  1. Good Morning, Everyone…. 📂 WAR AND PIECE 📂

    🎶The Theme from M*A*S*H …🎶 “Suicide is Painless” 1970 https://tinyurl.com/3tdv2bnc

📂 With all the telegrams that came, the SKINNY his domain,
Today it’s Corporal “Radar” that has garnered Jumble Fame…
He’d sometimes FLIRT an issue, but mostly was discreet,
The innocence of DAISY Mae and courage seemed to meet
(I’ll need to lay the MALLET down, it just don’t seem to hash,
Within our puzzle here today, about TV’s show “Mash”)
But Radar who is featured…always managing a smile…
Kept the Mash unit running…representing RANK AND FILE…📂

I don’t know about you, but the GENERAL consensus amongst the Early Birds is that David’s puzzles haven’t been STRETCHERS these past few days, and they’re definitely not WARranting us being a HAWKEYE of any kind…or beating ourselves up over failing to SEW things up…Nope…no CORPORAL punishment here…Nothing to TRAPPER or him…But FARR from me to complain…it’s ALDA good in my book…

So…Today, we’re SET in Korea, our location being the 4077th MASH (Mobile Army Surgical Hospital), https://tinyurl.com/28rrj9nk during the Korean War. And our featured CHARACTER is Corporal https://tinyurl.com/mvmje68 Walter Eugene O’Reilly….affectionately known as “Radar”, and played by the multi-talented, Emmy Award winning Gary Burghoff. https://tinyurl.com/yvuwnpv4

Ok…BRASS tacks…We find Radar, while FILE-ing, (ie) “Organizing and storing documents”, speaking with Lt. Colonel Henry Blake, played by McLean Stevenson https://tinyurl.com/43hkp6up who tells him that he deserves a promotion. But Radar, the COMPANY CLERK, isn’t looking for anything MAJOR…he’s happy with his RANK…He’s conTENT to be PART of the RANK AND FILE… https://tinyurl.com/2skf3u8m …And THAT’S A WRAP…

And if you look real closely, you’ll see Jeff’s whimsy at work…He’s EN-LISTED four of the files with the names of…ALDA, A…BAYLISS, G…BLAKE, H…And BURNS, F…good COMPANY, for sure…

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And I’ll leave you with a favorite exchange from our two CHARACTERS from ”M*A*S*H*”… Col. Blake- “Radar do you really understand all of this army nonsense?” Radar- “It helps if you’re not too smart.”….Kind of like WAR in a nutSHELL…📂🙋🏻‍♀️

    • Sorry to correct you, Angela, but as as long time NASH devotee from the books, movie and TV program, the senior officer depicted in the cartoon is not Henry Blake, who was a lieutenant colonel (silver oak leak insignia). The commanding officer depicted was Colonel Sherman T. Potter, who was a full colonel as shown by the silver eagle insignia on his cap.

      • No worries. I thought it resembled Henry Morgan more than Stevenson, but I went with him since it was his name: Blake, H, that appeared on the file folder shown…Enjoy your night! 🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 💸 With money so tight, the RANK AND FILE refused to even FLIRT with the idea of purchasing a new MALLET set…especially since the SKINNY was that Miss DAISY was bequeathing them the three of hers in her will…💸

🌼On every single MALLET a DAISY had been drawn,
Someone decided they would FLIRT the rules…and brought on scorn
The SKINNY was they’d name the culprit…in a little while…
And hopefully it won’t be one of their own RANK AND FILE…🌼

  4. Wow ! I was as thirsty as you could possibly get! The anagrams were there until I heard “ order in the court “ and I had to look up and find a MALLET ! The jumble was filed far away from me ! I couldn’t get it ! So I showed it to Suzie and she thought for a while and then said , Is RANK one of the words ? The she said is it RANK AND FILE ? Good job ! And we loved the MASH TV shows ! Very recognizable theme song ! So bring on Friday and everyone have a great thirsty-Thursday !!!!!

  5. Yes, I’ll agree that the last few days haven’t been stretchers. You know that to be the case when I’m accomplishing a lot of blind solves. But I didn’t understand your meaning, Angela, about today….was it a continuation of those…or is today supposed to be a bit more challenging ?? Anyway, don’t know if my military background swayed me towards another blind solve, but it did. Anagrams followed easily for a nice finish. Composer Johnny Mandel is a really talented musical force. See you TGIF.

    • Hey Terry…Today might be the easiest of them all! …And I’ve just reread what I’ve written…and I’m not sure what it is that I’ve said to make you think otherwise…Rank and File was definitely not under the RADAR!! 😉🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. Good morning. The words were a breeze but I was stuck on the cartoon answer and drew a blank when I had all the letters down. I was thinking of throwing in the towel when I came up with File first then saw And which left Rank remaining. First time hearing the words to the theme song Angela. You would be surprised on how many people googled the opening theme to see who the female nurse was that was leading the pack running. Apparently she drew a lot of interest. Until tomorrow take care.

    • Good Morning, Paul. LOL! Yes, I have to agree…A very striking woman…As for the song, it’s such a haunting melody…and for some reason it brought tears to my eyes…The show was comedy/drama, but let’s face it….war is hell no matter how you look at it. Take care, Paul. Have a good one…📂🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. Yet another easy one today. I remember two or three consecutive hard ones a couple of weeks ago. So right now we are in a drought of tough ones, and soon we could be in a deluge of tough ones.

  8. Nice and easy puzzle this morning. Totally enjoyed MASH – great show, great acting. Happy Thursday all !
