  1. Good Morning, Everyone…🤠 HEADS ABOVE THE REST! 🤠

🎶 You can WEAR MY HAT, you can have my coat..You can take my shirt, cos i need don’t need it… I got no problem if you love it..Come on, take it if you love it…🎶 “Wear My Hat” – Phil Collins 1996 https://tinyurl.com/rkxwxx98

    🤠 We have two Jeffs and a Mark today….and a shop that’s selling hats…
A Haberdashery it’s called, (good luck when you SPELL that)!
With Jeff Tweedy it’s not a FLUKE, he’s always felt a bond,
His trademark Stetson so well-known…of which he was quite fond…
The color of it off-white…vanilla MUFFIN comes to mind,
But here we see him shopping hats…..looking for a new find…
There’s nothing BITTER ‘bout this pic, three men all wearing smiles,
Our Jeff’s trying a “Hoss” hat? Def throw-back pop culture style!
Our solve though can’t be easier…another notch on belt…
The word “soft”’s a dead give-away…These hats they FELT LIKE FELT!🤠

Ok…First things first. I can’t believe Apple still doesn’t have a Cowboy hat emoji. Off the TOP OF MY HEAD I can think of quite a number of them where they’re coming up lacking, but right now that’s neither HAIR nor there. But know that I did look for something more sophisticated to HEAD this post…I’m not happy with the cartoony, smiling cowboy…but you know what they say…Any sort in a storm..

Anyway…Today we find ourselves at the “Top It Off” Haberdashery Shop. Love the wit and whimsy of the title… but guess what? You know I hate leaving any DOME unturned when it comes to bringing you the KNITty-gritty of these puzzles, so I TOQUE it upon myself to do a little digging…And I came up with an amazing article. https://tinyurl.com/8xpcp2yb …And while there’s a good chance that it may have been the HATalyst behind this puzzle today, (and I am curious if it’s so)…I still FELT pretty good unCOVERing it…So HEAD over and read it…

Ok…I think I got a little aHEAD of myself there…But let me get back on track so that I can reCAP this all…

Chicago…And today’s cartoon brings us, left…Jeff Knurek, https://tinyurl.com/26a98hf9 our illustrious Jumble artist, middle, Jeff Tweedy, https://tinyurl.com/27mcud9r, musician, etc… the band Wilco’s https://tinyurl.com/2h4tnp22 HEAD honcho, and at right, Mark Greenberg, https://tinyurl.com/4uzpu2rs, manager of Wilco’s recording studio, “The Loft”, a musician in his own right, and best friend to Tweedy…Who from our dialogue seems to be today’s main HATtraction…And while our Jeff is seen feeling as if he’s hit a BONANZA with his HOSS https://tinyurl.com/ycp6c7cu Hat, Jeff and Mark are having a little TÊTE-À-TÊTE 😉as Jeff, his hand atop his years-old signature Cowboy Hat, HATmires himself in a beret, and Mark states MATTer-of-factly how he likes the FEEL of the Fedora he’s holding…And we know what those are made of… https://tinyurl.com/4twj9mk2 …So…as far as the FABRIC of today’s puzzle goes…with our question leading us to what most hats are made of…and again, Mark’s use of the word SOFT? The hat…FELT LIKE FELT…and another easy, breezy solve OFF THE TOP OF OUR HEADS!

And as for the other WEARS in the shop….On the wall, what looks to be some sort of ornate Top Hat, a Brick Cowboy Hat, what I believe may be a Pork Pie Hat, and on the shelf, I’m guessing a Stovepipe and two more Berets…And yes, you can FEEL my lack of assurance with them…Let’s face it, I’m just not into the voCAPulary of the hat industry…men’s hats are mostly OVER MY HEAD…

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And as far as hats go…while we can say that Cowboy Hats are well-rounded, sad hats are SOMBERros, and all MATTED wool hats FELT good at one time or another, I’ll leave you with a little Haberdashery HATvice…If you’re looking for the best way to tell if certain distinguished looking hats belong to little drummer boys? …Easy…They’ll all have a…proper pom-pom, proper pom-pom…proper pom-pom…🎤 And with tHAT, Folks, I’m HATter here! 🤠🙋🏻‍♀️

    • Initial guess was FELT LIKE WOOL…and found the error of my ways after solving anagrams. Another clever play on words.

  2. 🤷🏻‍♂️It could have just been a FLUKE, but at the Halloween party he swore that the MUFFIN had a BITTER taste, and its texture FELT LIKE FELT…maybe someone but a SPELL on him? 🤷🏻‍♂️

🤦🏻‍♂️The word he couldn’t SPELL was FLUKE..he thought it had two OOs,
He felt a little BITTER…for his perfect score now goes…
He sat drowning his sorrows in a MUFFIN filled with jam,
    He’s feeling like a failure…and they’re calling him a sham…
They teased him…”How’re you feeling…now that you too have misspelt”?
Begrudgingly and stuttering, he said..”I FELT LIKE…(I)FELT…”🤦🏻‍♂️

  3. On my way for an undefeated jumble week ! Wow ! I am not BITTER at all ! It’s very good to be able to SPELL , so I think I’ll have a MUFFIN ! And this is not a FLUKE ! When I saw all the letters F’s , L’s , and T’s , I had a feeling that 2 words were spelled the same ! Then when I read about the hat and what it was made of , I could feel it coming ! So it FELT LIKE FELT ! What a great no-hump day Wednesday to contribute to an undefeated week of jumbles ! Everyone have a great no-hump day !!!!!!

  4. Good morning. No head scratching on todays jumble. It was straight down the line to a successful cartoon solve. No blind solve though. As for the song choice Angela, you always surprise me how you come up with all these songs every day. Thanks for all your hard work and all your extras you give us. Until tomorrow take care.

    • Good Morning, Paul. You’re very welcome and thank you so much for the Shout Out…Have a good one…🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. Be it fedora or beanie or cap
All favoured by many a chap
    If it’s made of felt
Then the best deal you’ve been dealt
When around your head it you wrap!

  6. Miscopied the letters from spell, thinking it was spill so I was lacking an ‘E’ for the blind solve , felt like felt, I had come up with.Guess I wasn’t fully awake!

  7. 🤷🏻‍♂️‘Twas a time when a man wasn’t dressed,
If a hat didn’t serve as his crest…
But those days are long past,
    Some fashion doesn’t last…
Gone the wayside with much of the rest!🤷🏻‍♂️

🧢Today caps have become de rigueur,
Not just for him but also for her…
Gone the top hat and cloche,
For the most part now gauche…
Casual now the way to appear…🧢

👍🏻Tweedy sans hat just didn’t seem right,
So the man he put up the good fight…
Picked a new one to wear,
His choice made it quite clear…
There was comfort in what he had there…👍🏻

🤦🏻‍♂️The hat Jeff chose, the one that Hoss wore,
From back when it was TV du jour…
    Served for comic relief,
    Sure there was no belief…
He’d be wearing it out of the door! 🤦🏻‍♂️

👏🏻👏🏻Bottom line…fashion comes and it goes,
Standards change with the way we wear clothes…
    It’s the freedom of choice,
That gives each man his voice…
As for hats? Haberdashery’s prose! 👏🏻👏🏻

  8. After solving the words, I saw the duplicate letters. From that, I found ‘left like left’. Which is weird. Looking at the cartoon, the answer was obviously FELT LIKE FELT. Overall very easy.

  9. Angela, I really appreciate your research, commentary, and poems today! The fact that you knew that the third person in the puzzle cartoon is Mark Greenberg is super impressive! And you nailed it when you uncovered the article about Jeff getting his hat back…that was a great read, and I think you are correct in surmising that the article is the inspiration for the cartoon. Great detective work, Angela!

    • Hi, Tom. Tk you. You’re very kind. And I’m glad you enjoyed the article. Actually, I’m glad you took the time to read it. I found it very interesting, so I thought others might also. I hope you scrolled down to the very bottom of it. Mine came up with a huge video half way through, making me think it had ended…And I too think Jeff ran with the ball…it’s a great cartoon! Tks again, Tom, and I wish you a great evening! 🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. Angela, thank you for the heads up! Yes, there is more good stuff at the end of the article – funny! Thanks again, Angela, and a pleasant evening to you as well.

    • You’re welcome,Tom. I’m glad I mentioned it. It just seemed to cut off in mid-air, so I looked further. The video block was huge! And thank you…pleasant dreams! 🙋🏻‍♀️
