  1. Good Morning, Everyone…🌳 I PINE FIR THE GOOD OAK DAYS 🌳

    🎶 There under a love lit SUN…What’s lost could be found.But now, no trace of a sound…NO SHADOW OF A DOUBT…I’m faraway bound…NO SHADOW OF A DOUBT…🎶 “Shadow of a Doubt” – Roxette 1988 https://tinyurl.com/eshvf9pw

🌳 Right off the bat let’s set things straight, ALPACA just won’t cut it,
We’re here on private property, so the word I’ll just gut it…
Let’s talk instead about this tree, the tall majestic Oak
And all the HOOPLA that’s involved, with these four Jumble Folk…
It’s not the ODDEST thing of course to see this scene UNWIND
The woman needs to block the sun, whose rays can sometimes blind…
Oak trees grow well in full sun, ACIDIC soil aside
So since she wants FORBID the rays, the tree will well provide
It’s huge now as they’re planting it, but taller it will sprout…
And she will get her shade…without A SHADOW OF A DOUBT! 🌳

“Don’t worry if the work is hard, and your rewards are few…Remember the Mighty Oak was once a nut like you”…(Anonymous) I have a little plaque with this sort of left-handed words of encouragement hanging in my office…And after many, many years, they still make me smile whenever I glance at them…Only thing is…you’d figure that by now I should be an oak…no?

So, in a repeat performance of last Sunday, you could LEAF through your Jumble puzzles, and find all of today’s words. And also, as was last week, we’ve one anagram that’s SPROUTED up before. SEDODT, from January 20th, 2013. And while today’s dialogue PLANTED two huge clues to the obvious solve, two of the Early Birds found themselves up a TREE with two different words. One, ACIDIC, because he had Cicada DRONING on and on in his head, and the other, ODDEST, which ironically isn’t all that odd. Because even though we’ve seen it a gazillion times in the past, it somehow always seems to catch him. I guess he could call it his Achilles CREEL…because for some reason, there’s always something FISHY with him and that word. Anyway…let’s BRANCH out to our cartoon…

While the mighty Oak is the central character in our puzzle today, let’s concentrate on Willow. Standing at what I’m thinking is the back of her property, off a paved patio, she’s hired a landscaper to help her deal with the heat of the imposing sun. And with planting that huge oak tree, she’ll definitely have it MADE IN THE SHADE…So with our dialogue giving us…”This should BLOCK the SUN”, and Willow saying, “It ABSOLUTELY will”…Well, it doesn’t LEAF much to the imagination now, does it? But in case that wasn’t enough, look closely at where the tree’s going into the ground…Jeff’s SHADED the entire area. Brilliant! So…ACORNing to all this? In a NUTshell? Rest assured, she’ll get her shade, without…A SHADOW OF A DOUBT!

So, There you have it Folks, Done! Have a good one. Be well, stay safe…and I’ll LEAF you with a little tree humor…Which tree is more annoying, a pine or an oak? The Pine. Because pine needles, while oak leaves….And on that note…🌳🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 🦙 While there wasn’t A SHADOW OF A DOUBT that the new ALPACA at the Zoo would cause a ton of HOOPLA, and be the ODDEST attraction, he tried to UNWIND from the ACIDIC day he had, still worried about putting up the correct signage, since they needed to FORBID any feeding…🦙

🦙 I guess it’s not the ODDEST thing ALPACA get confused,
With Llamas since they look alike, characteristics fused…
The way that they UNWIND their necks, and closely bring a nose,
While some bristle ACIDIC, others like the way it goes…
They usually cause HOOPLA, you can hear kids laugh and shout
    But I FORBID my kid get close…without A SHADOW OF A DOUBT…🦙

  4. Not my best thinking cap day…..but I did breeze through anagrams and left myself a whole bunch of letters that I couldn’t fit together. But I rose to the task and tried to fit multiple combinations together until SHADOW (somehow) appeared. It was a tough trek to be sure !!!

For you old movie lovers out there….a great psychological thriller from the Hitchcock library, Shadow of a Doubt starts Teresa Wright and Joseph Cotton.

    • Hi Terry. Kudos for sticking with it! As for the movie, I have a cousin who’s a Hitchcock fanatic, and has a ton of his work. I haven’t seen this movie in years, but I think I might borrow it and watch it again. Have a good day, Terry. Be well. 🌳🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. Good morning. Not much difficulty today. I started from the bottom up on the words because Forbid I spotted right away from glancing at the words. I think Alpaca I remembered from before because that too came very quick. Once I put down the letters after awhile the solution finally came to me. Enjoyed your song choice Angela, another first on hearing it. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

    • Good Morning, Paul. Nice going with the solve…and I’m wondering if you picked up on the dialogue…Glad you enjoyed the music, I wasn’t sure you would. Wishing you to stay well and safe too, Paul. Have a good one. 🌳🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. I’m usually gone on Sundays, minus my paper, but with a change of plans , I’m home with my paper in hand.First off, the anagrams went well even hoopla, acidic, and alpaca. Then with the abundance of A’s and ‘A’ appearing twice in the cartoon solution, the complete solution popped into view, for a surprisingly Sunday solution. Not my usual success.

    • LOL! Way to go, Professor. 👏🏻👏🏻! Enjoy your “down time”! 🌳🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. The oak with its copious crown
Will block the sun’s rays beating down.
It will create a light breeze
    And that’s sure to please
The owners – of the coolest house in town!

    • Good Morning, Helen 🌳🙋🏻‍♀️

While the sun is an oak tree’s milieu,
When the heat of the summer is due…
The oak serves you so well,
      As those temperatures swell,
      Letting comforting shade enclose you!

  8. Easy puzzle for a Sunday. Figured out all the anagrams without any difficulty and the cartoon answer just popped right up as well. I do remember that movie “Shadow of a Doubt”. It was a real thriller. Hope all of you enjoy your Sunday.

    • Hi Betty. I agree, easy, BREEZY! Wishing you enjoy your day also. Be well. 🌳🙋🏻‍♀️

  9. The answer came to me but I had to back into Acidic. Puzzle reminded me of “Until it’s Time for You to Go.'” “I was an oak, Now I’m a willow, Now I can bend.”

    • Hi Caroline. And I even named our girl Willow! I have such a love/hate relationship with this song. It brings me back to the time when my Father was ill. It’s such a beautiful song though…hauntingly beautiful. But no bending, this one breaks me for sure. Hope your day’s going well, Caroline. Enjoy! 🌳🙋🏻‍♀️

      • When I read Willow in your post, that helped remind me of the song. Sorry that it relates to such a sad memory for you.

        • …And I just named her Willow because it’s a tree..I never thought of the song. Funny. But after I posted the link, I wondered if you had the Buffy Sainte-Marie rendition in mind…🌳🙋🏻‍♀️

          • Yes, I was thinking of that version, because that’s the only one I’ve heard. I liked your link very much too.

            • Hi Caroline…I had a feeling that was the one! 😉 There’s a ton of versions out there. I like Willie Nelson’s too. 🙋🏻‍♀️

            • Hi Terry. Great song, but no, I wasn’t going for any tree related song…I’m good with my “Shadow of a Doubt”, coinciding with the solve. Willow only came up because Caroline mentioned it. It’s funny how thing segue, right? Hoping your night’s going well, Terry. Take care. 🌳🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. No fuss, no muss, no bother! Anagrams were quick and many were repeats. The solution came almost instantly and like Angela says a lot from the dialogue! Good way to start the week….
Hope you all have a great Sunday without Hitchcock complications

    • LOL! Hitchcock complications!! The thought alone! The man had to be a tad insane! And yes, the dialogue was spot on. Hope you have a great Sunday too, Mig. Be well. 🌳🙋🏻‍♀️

  11. Hi all – Well, we’ve see ODDEST lately. “IC” as a suffix gave ACIDIC. My hardest word was HOOPLA, but the double letter trick showed it. The dialog “It absolutely will” and the letter layout made for an instant solve.

Great details, song and movie references Angela and everyone today; very enjoyable. I don’t know that Hitchcock film.

    Good wishes to everyone.
I’m sure there’s a sentence in those words somewhere, but I can’t see one.

  12. Just in general, even if I solve the whole Jumble, I love seeing your additional puns
    in the answer.

    • Hi Anne.Thank you, it is fun. Thanks for commenting, and hope your day’s going well. 🌳🙋🏻‍♀️
