Good Morning, Everyone…I hope this finds you well…
🐎 GIVING ALL NEW MEANING TO BRIDLE AND GROOM 🐎
🎶 Bill…I love you so I always will…I look at you and see the passion eyes of May…(Eyes of May)…Oh but am I ever gonna see my wedding day? …🎶 “Wedding Bell Blues” – The Fifth Dimension 1969 https://tinyurl.com/tpu7pkyn
🐎 We won’t see a FEDORA, and no BERET will be worn,
When Bill and Morgan join their lives…to have a new one born…
And there’s nothing IRONIC here, it looks like a true love,
They seem so sweet together…like a hand within a glove
I don’t think either will ELUDE the promise they made here…
Bill seems that he’s quite happy going with this “BRIDE” IDEA…🐎
Introducing our engaged couple…Bill REINS, and MORGAN MARE…
We’ve no new words today, and it was just FEDORA that caused one of the Early Birds to cry FOAL…it’s a great anagram. But the solve was an automatic one…Bill saying, “That sounds great”…instead of the more common phrase, “That’s a great IDEA”, was a big hint…And even the two EBs who solved the words first, and went with the letters,…the “B” and “D” stood out like sore thumbs, easily giving way to BRIDE. So either way you look at it, it was a SPUR of the moment solve…
Jeff’s Gems? We’re at the Scramble Ranch, not the Jumble Ranch, as one would expect. That’s definitely a horse of a different color…And the line…”I can be the MARE of honor” is a keeper. And our couple, hands clasped as they trot down the BRIDAL path, look genuinely happy. So, it looks like it should be a STABLE marriage…
So, There you have it Folks, Done. Be well, stay safe…and let’s hope our MANE man Bill doesn’t get COLT feet when he realizes he’ll be SADDLED with all new responsibility…🐎🙋🏻♀️
In light of what transpired in Afghanistan yesterday, I feel I’d be amiss if I didn’t mention something. It’s with a very heavy heart that I write this post this morning…since I always find it very hard to just turn off my emotions.…May God have mercy on the souls needlessly and tragically lost, and may they all Rest In Peace. 🙏🏻
I too thought ‘bridle’ would be part of the cartoon answer,on a takeoff from bridal.
I thought it would have made a great pun, Professor…🐎🙋🏻♀️
…AND OUT OF THE ARCHIVES…THIS 🤏🏻CLOSE…From the puzzle of 06/27/08: The question…This can ruin a relationship…The solve: “BRIDE” IDEAS 🙋🏻♀️
🤷🏻♂️ He thought it IRONIC, and not much of a BRIGHT IDEA, that they chose to ELUDE his suggestion, that limiting the headwear to just the BERET and the FEDORA wasn’t very business savvy…🤷🏻♂️
🤦🏻♀️ She tried on the FEDORA, the cap and the BERET,
And thought it quite IRONIC that she chose them both in gray…
She asked for his opinion, but he seemed just to ELUDE,
And she was disappointed that he’d be so outright rude…
So sorry now she brought him…’cause he’s surely no help here…
She got angry at herself…since it was all her BRIGHT IDEA…🤦🏻♀️
Can you solve these blasts from the past? Clicking on the anagram will give you the definition and the answer. Good luck!
Got the 1st two fairly quickly, somehow! 🤔Definitely not ones used in every day conversation for me! 🤷🏻♀️ (Hey Anj! ….you little brainiac, You! 🧠, thinking they were Easy!🙋🏻♀️) I don’t know how much time it would have taken to mess around with the 3rd, but I soon “caved” because I have to get going! I assume I would have been doing my famous “12 word, chicken scratch, Kim, scramble” 🐔 to come up with it! Thanks for the challenge, Mikey! I needed that! Enjoy your Friday and the weekend you two! (Mike and Angie)! It’s always so nice that you two are always here, for all of us! It is appreciated by me and so many others! Even though You probably know that already, just wanted to reiterate it, again! Cheers!
You’re most welcome, Kim! Thanks for letting me know how much you enjoyed them. Take care and have a wonderful weekend. TGIF!!!!!
And Thank you so Much! And For all you do, with keeping this site going!
Hi Kimberly. You’ll hear many a person who’s been doing the Jumble a long time, easily say that the words were harder years ago. Who knows…🤷🏻♀️ And thanks for your kind words, it’s very nice of you. Here’s to you enjoying your Friday too, Kimberly. Take care. 🔠🙋🏻♀️
And Thank you always, for your kindness! ☺️
YVW! 😘🙋🏻♀️
IRONIC was the most difficult for me, ironically…..
I thought the cartoon and solution were clever!
It’s been an enjoyable week…..
Dodgers won in 16 innings last night and I was asleep when it occurred. Leading 4-0 now in the bottom of the ninth. Dodgers are sweeping this 4 game series against the Padres and probably burying their dreams for this year. Bye Bye!
Good Morning, Mig. Yes, it’s definitely clever as always. Have a good one, and stay safe out there…🐎🙋🏻♀️
It was a toughie for me this morning….thought the IDEA somehow had to do with horses and saddles. Luckily, when unscrambling anagrams, BRIDE came to me, which helped back in FEDORA. Had seen fedora in the past and unscrambled okay…but today’s word was just scrambled up way too much !! And yes, Angela…heavy hearts abound…
Hi, Terry. I agree. Fedora was masterfully anagrammed today. And yes, if the letters were written out, Bride definitely revealed itself…And we can only pray for the best…🐎🙋🏻♀️
Good morning. Failed on Fedora and Ironic. Both were my choice for hardest word. Cartoon answer was no problem. Loved song choice Angela. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.
Good Morning, Paul. Tk you, I’m glad you enjoyed it. And here’s to you staying well and safe too…🐎🙋🏻♀️
Today is NATIONAL JUST BECAUSE DAY….I guess it speaks for itself…🤷🏻♀️
Speaking of “Just Because” day,one of my favorite polkas is The Just Because one.
Professor…personally, I’m not a polka person, but ironically, I do know this song…albeit in a different genre. (And “personally”, to boot…long story). Anyway, I don’t know if this rendition is what you had in mind, accordion-wise, 😉…but here it is. Enjoy! https://tinyurl.com/reck23ny 🪗🙋🏻♀️
It was a million seller for Frankie Yankovic who was from Cleveland my home town.I tried to follow in his footsteps ,playing the accordion, and playing the Just Becuse Polka frequently w my band, the Key Notes in the 60’s.
It definitely is a catchy tune, Professor. And of course I remember your speaking of your accordion playing. As I mentioned, I don’t remember it as a polka, but I do know the song. Only I can’t seem to put my finger on exactly whose voice is in my head. I think it’s Elvis. 🤷🏻♀️ https://tinyurl.com/a9262cms
I agree Fedora was the hardest word. Got the puzzle answer and had to back into fedora. Still enjoy doing them daily. Thanks everyone for the comments and poems that you post. Enjoy them very much.
You’re most welcome, Marlene. Enjoy your weekend! 🙂
Good Morning, Marlene. Besides David doing such a great job with the scrambling, Fedora’s not all that common a word anymore. So i guess it stands to reason that it’d be a stumper. And I’m happy to hear that you enjoy reading the poems, etc. Thank you for saying so. Enjoy your day, Marlene. Stay well and safe. 🐎🙋🏻♀️
Yes, fedora makes me think of gangsters, wearing belted coats and the fedora pulled down, obscuring at least one eye.
But they did look so dashing, don’t you think? 🙋🏻♀️
In old movies on TCM,the majority of men are wearing ‘fedoras’.
In those days, most men wore Fedoras, period. They were the fashion. All the old photos I see show men sporting them. Even at ballgames! 🙋🏻♀️
Lots of poetic possibilities today so here goes with one. Angela, I’m sure your mind has been galloping along………….
As they cantered along she said “Hey” (Hay?)
We should get married this way!”
Just one little worry….
If in too big a hurry
Would his answer by “Yes”….. or “Neigh?”
Hi Helen. Again, I don’t think any of mine follow all that closely to yours. And again, maybe a blend of some of my thoughts? 🤷🏻♀️
🐎 Getting married, now isn’t that sweet,
And they’ll do it on a novel seat…
Atop saddles they’ll be,
As he, she become we…
And their new life they’ll ride off to greet! 🐎
🐎 All new meaning to the “Bridal” path…
Let’s hope there won’t be a horse’s wrath…
What if the horse says neigh?
And decides ‘stead to stray?
Just imagine then that aftermath! 🐎
🐎 Here’s a couple about to be wed,
And a thought’s gotten into her head…
That they’ll marry on steeds,
What could go wrong? Indeed…
Let’s just hope it’s nothing they will dread! 🐎
A terrific trio Angela. And you trot them out so easily. Have you got any mair? (Scottish version of “more”)
Tk you, Helen. I don’t sleep well as a rule, and last night was more difficult than usual, in light of the day’s events…so this morning I just wrote them out. I do have mair…( I like that…but my spell check is giving me grief)!… I’ll post them. 🙋🏻♀️
Here’s some mair! 😉🙋🏻♀️
🤦🏻♀️ While a horse is a horse is a horse…
And most people would say, why of course…
But get married on one?
Brings to my mind a pun…
I can’t say it though…it’s just too coarse!🤦🏻♀️
👃🏻Horseback wedding? It might be a fable
Would it happen? I guess if they’re able…
But they’ll need lots of flowers,
A horse scent? …Overpowers!!
The reception though…Where? In the stable? 👃🏻
🤷🏻♀️ Here’s the bride…coming out of the stable,
And she’s wearing some fur, I think sable…
Him? He’s dressed in his jeans,
Fits the bill, so it seems…
But to me? It all sounds like a fable! 🤷🏻♀️
I like them all!
Thank you, Helen. I have more too, but I think the quality started going downhill after a while! 🤷🏻♀️
“Saddley” the blind solve eluded me today, but easily saw “idea”. Hats off to those who got it.
SADDLEy? 😉 👏🏻👏🏻! Not to worry, Don. There’s always tomorrow, and the puzzle looks to be a good one! Have a good day! 🐎🙋🏻♀️
Don…I see that you tried including a link in your post. Sometimes they don’t always take. 🙋🏻♀️ https://tinyurl.com/eew9xdp9
Thanks!
YW! 👍🏻🙋🏻♀️
The E’s were wild w 2 each in beret and elude, but those anagrams were a quick solve, and then fedora after a pause.Given the letters and horse theme, bridle or bridal came to mind first but then bride idea was a solve.
Well done, Professor. Here’s to tomorrow! 🐎🙋🏻♀️
Though it didn’t stump me this morning, fedora really was scrambled well. Cartoon solution trotted into place nicely. Wishing all of you a good day. As others have already stated, thoughts and prayers for the situation in Afghanistan. 🥲
Hi Betty. Yes, it was a great anagram. And yes, a lot of prayers. Wishing you a good day too, Betty. Be well and stay safe. 🙏🏻🙋🏻♀️
Wait where did the R come from? Letter I ended up with was
ED BE DA ICI
Hi Rose. The “R” is from Ironic. The last three letters are IRI.
Oy I really looked at my answers…. Can’t spell these days …. Found the R
Not to worry, Rose. You’re hardly alone! Hope your day’s going well. Take care! 🐎🙋🏻♀️
