So once again today, we’re walking down Memory Lane. King Kong’s no stranger to the Jumble. We last saw him in June of last year, but he’s also made APEarances in June of 2019, July and September of 2017, March of 2016, April of 2015, August, September, October and November of 2013, and November of 2012, just to name a few…I quit SEARCHING at that point, but I’m betting there’s plenty more. So I guess we can say that it’s a foreKONG conclusion that David must be a really BIG fan…But I still can’t help but wonder…What kind of MONKEY business was going on in that latter part of 2013?…Four months in a row? GORILLA in the MISTery there…Anyway, as in the past, this LARGER than life icon always makes for an interesting CASE…So…FAY WRAY, I mean Hooray for today’s puzzle!…Ok,..now let’s cut to the CHASE…

The Gems? The Hot Dogs are priced at $3…but inflation’s alive and doing insanely well in NYC…they’re $4 now. And you gotta love the vendor, tongs in hand, getting impatient wondering if Kong intends to order…And then there’s Kong…trying to do that quintessential NY thing we’ve all mastered…hiding behind a newspaper! The right side? There’s an image beneath Kong’s fingers, but it’s hard to see. I’m going with neither HAIR nor there…But the BIG Gem that whet my APEpetite this morning? 🌺 The placards for the Judge Family Farm flower show were to read…”By and large the best prices in town”, and show him, the Judge, GAVEL in hand, surrounded by AZALEA plants…but they were mistakenly printed as…”LARGE AT LARGE” and now, because of the late date…getting down to the nitty-GRITTY…they were up the CREEK without a paddle…🌺
👨🏻⚖️ The judge just threw his GAVEL down, the CREEK it would be drained,
The GRITTY things seen floating?…Time had come…nothing to gain…
Someone suggested flower beds…AZALEA would be nice,
Whatever they decided it would be well worth the price
He helped form a committee…and they would be in charge…
To get it done and quickly…it’s an eyesore…LARGE AT LARGE…👨🏻⚖️

Figured he’d run and the cops out slick…
But he didn’t realize,
That an ape of his size?

Good morning taco/Tuesday ! Wow ! Todays jumble had me up a CREEK ! I’m gonna put the GAVEL down on this one cause it left me with a GRITTY taste ! I wasn’t sure of the spelling of AZALEA cause I had to look , but I did get the word ! After my wife and I tried to capture King Kong with REAL , GREAT , and LARGE , but the answer itself was AT LARGE ! Everyone have a great taco Tuesday !!!!!

Hi and Good Morning – what a glorious day ! To start the day off I did real good figuring out the anagrams but the jumble stumped me. So here’s a story – the “AZALEA” was ” LARGE AT LARGE” When the judge slammed his “GAVEL”, when the gardner knew he was up a “CREEK”, just because he was “GRITTY” from planting that beautiful azalea he had pilfered !
Until tomorrow – everyone have a sunny day !
Looked like AT LARGE out of the starting gate…but what could that first word be? LARGE AT LARGE didn’t make any sense. Okay, so I do the anagrams and lo and behold…I was right !! Thanks for all cartoon explanations, Angela….and a cool, upbeat song.

Good morning. Azalea got me. I was unable to come up with that word but the rest was a breeze, even the cartoon answer. When I put down the letters for the cartoon answer I noticed most were doubles so I separated them into two groups with A T added to one side. The answer could easily be seen. Another vote here for thinking of great at first and also thought large at large didn’t make sense but it does in Jumble Land so all in all it was a successful day. Have a good one all!

Like some of the other commenters here “large at large” sounds a little off. Perhaps if we thought of it as describing Mr. Kong, that is “he is large, at large” it might make more sense. Or not. No matter — “azalea” was a good puzzler!
