  1. Good Morning, Everyone…I hope this finds you well…
💘 ALL THINGS COME TO THOSE WOO WAIT...💘

🎶 CUPID draw back your bow…And let your ARROW go…Straight to my lover’s HEART for me, for me…CUPID please hear my cry, and let your ARROW fly…Straight to my lover’s HEART for me…🎶 “Cupid” – Sam Cooke 1961 https://tinyurl.com/ff1jl65d

💘 We see our lovers in a CLENCH, the FORMAT now is set,
‘Cause Cupid’s got his eye on them…this day they won’t forget…
The RADIUS of those arrows is always on the mark,
This couple was his target as they sat there in the park…
A VENDOR might be close by, but their eyes are locked so tight,
The EXTENT of their vision isn’t moving left or right,
(And WICKER just don’t weave in…and believe me, I did try)
Instead I’m going to concentrate on that Cupid’s bullseye
The arrow aimed, and what a shot…it hit and definitely stuck…
Our couple fell ‘neath loves’ sweet spell…these two just WERE LOVESTRUCK! 💘

The first thought that came to mind when I saw this cartoon, was the “Thunderbolt”. Being Italian, I grew up hearing about people who were “struck” by it…and fell hopelessly under love’s beautiful magical spell. (Or were doomed to a life of misery…it all depended). “Colpo di fulmine”… https://tinyurl.com/g4gfdq0q, as we Italians call it. The “lightning strike”…Love at first sight…When love strikes you as powerful as a bolt of lightning…so intense that it can’t be denied. It’s beautiful… (Although… it can be messy at times…as I mentioned above, it all depends)…Anyway, I always just took it in stride, figuring it was just one more of those old wives tales that were brought over from the other side… Until…Well, until it happened to me. (Or at least my Grandmother swore it did…Me? I guess, maybe, who knows, I was young…it was a long time ago). Anyway, years went by…and then I saw Moonstruck. https://tinyurl.com/82kde77j And I think that’s when it really hit home. No pun intended. How I love that movie…So today, on the so-called Day of Love, I raise my glass to my beloved Grandmother, to the Italians who sooo hopelessly believe in love, and to Cher, whose portrayal of Loretta Castorini, just blew me away.

So, our words…I guess David, aiming to please, has once again decided that he’ll cut us some slack and not hit us with any new ones today. But he has rescrambled five of the six, and given us a lovely group to work with. The one Repeat Repeat? CIRWEK, which was woven into the Jumble database just last year on March 15th. And it was OAFTMR that had one of the Early Birds crying…”OAF…what is it”? this morning…But with love the name of the game today…he scored…and went on to love happily ever after…

And our cartoon…Ah, love. It’s definitely in the air this morning, but more to the point…it’s in those arrows. And Cupid’s found the perfect target. We see our couple, Bill and Coo, sitting on a bench, locked in an embrace, while unbeknownst to them, they’ve been chosen as the dupes du jour…And I don’t mean that disparagingly. It’s just that they really have no say in the matter, do they?…They’ve been tricked by that magical spell. So even though they may not be true love-at-first-sighters, this is still their magic moment. And when that arrow hit its’ mark? They WERE LOVESTRUCK! https://tinyurl.com/oacq63on…And the rest is His (and-Her) story…

Jeff’s Gems? Cupid’s first arrow missed, and it can be seen skimming the back of Bill’s head, as it falls to the ground. The one that does hit the mark, the “Bullseye”, lands where his arm meets with Coo’s shoulder. And Cupid’s eyebrows, drawn askew, lend credence to his mischievous deed. But something about the cartoon kept gnawing at me. So I followed my heart…And sure enough, two years ago, coincidentally on Valentine’s Day too, there it was…the same arch. https://tinyurl.com/1x6iyhnb So today, I believe we’re revisiting iconic Washington Square Park, in NYC’s Greenwich Village, and we’re at the site of many a lovers rendezvous, the Washington Square Arch. https://tinyurl.com/1jwhs457 And walking beneath it we can see another couple strolling hand in hand. But if you look real closely, smack dab in the middle of the scroll work at top? In place of the Eagle? It’s the just as iconic Jumble “J” encased in a “square”…’Gotta love Jeff’s ARCHitecture, huh?

So, There you have it Folks, Done! Have a good one. Be well, stay safe…And in honor of Valentines Day, and love, and all the Lorettas out there…I’ll leave you with this…🎶 When you dance down the street with a cloud at your feet, you’re in love… When you walk in a dream, but you know you’re not dreaming Signore…Scusami, but you see, back in old Napoli, that’s Amore…🎶. https://tinyurl.com/1anu67gz 💘🙋🏻‍♀️

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY, EVERYONE! ENJOY! ❤️

  2. …And, in all fairness…
To those of you out there who don’t adhere to the belief of Valentine’s Day, this one’s for you…

🤷🏻‍♀️ Oh innocent victims of Cupid,
    Remember this terse little verse,
To let a fool kiss you is stupid…
But to let a kiss fool you is worse…🤷🏻‍♀️

  3. 🪑 Watching as the VENDOR so carelessly handled her WICKER chair, she couldn’t help but CLENCH her fists, wondering to what EXTENT he’d go and if this was his usual FORMAT…and she regretted choosing this place, since within a two block RADIUS there were so many others…and she definitely couldn’t understand why so many people WERE LOVESTRUCK by this guy…🪑

🏭 Within the markets RADIUS, stood VENDOR after vendor,
Delightful for most shoppers, one’d get lost in all the splendor…
One booth had memorabilia, from the Mets CLENCH way back when,
Another’s FORMAT catered to rare, beautiful antique pens….
A booth sold WICKER furniture, another various scents,
This market ran the gamut…took things really to EXTENT
The bottom line, you’d get a deal…you’d get bang for your buck,..
The reason why the shoppers came…and they all WERE LOVESTRUCK! 🏭

  4. The word took about 40 minutes to solve then the riddle only took about 5 minute.

Hope your VD is great 😉

  5. I had a brief pause on Radius but then remembered the word from past Jumbles. Thanks for figuring out that the arc is in Washington Square, Angela. I thought it was the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, which makes no sense in that setting. Wishing all a happy Valentine’s Day.

    • Hi Caroline…I could be wrong…maybe we are in Paris..🤷🏻‍♀️But either way, it’s such a cute cartoon. And it’s shaded pink in color, which gives it a glow! Glad you conquered Radius…👏🏻..And a Happy Valentines Day to you too! 💘🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. An easy Valentine’s day Jumble for us all on this frigid -2 degree day in WCentral Illinois,so much for global warming.Happy Valentine’s Day to one and all.

    • Hey Professor…Yes, I feel it’s an easy one, too. And it looks like half the country’s under a deep freeze…🥶 Stay warm…be well and safe, and Happy Valentines Day to you and yours! 💘🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. Cute & easy puzzle this morning. I can totally relate to “Moonstruck”, Angela. My husband and I both laughed until we cried the first time we watched that movie. It was like watching our own families. The whole cast was terrific. Wishing all of you a Happy ❤️ Day!

    • Cute, indeed! A perfect puzzle for today! And Moonstruck? ❤️ Paisana, till this day it takes my breath away! And I agree, everything about it resonated! Enjoy your day, Betty. And a Happy Valentines Day to you too! 💘🙋🏻‍♀️

  8. Good morning. Had a pause on Radius which is my choice for hardest word. The cartoon answer was less of a problem since the first word was evident For some reason I seem to find that on Sundays the hardest word is usually the sixth, followed by 2. Wonder how true that is. Enjoyed your song choice Angela I also loved that movie. For an American Indian she made you believe she was Italian. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

    • Good Afternoon, Brooklyn…I’m glad you enjoyed it…And I think we’d be hard pressed to find many people who didn’t enjoy that movie…there’s just something magical about it…As for Cher? That Oscar was definitely well-deserved…The degree of difficulty? IDK…But 👏🏻👏🏻 on getting them all…Hope your day’s going well, Paul…Stay safe and keep warm! 💘🙋🏻‍♀️

  9. Hi all – Well, that was handy in that just yesterday I saw RADIUS before seeing UNSAID, so it was easier to recognize today. Aside from that, only WICKER took a few extra jumbles.
My first thought for an answer would have been an even *longer* word – I thought it might be FELL WHOLEHEARTEDLY. When I wrote the letters I saw WERE as the four letter word, and then LOVE in those remaining showed the correct one.

I hope it’s not a bad omen that the man’s getting shot in the back! 😂

    I liked your story Angela:
🎵”Would you believe in a love at first sight?”
“Yes, I’m certain that it happens all the time.”🎵 (“With a Little Help From My Friends”, The Beatles, Sgt Pepper, 1968. What a *great* bass part by Paul!)
    https://tinyurl.com/1to422ac

    Good wishes to everyone.

“The WICKER VENDOR had to CLENCH his teeth to muffle his oath when he saw the EXTENT of the RADIUS of the chair seat that the FORMAT described on his work order required him to produce that day.”

I also first thought of the Arc de Triomphe, but saw that it’s not in the middle of the circular path, and the path has grass in it instead of traffic. The next thing I thought of was the circular walking path we’ve seen in a couple of puzzles, but I don’t remember if there’s an arch beside it. In any case, I’m sure you picked the correct one Angela.

PS – In the voting box it seems that we can vote for the words or “none of the above” but not the answer itself.

    • Shot in the back!? Au Contraire, mon frèer! Look closer…Jeff’s drawn tiny lines of motion, just where the arrow skims the back of his hair, right above that little cowlick, and you can see where it falls behind the bench…The aim was definitely off…but Shot in the back?…Such an unromantic thing to say on a day like today! 😂 😂 Hope yours is going well, Steve..and stay safe out there! 💘🙋🏻‍♀️

    • 💘 An arrow shot into the air, and Cupid’s aim is off,
He looked to get them where they joined…instead he skimmed Bills coif..
That first shot caused him much distress, his right eyebrow shot up,
The second shot was on the mark…He cried…”A bullseye, yup”…
But keep in mind though Cupid’s known to play around with love…
He’d never be unethical while shooting from above! 💘🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. Must be my misanthropic side, but I was prepared to see “dumbstruck” instead of “lovestruck” on the puzzle solve. “Moonstruck” is in my top 50 movies. Great cast.
Definitely knew the couple were struck as I parsed out the circled letters. Another great week of Jumble fun.

    • Hi O…Good to see you back here on the main page. Misanthropic? That’s why I included that “terse little verse” this morning…😉 Wanted to make sure that I covered all the bases! …And I’d have to rate Moonstruck easily up there in my Top 10. Have a good one. Be well, and stay safe and warm. 🥶🙋🏻‍♀️

  11. Oddly FORMAT stumped me! I guess IM in the 2.7% club…. Otherwise it was pretty easy peasy today. I also wondered why the Arch of Triumph was in the background“`thanks for clearing that up. Beautiful VD in Cally South today although quite cold for my taste.

    • Format put my friend through his paces too this morning…And the Arch? Well I either cleared it up, or added to the confusion! 😂 Whatever…it’s all good. And yes, definitely an easy one today. Enjoy your day, Mig…and know that you gave me a chuckle with your cold comment! 😉 You can’t imagine! 🥶🙋🏻‍♀️
