Good Morning, Everyone…I hope this finds you well…
🔠 A PUNNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS! 🔠
🎶 PUNNY day .Sweepin’ the clouds away …On my way to where the air is sweet …Can you tell me how to get…How to get a PUZZLE COMPLETE…🎶 “Sunny Days” – The Sesame Street Theme (with apologies to Bruce Hart, Jon Stone and Joseph G. Raposo.) 1971 https://tinyurl.com/8b5rdrus
🔠 David opens up his VAULT of words, a puzzle needs be made,
He should do one ‘bout KETTLE Corn, or maybe a parade*
He could portray a PASTOR who to the Lord reports,
But not today, today he speaks doubles to his cohort…
And when Jeff suggests twins to him…he laughs…but sans a SNORT,
He knows whatever he decides…Jeff never comes up short
The bottom line…What will they choose…what puzzle will evolve…
From this…a meeting of the minds who need a “PUN” TO SOLVE? 🔠
So today we find our Jumble creators doing what they do best…And we here do the same…because with the very leading nature of today’s question, it automatically gave up TO SOLVE, and as soon as I read the dialogue and saw that Jeff was making a joke, and figured in the quotation marks?…PUN! I mean Done! …Well both actually. The Jumble Guys enjoy making puzzles that are…”PUN” TO SOLVE!
And DOUBLING our pleasure today, a hot day deep into the DOG days of Summer, https://tinyurl.com/2s4hdmac we get to see the three Jumble dogs, who by this time need no introduction. But for those of you who have PET to recognize them on sight, I’ll do the honors. We have Miss Daisy Dog, David’s partner in rhyme…who appears to be rolling her eyes at Jeff’s suggestion… and Jeff’s two faithful companions, Gizmo left and Fifi right. And we have some special Gems today, too…We see David’s omnipresent coffee, but this time steaming in a David L Hoyt Education Foundation https://tinyurl.com/4r99b6hc mug. And Jeff is sporting a T-shirt that may be new to our pages. It’s the image of David Mayfield, of The David Mayfield Parade*😉…and you can read about him here… https://tinyurl.com/4r8npv3h But you know me…I keep searching…And what I found to be the FUNniest part of our cartoon today?Jeff is barefoot! https://tinyurl.com/3sa3af4k …Which proves that it always pays to keep looking…No agony of deFEET for me!
So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe..And here’s to Everyone having PUN today…🔠🙋🏻♀️
I STAND WITH UKRAINE 💔🇺🇦 …AND I STAND FOR REFORM IN AMERICA 💔🇺🇸
🤦🏻♂️ The congregation let out a collective SNORT when the PASTOR said it would be FUN TO SOLVE the riddle about why he kept a KETTLE in the VAULT…🤦🏻♂️
🤷🏻♂️The dog walked near the PASTOR, and he was wont to SNORT,
Each time they passed the huge KETTLE that held so many quarts…
The Pastor found it very odd and kept it to himself,
A secret kept within a VAULT, or hidden on a shelf
It definitely piqued his interest though…and it was his resolve…
To find out why his dog did it..a riddle FUN TO SOLVE! 🤷🏻♂️
🔠 Jeff and David sit down to create,
And of course leaving nothing to fate…
They think of a way,
To offer each day…
A puzzle that’s always first-rate! 🔠
🐶 With their trusty pets happily ensconced,
Ideas bounce around for a response,
And of course there are puns,
Which just leads to the fun…
For the dogs though it’s just nonchalance! 🐶
🦶🏻Jeff without shoes def gave me a laugh,
And you know it wasn’t any gaffe…
The whimsy that’s he,
I’m sure you’ll agree…
Isn’t ever offered half and half! 🦶🏻
Great J today.
Solution was so fun!
I was expecting something about twins in the answer.
Omg ! Very clever ! But not Punny ! Ok I’ll put a Puzzle on my mouth ! Wow , I’m definitely gonna have some tacos on this Tuesday cause I’ve been eating corn on the cob and it Corn-fused me ! All right , the anagrams were good , but one made me SNORT and the other one , I needed to go to church and talk to my PASTOR ! But the other two opened the KETTLE and I put it in the VAULT ! Everyone have a Pun taco-Tuesday !!!!!
Too cryptic for a blind solve Taco Tuesday. I, too, thought it might involve doubles/twins, etc. Anyway, after speedily solving anagrams, spent more time than I should have to find where the elusive “V” went. With SOLVE solved, the rest was easy. Angela, thanks for pointing out the song’s composers, especially Joe Raposo. He has quite a splendid history of tuneful compositions back in late 70’s/early 80’s…and unfortunately, died when he was 51.
I agree, Terry. 🎶🙋🏻♀️
PUN TO SOLVE. Or maybe PUN TO LOVES. The Jumble creators LOVE their puns!
They’re always much more than a pun
And simply second to none
“Double entendre” the French say
It can go either way
And it’s a laugh when all’s said and done.
It was a very puny puzzle this morning. Cute!
Good morning J’s ! This definitely was a “PUN TO SOLVE”, so great and fun ! The anagrams were great as well, I solved them all except for “PASTOR”, which I should have gotten since my son pastors a church in Vermont, but the rest of them came easy ! So until tomorrow – have a sunny day !
Punny puzzle today. I first had PUN TO LOVES, but that made no sense. It took a minute or two to SOLVE the last word.
