  1. Good Morning, Everyone…I hope this finds you well…
    📚 READING BETWEEN THE CONFINES…📚

🎶 When troubles call and your back’s to the wall there’s a lot to be learned…That wall could fall… But he’s got HIGH HOPES…He’s got HIGH HOPES…He’s got high apple pie in the sky hopes…🎶 “High Hopes” – Mr Frank Sinatra 1959 https://tinyurl.com/2p8489nj

📚Since he was on HIATUS, Jeff had time upon his hands,
And catching up on reading was a part of leisure’s plans…
He had quite the collection, but he did favor a group,
The one about the ATRIUM he’d read in one fell swoop…
He tried not to FORGET which books had definitely made a SPLASH,
Besides being best sellers they had cost him much more cash…
So he set up a system upon which he’d rank his books…
But unaware that some said books were giving dirty looks…
Some felt that they were overlooked, that others fared much better,
They lie there at the bottom…sense of worth compared to TETHER…
And while we see Jeff sitting there oblivious to all,
I nearly blew a GASKET wondering where Gasket would fall…
The bottom line though Jeff can’t tell some books have lost their dream…
Of being placed above with those who flaunt HIGH “SHELF”-ESTEEM!📚

I’m going to try my best to make this a SHORT STORY, because my poem is LONGER than usual…but sometimes I just have no SHELF control…

One of Jeff’s favorite rock bands is Wilco, https://tinyurl.com/2p8mdmj5 whose lead singer, Jeff Tweedy https://tinyurl.com/24jv9nkc is a personal friend. And today Jeff’s featured reading Tweedy’s book, “How To Write One Song”. Here’s an interesting article https://tinyurl.com/yeyjbmh7 that not only reviews the book, but mentions Jeff also.

As for the gist of the puzzle, today we’re dealing with “A Tale of Two…Pities”. The first being the book discrimination, and the second being that it’s a pity I can’t figure out where Jeff is. It can’t be a library, because there’s a cat lying on the bottom shelf. And it can’t be Jeff’s home because…well there’s a cat lying on the bottom shelf. So, I’m lost. But as far as the bookcase goes, we see that the two male and one catty female (“mostly picture books”) books at top are ruling the roost…while as for the three at bottom, things aren’t LOOKING UP…pun intended. So obviously, from our dialogue…”favorite books up here”…the books at the top SHELF had HIGH “SHELF”- ESTEEMhttps://tinyurl.com/mpewuzmc Another brilliant solve! And in between the warring FICTIONS…I mean factions? A set of Encyclopedias, listed A-to-Z, and a sole book lying next to a standing Ballerina which must stand for something…But while it had me on my toes for a while, I finally gave up…Too comPLIEcated…and I just couldn’t READ anything into it…Perhaps Jeff may tell its TALE…

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, stay safe…and I’ll take a PAGE out of my own book…and LEAF! 📚🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 🤷🏻‍♂️On HIATUS, and with the others gathered in the ATRIUM, he was about to blow a GASKET when a co-worker with such a HIGH SELF-ESTEEM attitude caused his drink to SPLASH all over him…and he caught himself about to FORGET his manners and TETHER him to a chair…🤷🏻‍♂️

🤦🏻‍♂️He worked on his car’s GASKET, his HIATUS on his mind,
When suddenly an oil SPLASH …not what he’d hope to find…
The floor beneath the ATRIUM he’d hate to make a stain,
He needs to FORGET vaca plans while car repairs remain…
He felt it like a TETHER though…his thoughts bogged down with it,
He longed for time away from here…the thoughts just wouldn’t quit
But he needed to concentrate…’cause right now what it seems…
Is that as a repairman? He’s far from HIGH SELF-ESTEEM! 🤦🏻‍♂️

  4. Good morning Sunday Funday ! The anagrams were all there except for 2 of them ! One , I had to take a HIATUS from it , then I ended up in an ATRIUM to see if that would help with it ! But the rest of them were a SPLASH and I won’t FORGET them ! So , I put a new GASKET on the TETHER ball pole . As for the jumble , I had to reach the SHELF but it was too HIGH and my ESTEEM was affected ! So I didn’t get HIGH SHELF ESTEEM ! Angela the song was one of my favorite Sinatra songs ! And I was wondering what was on the book Jeff was reading ! Thanks to you for revealing all the details ! Everyone have a great Sunday Funday !!!!

    • Good Morning, Jim…YW…And wishing you a great day too. 📚🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. 📚 With a haughtiness second to none,
One can see there’s no “book fair” here done…
    These above feel they’re tops,
    Deem the others a flop…
And it looks like a book war’s begun! 📚

    🗣Turn a cheek just as one’d turn a page,
With this scene it’s not something we gauge…
    But Jeff sits there blasé…
Does he help? No, no way…
When he should be the one to assuage! 🗣

📚 So these top books think they have an edge,
Just because they’ve attained the top ledge…
    But behavior like this,
    Ruins the other books’ bliss…
    And it’s definitely causing a wedge! 📚

  6. All anagrams unscrambled pretty speedily, although I spent some extra time on TETHER. Fairly cryptic puzzle today and so we just didn’t get it, even with all those letters facing us. Looking back, should have at least pulled SHELF out of the mix. Cool front passing through today, which is really nice !!! Enjoy your Sunday. Another great Sinatra classic is always welcome…Thanks, Angela (from A HOLE IN THE HEAD, I think…)

    • YW, Terry. Yes, the Academy Award winning song that year from “A Hole in The Head’ …And yes, with those quotation marks…SHELF was built right in for this solve! 😉 Have a good one, Terry! 📚🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. Loved the answer. I was lost until I found HIGH, then the rest was obvious.

TETHER took the longest of the words, but wasn’t too bad.

  8. Good morning. I had high hopes for today but fell well short. I had to look up Atrium and then I decided to look up the cartoon answer as well. Oh well, tomorrow starts anew. Another great song choice Angela. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

    • LOL! High Hopes, indeed. Good Morning, Paul. Thank you. Hoping you’re staying well and safe too. 📚🙋🏻‍♀️

  9. For now, you’re the books that inspire
You think readers are not going to tire
    Of the same old story
But the fame and the glory
Will fade when your shelf life expires!

  10. Cute puzzle this morning. Saw “shelf” right away so the rest of the cartoon answer fell into place nicely. Perfect song choice as always, Angela. Have a good day all!

  11. Atrium had me stumped but otherwise a good Jumble sunny Sunday solve. A shout out to Angela, looking for a friendly Sunday shout out.FYI our daughter’s 23rd wedding anniversary and our younger son’s 13th both today! Happy Anniversary to both of them!
