  1. Good Morning, Everyone. I hope this finds you well…
🔠 NOW THIS BRINGS BACK MEMORIES 🔠

🎶 We’re playing those MIND GAMES games together…Pushing the barrier planting seed…. So keep on playing those MIND GAMES together..Faith in the future out of the now…🎶 “Mind Games” – John Lennon 1973 https://tinyurl.com/3htt8mpf

🔠 Remember back when we were young and learning how to spell?
Those spelling tests that we would take…to see if we learned well?
Some days we were quite nervous, like a PLANK we had to walk,
And words like IDIOT we learned “that’s not how nice folks talk…”
We practiced repetition, the use and the MISUSE,
The lesson was to memorize…and there’d be no excuse
So this girl still a NOVICE, is learning words in kind…
And she’s got Memory down pat…now she’ll def KEEP IT IN MIND! 🔠

So…I’m thinking that after yesterday’s puzzle, whose ‘Subject Matter’ left so many people as ‘Mad’ as a ‘Had-Her’, today should be a piece of cake, no ‘Matter’ how you slice it. Our words, which have all tested us before, hopefully will easily come to Memory…We have ITODI which was used as is back in 2017, and one of the Early Birds blinked at NOVICE. But the solve? Well, today it’s MIND Over MATTER…so let’s just say that it was the cherry on that cake…And they all bit…And with that, let’s just move on to todays sweet puzzle…

Ok…Now how familiar is this? I’m sure all of us can see ourselves in this scenario at one time or another in our lives. A child studying with a parent, or the parent helping a child. And I can atTEST to using the little tricks too. The “sounds like” tricks that helped us memorize, so that one way OR another it ended up spelling success…Let’s face it Folks, you can never go wrong making a game out of learning. So hERe today, with our little girl getting Memory into Memory, all she needs now is to…KEEP IT IN MIND! Well done, David…you’ve spelled it out perfectly!

Jeff’s Gems? For a moment there, the credenza and vase put me in mind of our Brady Bunch cartoon from a few days ago…but then I realized that that was a horse of a different color…But there is a frame, showing a family picture…parents with two children. And Mom’s holding sheets of paper with the spelling words. And of course, there’s that furmiliar cat…which I wish was a puppy…beclaws you all know how I feel about cats…

So, There you have it Folks…That’s all she ROTE…Have a good one…Be well, stay safe, and I’ll leave you with a little spelling humor…A detective, notorious for bad spelling, was interrogating three men, Joe, Tim, and Bob, suspected of robbing a jewelry store. After an inordinate amount of time had gone by, another detective texted him asking if he had any idea who would be giving up the location of the stolen goods. His reply…”Only Time will tell”…Yes, I know, I know…It’s a crime in itself…🔠🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 🔨 Being the NOVICE carpenter, he tried to KEEP IT IN MIND that he was still learning, but he felt like a bit of an IDIOT, since he spent most of his day simply carrying a PLANK of wood here and there, while doing his best not to MISUSE any tool or a certain type of nail…🔨

🇺🇸 The politician had a PLANK, he followed party line,
He’d not MISUSE the platform, and he felt that he’d do fine…
The NOVICE candidate he was, and hoped that he’d impress
Constituents and not look like an IDIOT to the press…
And being new he tried real hard, his ideas well defined…
Eye on the prize, election…of course KEEP IT IN MIND!🇺🇸

  3. Funny that today is all about spelling, and I had one of the anagrams wrong and misspelled – Conive (connive). Fortunately, I was  able to get the answer and find my mistake. Misuse also took me some time until I tried the Mis prefix. Wishing all a good weekend.

    • Hi Caroline. Good Morning. I don’t think you’re alone with Conive, it’s a pretty common oversight, and it’s exactly what one of my friends thought it to be. And I’m glad you got the solve! Enjoy your day, Caroline…Be well and stay safe…🔠🙋🏻‍♀️

  4. First time in 3 days I got both the anagrams and the cartoon solution, though I backed into misuse after having solved the cartoon.Miuse was looking like museum at first.Speaking of spelling contests ,I missed “acquaintance” to be eliminated from a 6th grade contest.FYI I got my second dose of the Moderna vaccine on Wednesdy, and had a minor reaction of dizziness and mild nausea, last night. But it passed and I feel ok today.

    • Good Morning, Professor. Acquaintance can be a tricky one! 😉 Glad you’re feeling well. Have a good one..and stay safe out there…🔠🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. Good morning! So let’s see. I’ve gotten all the anagrams these last four days but not the solve. I get Friday’s ? I believe the guys are telling me to go back to crosswords. Hmmmm. Have a super day, be careful, stay well. Til mañana!

  6. An easy Jumble for a Friday. ‘‘Twas fast as I immediately saw the word MIND then the K was next to a E in the remaining letters. IN & IT were a given.
Doing the Jumbles keeps your mind alert!
    Keep well
    Christian

    • Good Morning, Christian…Yes, the Jumble definitely is a good mind game! Enjoy your day. Be well and stay safe. 🔠🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. Brief pause at misuse but other than that it was a successful morning Jumble wise. Hope all of you have a good day.

  8. Good morning. About time I had an easy day of it. Was able to get the words and cartoon answer without any difficulty. I received the first shot with # 2 son. They were well organized and it went quickly. Plus the fact that we went fairly early. Thank God my last child got it set up for us. I was going to wait for the Johnson and Johnson shot but with everything done for us it was a no brainer to get until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

    • Glad everything went well, Paul. Have a good one and stay safe out there. 🔠🙋🏻‍♀️

  9. Hi all – I always try IUM as a suffix when it’s present, so when that didn’t work, it took a few jumbles to see that MIS as a prefix would work for MISUSE. Otherwise no problem with the words, and the dialog showed the answer.

It was amusing to see the family in the cartoon using tricks like the tricks we use here to help get the Jumble words.
That credenza in the back reminded me of the console stereos that our parents and grandparents had.

    Good wishes to everyone.

The comment section of the voting poll also has someone trying “conive.”
Really nice song, Angela – I hadn’t thought of that in a long time. I was going to come back with a Foreigner tune, but that was “Head Games.”

“The coach said to KEEP IT IN MIND that a gymnastics NOVICE would be an IDIOT to MISUSE the equipment by trying to do a PLANK on the parallel bars.”

    • Hi Steve. Tks. Lennon definitely had a way with words…Enjoy your day and stay safe out there…🔠🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. Just peeled the bandaid off from my 2nd dose of Moderna, no muss, no fuss, no bother….. Going to eat outside a nice restaurant tonight.
Got most the anagrams ok but kept seeing INVOICE where others saw CONNIVE….. Puzzle solution wasn’t there for me. It’s interesting how some people find the day’s J easy and others find the same one tough. Guess that’s how we maintain our interest…
    Au revoir until tomorrow!

    • Enjoy your dinner, Mig. Have a good one and stay safe out there. 🔠🙋🏻‍♀️
