  1. Good Morning, Everyone… 🌚 ONE GIANT LEAP FOR MANKIND 🌚

🎶Fly me to the MOON…let me play among the stars…🎶… “Fly Me To The Moon” – Mr Frank Sinatra (original Sinatra recording) 1964 https://tinyurl.com/nhbr5hcm

🌚 No walk along an AVENUE, no this is up in space,
(And ORIOLE and MONTH are gone…they just don’t suit this place)…
Two astronauts…a camera…and they both fit the FRAME…
Momento of their space flight…and a footnote to their names…
    Above the lunar surface…yes, it’s definitely a boon…
To see them jump for joy as they both leap OVER THE MOON…🌚

While the solve JUMPED right out at me, I’m a little LOST IN SPACE with the details…

Ok, so…It’s as plain as the nose on one’s SPACE, that from what our question is giving us …”Astronauts JUMPING ABOVE (= OVER) the LUNAR SURFACE” (= THE MOON); the very graphic cartoon showing us exactly what they’re doing; and the look of pure EUPHORIA on their faces, (which we can also see reflected on the camera),…the astronauts were…OVER THE MOONhttps://tinyurl.com/ktmr6w9s a tried and true well-known idiom….and a perfect pun for today’s solve…

…But what has me a little STAR STUCK is the wording on the astronauts suits…One reads, “Genesis”, the other, “Jesus”…So I’m caught between the devil, and the accuracy… On December 24th, 1968, the night leading to the birth of Jesus, the men aboard Apollo 8 read from Genesis, https://tinyurl.com/2bjrwn2j …but there wasn’t a moon landing then…that wasn’t until 1969 with Apollo 11… https://tinyurl.com/2fc3sv7t …So it could just be me, but I’m not making the connection. I wish I had a CRATER grasp on it, and I’m probably missing something…but for me, it’s UP IN THE AIR…

…So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And I guess there is the possibility that the names on the spacesuits are just whimsy…and Jeff decided to PLANET that way…Who knows…but it’s definitely way too much thinking for a MOONday morning! 🌚🙋🏻‍♀️

    • FYI: EARLIER THIS MORNING, DAVID TOLD ME THAT TODAY’S PUZZLE WAS CREATED WITH THE HELP OF A 6TH GRADE CLASS. IDEAS WERE SUBMITTED, AND THE WINNING ENTRY WAS MADE BY TWO STUDENTS WHO WORKED TOGETHER TO COME UP WITH THE IDEA. IT TURNS OUT THAT THEIR NAMES ARE GENESIS AND JESUS…”A UNIQUE COMBINATION”, IN DAVID’S WORDS! … SO, TO REWARD THEM, HE AND JEFF TOLD THEM THEY WOULD DO SO BY PUTTING THEIR NAMES ON THE SPACESUITS. MYSTERY SOLVED! …🙋🏻‍♀️

    • Frank’s “Fly me to the moon” is one of his greatest hits!Chuck, one of Frank’s greatest fans!

  3. 🖼️ After spending the entire day shopping on the AVENUE, she was OVER THE MOON when she finally found the perfect FRAME to fit the painting of the ORIOLE that she purchased last MONTH…🖼️

🤷🏻‍♂️His FRAME of mind a little off, the MONTH is flying by,
His AVENUE of research…just not working for the guy…
The paper on the ORIOLE is coming due real soon…
If only he could finish it he’d be OVER THE MOON…🤷🏻‍♂️

  4. Always a great day to start a new week of fun jumbles , Monday ! All the anagrams were right down my AVENUE ! This has been a great MONTH ! All the Monday jumbles should be in a FRAME ! And one of the prettiest sounding birds is the ORIOLE ! They were all there ! The jumble talking about astronauts and lunar surface had one looking OVER THE MOON ! And Angela , your summary and description of all the cartoon and information was very entertaining and informative ! This was a great Monday jumble ! Everyone have a good start of the week Monday !!!!!

  5. It’s always nice to start the Monday with a blind solve, and today was no exception. And yes, it always helps to have fewer letters to contend with. Angela, very interesting commentary about the names on their flight suits….and your song choice was wonderful. Will definitely listen in a moment. Terry

  6. Good morning. This bird missed on Oriole I’m sad to say but other than that it was smooth sailing right to the cartoon answer. As soon as I saw your pick for the song Angela I immediately went to it. Also enjoyed your tidbits. Until tomorrow take care.

  7. All is well on a frosty cold Monday morning with a quick solve of the anagrams and an obvious solution of the cartoon. Have a great Monday, Chuck.

  8. Nice and easy way to start the week. Love the fact that young students were involved in the idea. That’s just a great project for kids. Happy Monday all ! Betty

  9. Yes, we can jump and float all around
With our feet barely touching the ground
    We’re here on la lune
    (That’s French for the moon)
Such fun before we’re earth bound!

    • 🌚 To travel in space, let alone,
      Accomplish what our cartoon’s shown…
      To walk on the moon,
      Far removed from jejune…
Is something that few men have known…🌚

👍🏻With a joy that can hardly be matched,
From their space module they’ve detached…
And they pose for a pic,
      Proud in their baliwick…
      This a “surface” that’s barely been scratched!👍🏻

🌚 Happy to have a successful flight,
They’re just basking in genuine delight…
      The euphoria seen,
      As they smile…as they preen…
It makes for an amazing sight…🌚

👍🏻The phrase “over the moon” we’ve all used…
      Means we’re happy…content and amused…
But in this case we see,
      It’s gone literally…
There’s no chance here that we’ll be bemused…👍🏻

👏🏻👏🏻 So they’re jumping for joy here today,
As a background of stars is displayed…
      Yes it’s one giant leap,
      Which forever will keep…
      The excitement to never allay…👏🏻👏🏻

      • Hey diddle dodule,
        The cats and the module
The astronauts jumped over the Moon.
Ground control laughed to see such a sight
And the astronauts came back at noon.

    • I just read the article and I am so impressed ! I have always tried to come up with fun and creative messages to teach kids , and what David and Jeff did was very respectful ! Great post Angela !
