🎶 NOTHIN’ from nothin’ leaves nothin’…You gotta have somethin’ if you wanna be with me… I’m not tryin’ to be your hero…’Cause that ZERO is too cold for me…🎶 “Nothing From Nothing” – Billy Preston 1974 https://tinyurl.com/vkartbt8
🛹 Maybe if he were BIGGER, he’d have a better chance,
But if you EQUATE Zero…well you’re left to happenstance…
Not saying he can’t do it, but I serve as ORATOR,
And anything but Zero’s gonna give us something more…
This leap isn’t an easy thing, he SHOULD be in good form,
Daredevil ways are dangerous…you go against the norm…
A HYMNAL and some IODINE best to keep close at hand,
In case this stunt don’t turn out just the way that Zero planned…
Brain vs heart the sentiment?…Guess guts becomes the thing…
He says “Alright, let’s do this”…Bottom line? HERE GOES NOTHING! 🛹
Hmm. Extreme Skateboarding. https://tinyurl.com/3w6m26hb Ok, so here’s the rub. Me, personally? Prone to vertigo at the slightest turn? (No pun intended)…Uh…no. Just the thought of these jumps is enough to make me cry Uncle…I’ve ZERO tolerance, seriously. And yet here we are today, faced with a STUNT like this…(Again, no pun intended)…But it is what it is Folks…so I guess we may as well just jump right into it…
While today’s words bring NOTHING new to the table, we do have new anagrams…except for DONIEI, which we saw last December. And as fate would have it, it’s the only one that had one of the Early Birds seeing red. I guess his not getting it first time around stung a little…Anyway, the rest of our words? The guys went through them leaps and bounds…And our solve? It just jumped right off the page!
So, today’s puzzle brings us to an outdoor arena, which might be the Seattle Center Skatepark, in the shadow of the Space Needle. We see a packed house, waiting to see the man of the tower, ZERO, perform a death-defying stunt. Attempting to leap over what looks like 6, maybe 7 mini vans or school buses, he stands at the ready, wearing a star-studded helmet, perched on his skateboard, atop the ramp …And just as he’s about to, in my opinion, trip the fright fantastic, he’s heard saying…”HERE GOES NOTHING”! https://tinyurl.com/2w8vyn5y You gotta hand it to this guy…he knows from whence he speaks!
Jeff’s Gems? Zero giving the thumbs up sign gave me a chuckle…But what really drove it home for me was the ambulance parked at the end of the ramp. Let’s hope there’ll be no need to jump start anything…
So, There you have it Folks, Done. Have a good one. Be well, stay safe…and if you’re going to jump…make sure you do it for joy…🛹🙋🏻♀️
🤷🏻♀️ Knowing he wasn’t the best ORATOR, maybe he SHOULD have taken a pass, but known to EQUATE quitting with weakness, he decided to be the BIGGER man…and likening it to pulling off a band-aid after the IODINE had done its job, he grabbed the HYMNAL, faced the congregation, and whispered to himself…”HERE’S GOES NOTHING”…🤷🏻♀️
📕 They had a BIGGER problem than what they at first had thought,
With IODINE stained pages in the HYMNAL that they bought…
How could they give the ORATOR this book that looks so bad,
They SHOULD have ordered two of them…and now wished that they had
What would this now EQUATE to…what embarrassment to bring?
But left with no choice they just said…”Well now HERE GOES NOTHING”! 📕
Nothing toooo awfully cryptic this morning….Searched for a seven letter word equated to the zero and came up with NOTHING and the blind solve followed. For anagrams, paused on ORATOR for a moment. Did this take place in Seattle??…looks like the space needle in the far distance. Another good song is “I Got Plenty of Nothin'” from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess. A great start to our Sunday. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Hi Terry. Definitely a great start..it’s always fun when we get to see numbers in our puzzles…And nice song choice! Have a good one, Terry. Enjoy! 🛹🙋🏻♀️
Again I was lucky to remember some words from the past -Hymnal and Iodine. Once I gave up on None for the answer, I found Nothing and the rest. I thought the drawing and answer were equally adorable, made even better when Angela pointed out Zero had a thumbs up. Wishing all a pleasant Sunday.
I agree, Caroline. The little Zero is adorable, and the solve…clever as always. Thumbs up to both! 😉 Wishing you a good one, Caroline. Be well. 🛹🙋🏻♀️
Good morning. I was stumped on Orator. I don’t think I ran across that word before. I was stuck for awhile on the cartoon answer and then all of a sudden the answer appeared. Very clever. I might add. Loved your song choice Angela as well as Terry’s other choice. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.
Good Morning, Paul. Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed it. And it’s definitely a clever solve. Hoping you stay well and safe too. Have a good one…🛹🙋🏻♀️
I’m awfully sorry to say
I have no limerick today.
I’ll just wait until Monday
‘Cos it’s never on a Sunday
In the papers for which I do pay!
Hi Helen…
There isn’t a reason to fret
You’ll have one for tomorrow I’ll bet
Our drawing’s real cute
With a solve’s wit to boot
Which at least you can come here to get!
Enjoy your day! 🛹🙋🏻♀️
I did have this ready, just in case! 😉🙋🏻♀️
What bravado this guy does project,
Whereas others would be nervous wrecks…
With a laissez-faire mien
He’s quite into the scene…
As he stands there perching on his deck! *
* The skate deck is the flat board that’s stood on when skateboarding…🛹
Angela – Can the jumble of the day be found on the internet? I know you can locate past jumbles.
Hi Helen. This is the site a lot of us use on a daily basis. https://tinyurl.com/4txxe4s3
You can copy and keep it. For the Sunday puzzle, just scroll down past the Daily, and use the last box on the right hand side. …But ironically, today it printed last week’s puzzle. Here’s a link from my paper, for you to see today’s. https://tinyurl.com/s7bwdswj
Love those puzzles with numbers and thought today’s was really cute. Orator was the one word that took me the longest to solve but other than that I skated right through it all. Have a good Sunday folks.
Skated right through!! 👏🏻👏🏻 Hoping you have a good Sunday too, Betty! 🛹🙋🏻♀️
Hi all – I just happened to recognize what SHOULD have been the hardest word – HYMNAL. It actually took a couple of tries to see BIGGER, and then I was stuck on ORATOR, having to back into it from the very easy answer.
Angela, does the “fright fantastic” describe “the sidewalks of New York”? 😂
I actually saw Billy Preston perform “Nothing From Nothing” when he was on tour with George Harrison, and it got the biggest response of the evening, especially since George had laryngitis and could barely croak out his songs.
Good wishes to everyone. I’ll pass on trying to wedge IODINE into a sentence.
Not much wiggle room with IODINE! 😉 Good wishes to you too, Steve…Have a good one! 🛹🙋🏻♀️
