Good Morning, Everyone. .. ⬆️⬇️ STICKING WITH IT ⬇️⬆️
🎶 Step by step, bit by bit,…Stone by stone (yeah), brick by brick (oh, yeah)…Step by step, day by day, mile by mile (ooh, ooh, ooh)…🎶 “Step by Step” – Whitney Houston 1996 https://tinyurl.com/2p8wnd2c
⬆️ These workmen dressed in KHAKI deal with the task at hand,
Checked every plank for any SLANT, as each one they did sand…
(There’s no place here for GOBLET nor HUBCAP…not today,
I tried but came up empty…so they won’t get into play)…
But our guys working so well, and now that they’ve done the prep…
Will build the staircase easily…long as they’re IN LOCKSTEP…⬇️
Ok…Here’s the deal. I’m sure the word STEP was a given, since the puzzle deals with a staircase, and the cartoon shows the workmen holding one. But…LOCKSTEP? TBT? Not everyone I spoke with was able to NAIL IT DOWN. And despite my being familiar with both the word and the idiom, I have to admit that neither one is heard all that often…Plus there’s the chance that you may not be all that familiar with staircases being constructed with glue, https://tinyurl.com/ym8usefu (and if you look real closely at the cartoon you can see the step’s application), so maybe that threw you off…IDK…I’m just trying to COVER all the bases for you here…Anyway…bottom line? Just in case you felt yourself LOCKed out with this one today?… You may not be alone.
But the solve? For me, between the dialogue..”get them down” = LOCK, the words “working together” in our question, the visible STEPs, plus the presence of the tube of adhesive? I was automatically in STEP with David’s LINE of thinking…But as I mentioned, if it wasn’t HAMMERed home immediately, then going with STEP and gleaning LOCK from the remaining letters, hopefully SEALED the deal…The workmen needed to be precise with their movements…they were working together…IN LOCKSTEP! https://tinyurl.com/7ujz622y
So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…and you know what they say about stairs…Can’t trust them. Either they’re always UP to something, or they’ll so easily LET YOU DOWN…I guess they too often just don’t MEASURE UP…⬆️⬇️🙋🏻♀️

🍷Some of the items the scavenger hunt called for were a wine GOBLET, a HUBCAP, and a KHAKI cap…and of course the SLANT needed to win was for all the team members to be IN LOCKSTEP with one another…🧢
🤷🏻♂️He reached for a wine GOBLET, tried thinking of a SLANT,
To pay for a new HUBCAP…waiting for the wine’s DECANT…
He’d hate to have to work for it, go out there forced to schlep…
Maybe he’d find someone to help…be with him IN LOCKSTEP…🤷🏻♂️
Good morning thirsty-Thursday ! I had no connection with the jumble today , I totally agree with you Angela about that ! I had the anagrams till my HUBCAP fell off ! My first guess was One Step , but the remaining letters didn’t work , so I had to STEP away and LOCK it up ! Have to have some apple juice with breakfast , everyone have a great thirsty Thursday !!!
Good morning. No problem with the words but couldn’t come up with the cartoon answer on my own. Word scramble gave it to me but I didn’t think it was right until I checked with you guys. New word for this Brooklyn born. Good choice Angela on your song pick. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.
Good Morning, Paul. Tk you. And wishing you the same. ⬆️🙋🏻♀️
In building a staircase from scratch
You want to be sure to make the planks match
Not bumpy or slanted
Take nothing for granted
Each step you must carefully attach!
Make sure the stairs are non-slip
To be sure that no one will flip
When going up stairs or down
Please don’t break their crown
That would be an unfortunate trip!
A comment on hubcap. Most,if not all cars, no longer have hubcaps, but steel wheels or chrome wheels w no covers! So the anagram ‘hubcap’ is a word from the past.
Perhaps, eventually…but as far as word play goes, it still keeps rolling along! 😉🙋🏻♀️
Agreed. Words like hubcap are part of the English language, especially in a country like the USA where all things to do with cars and the automotive industry are part of your DNA!
👍🏻 With a craftsman who’s good at his trade,
There’s no margin of error be made…
He will do the job right,
To a client’s delight…
Comes to steps…guaranteed nothing’s swayed! 👍🏻
🔨 We’ve two workmen who’ve forgone the nails,
Using glue on the steps and handrails…
The precision intact,
They’re both on the same track…
And “adhere” to the smallest detail! 🔨
🧢 Wearing caps that capture the whimsy,
Of their business right down to a T…
Heaven’s Stairway is seen,
And it all fits the mien…
For these guys produce nothing flimsy! 🧢
📐 Step by step is the name of the game,
And each step of course must be the same…
So they measure just so,
Ensure each step will go…
To the exact spot on the case frame! 📐
😱 These men working together so well,
To ensure that no future step swell…
For if off by an inch,
Threat of danger a cinch…
And their reputations? Shot to…!§£^[§£*! 😱

Good to see you, Miss Eleanor. 🙋🏻♀️
Easy time of it with the anagrams but had to ponder the cartoon answer for a few minutes. Figured “step” would be part of it eliminated “on” as the two letter word which left “in” and “lock”. Happy Thursday all!
We’re traveling abroad now…and getting to this later than usual…Will parrot others with no answer clue, though anagrams straight forward. Two days of toughie. Ouch
