  1. Good Morning, Everyone. I hope this finds you well

🎶 I BELIEVE in the magic…In the power of the soul…Ooh, ooh, one to one’s my equation that carries the nation on to the goal…We’re all brothers and sisters, I’m told…🎶 “Seeing is Believing” – Mike and the Mechanics 1988 https://tinyurl.com/y4brjgqt

👓 Ben Franklin had a brilliant mind, with ideas quite EXOTIC,
He lent his hand to many things, some often thought chaotic
But having vision problems, something VIABLE he’d make,
To EASILY correct what presbyopia forsakes…
A VOYAGE he took overseas, a menu at a glance,
Proved that bifocals he had worn had given him the chance
To know he had a WINNER, he could now see near and far,
The man known to be FRUGAL had now definitely raised the bar
Inventions were his strong suit…he was not one for deceiving…
And once again he proved to Folks that SEEING WAS BELIEVING! 👓

So…let’s be frank…For those in the know, our KEY player here today, Benjamin Franklin, is definitely no stranger to the Jumble World. He’s BEN around for years, and our creators always manage to INVENT one scenario or another to have him star in. And today’s no exception. So even though our puzzle may put you in mind of one from December 2018, https://tinyurl.com/y3vor735, you needn’t be struck by lightning to SEE that our solve begs to differ. And we just gotta love Ben…no matter what situation we’re FOUNDING him in…

Today’s puzzle words mimic last Sunday’s in as much as we have one repeat anagram: NWENIR, from May 7th, 2018. And oddly enough, two of the Early Birds, even after SEEING the solution, were coming up shy a “N”, because they saw the word as Weiner, not WINNER. And I guess I could understand, because looking at how it’s scrambled, that WENIR seems to FLY off the page, so they BIT. Either that, or they need new BIFOCALS… https://tinyurl.com/y47s8l2u …either one…Anyway, after insisting that I contact David, because there was an error in the puzzle, and me telling them to go fly a kite, they finally FOCUSED on the word and found the error of their plays…But trust me, I was this 🤏🏻close to betting each of them a BENJAMIN that they were wrong…yet I let it pass. No fun shooting fish in a barrel, am I right?…But I digress. Our other five words today? Recently seen…All tried and true…there’s nothing new. And except for a little BLINK at VIABLE, they EASILY finished this morning’s VOYAGE unscathed.

Today I’m not exactly sure where we’re finding ourselves. Is it Bens office and his friend Tom has visited, or vice versa? Hard to tell. But we do see Ben, who after developing presbyopia https://tinyurl.com/7qcgqmd as he grew older, invented bifocals, (which he called “Double Spectacles”, https://tinyurl.com/y4zjwzct ) and he’s asking Tom whether or not the proof is in the pudding. https://tinyurl.com/y6sef2md And Tom, apologizing for not BELIEVING in Bens new invention, is heard admitting that yes, his vision has been corrected. Our Doubting Thomas is definitely SEEING better than he ever did before. So it’s a win for Ben…no SPLIT decision here…Well, actually it is!…And the bottom LINE? …SEEING IS BELIEVING…

And as for Jeff’s Gems? The two candles burning in the wall sconces are always a warm touch. And I like Tom’s powdered wig, as well as the period dress. And besides the glasses being worn by both Ben and Tom, we SEE two more pair…one in Bens hand, and another lying on the table. FOUR EYESglasses in total. But what SPARKed my interest this morning? That sheet of paper that Tom’s reading from…and that Franklin puzzle of December 2018 that I mentioned earlier? This was my closing line that day…And I’ll leave you with one of my favorite Ben Franklin quotes…”Either write something worth reading, or do something worth writing”.…And guess what Tom’s reading, written in a beautiful cursive hand, on that sheet of paper? Yep, you got it. What’d ya know! I guess sometimes…”Well done is better than well said.”!

So…There you have it Folks, Done! Have a good one…And as we close out this first month of our new year, let’s hope that things improve here in our country and around the world…Be well, stay safe and warm, and remember… It’s wise to trust Benjamin Franklin’s judgment on most issues…He’s usually right on the money! 👓🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. Hi Everyone –
Voyage took quite a bit of jumbling. The answer came to mind soon after I spotted believe in the letters.
How cool that the puzzle incorporated the quote you mentioned previously, Angela. It’s a good one. President Biden is also a fan of Benjamin Franklin. He put up a large painting of Franklin in the Oval Office.

    • Caroline…I just saw that this had been deleted somehow…🤷🏻‍♀️ And yes, thank you, I saw that about Ben’s portrait…I hope your day’s going well…and that the heavy snow didn’t reach you…🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. ✈️ Always FRUGAL, but interested in things EXOTIC, he hoped that SEEING WAS BELIEVING, and he excitedly looked forward to the VOYAGE, knowing that it was EASILY VIABLE that he’d come out a WINNER…✈️

🚢 “EXOTIC VOYAGE” read the ad, he hoped to be the WINNER,
He filled out applications as he sat down to his dinner
The FRUGAL person that he was, he’d never pay the price,
So winning would be perfect, and a cruise would be so nice…
He knew that it was VIABLE, he’d enter many times,
And hopefully quite EASILY they’d pick one of his rhymes…
So he mailed in his entries, and he prayed he’d be receiving
That email saying that he won…for SEEING WAS BELIEVING! 🚢

  4. This voyage today in exotic Jumble Land makes me feel like a winner for a viable, yet easily solvable, puzzle that is frugal with my time. Seeing is believing.

    • Yes, Seeing is believing…and I see you’ve covered all the bases! Enjoy your day, O…Be well and stay safe…👓🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. No problem w the anagrams, but the extra letters got me as far as the cartoon solution. We escaped the inches of snow w a scant coating over night.

    • Good Morning, Professor…Couldn’t ENVISION the solution, huh? 😉 The KEY was in SEEING…And I’m glad you were spared the snow…Unfortunately, it’s not looking too good for those of us here on the East Coast…Seems like each weather update is proving more dire…😢 Hope you enjoy your day, Prof. Be well, and stay safe and warm! 👓🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. Saw right through the anagrams and cartoon answer this morning. Nice to have an easy puzzle for a Sunday morning. Heard on the news that you Mid Westerners and East Coasters are in for some rather severe weather. Hope all of you stay safe and warm. We’re scheduled for some more rain the next couple of days so hope it materializes. Wishing everyone a good Sunday.

    • Here’s to your rain, Betty…wishing you luck. Too bad we can’t send some of our impending precipitation your way! Thanks for the good wishes…and hope you’re keeping well and safe. And yes, definitely an easy, breezy one today! Hope it’s a good one for you! 👓🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. Hi all – “EASILY” was about to be the only word to stall me, but the “LY suffix” trick came to the rescue.
I didn’t get the answer at first, but seeing SEEING in the letters made for a quick solution.

It seemed to me like we’d seen Ben and the Bifocals recently, so thanks for the link, Angela. (What a great name for a rock band, eh?)

🎵”Fill my eyes with that double vision
No disguise for that double vision
Ooh, when it gets through to me, it’s always new to me
My double vision always seems to get the best of me”🎵 (Foreigner, “Double Vision”)

    Good wishes to everyone.

I decided to try a sentence for those of you who confessed to being big Twilight Zone fans (Betty, et al) based on the episode “The Fever”:

“Franklin Gibbs was far too FRUGAL and strait-laced to ever consider an EXOTIC VOYAGE to a gambling mecca, but when Flora became a contest WINNER and the trip became VIABLE, they both found to their ruin how EASILY seemingly solid beliefs can be seduced.”

    • YW, Steve…So, Ben and the Bifocals? LOL! I guess we’ve heard worse, right? 🤦🏻‍♀️ And I agree..beware those exotic gambling meccas…they’ll get you every time! Have a good one, Steve. Be well and stay safe out there…👓🙋🏻‍♀️

    • Great sentence, Steve. I had totally forgotten about that particular episode, but it was a good one. Thanks.

  8. Nice easy Sunday puzzle, SELYIA was my only speed bump but with my trifocals I saw the light. No snow here although there is plenty way up in the mountains. My dog just sat out in the sun for a while and seemed quite content, kind of like me!

  9. Good afternoon. I had a devil of a time today. The first and last words took forever to get. Then the cartoon answer was just as bad because twice I put down the wrong letters. In reality all three should have come to me way sooner. At least I didn’t give up and stuck with it till I succeeded. Now it’s time to read everybody’s remarks. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

    • 👏🏻👏🏻Paul…for staying with it! Looks like we’ll be needing those snow blowers!💨❄️ Be well..Stay safe and warm…and be careful…👓🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. ***FYI*** David was on TV Friday morning, on the “Morning Blend” show, which airs from Milwaukee. I posted the link for the segment that day, but just in case any of you missed it, here it is again. It’s always such a pleasure SEEING David! https://tinyurl.com/y4wm63je 📺🙋🏻‍♀️
