    🐹🐈 It’s known I’m not a cat person, but hamsters? Probably less…
    And there’s no way I WAVER…just don’t like them, I confess
    I don’t care who’d ENACT a law…it’s something like a TROUGH,
    I look at this cartoon and think…I wish they’d both get off!
    To me just like an ISLAND, I’d want isolation from,
    Both the cat and the hamster…tho there might be sympathy some
    Could I feel for the hamster, and his fear try to assuage…
    Him too so not a cat lover after it RATTLED HIS CAGE? 🐈🐹

    Ok..So no, I’m not a fan. But obviously this guy is. But do people really have both? A cat AND a hamster? I guess so…if today’s puzzle’s any example. But the look on that hamsters face? IDK…Seems like an oil and water situation to me. And I think it’d definitely give me PAWS…having both as pets. But then, what do I know? I’m not FURmiliar wiTH it at all…

    So once again today, we’re playing with old favorites. But I did uncover two new anagrams. RAVEW and NLIDSA. And when it came to CANTE…I CAN’T begin to tell you how many times it showed up. In 2019, https://tinyurl.com/y2bluzb7, the year before THat, the year before THat, the year…suffice to say it’s definitely been around the block…for a good ten years in fact. And GUTORH takes us back to 2015. https://tinyurl.com/yyh8n2sl. Which might explain why it was the one THat stumped 3 of the Early Birds. Maybe it’s habit, but they were putting the “TH” togeTHer to start the word, and I THought…”Should I tell THem, THough THey might get upset”? I remember going THrough someTHing like THis wiTH THem a while back…and I really didn’t want a replay…so I just stayed quiet about it. And eventually, THey were all hit by the THunderbolt…Ok, time to get THese wheels in motion…and tackle our cartoon…

    What we have here today, is one of THose “Cat and Mouse” stories, wiTH Cat and Mouse being defined as a series of cunning maneuvers designed to THwart an opponent. Same THeory…different rodent. And I have to say it again, I just can’t see THese two cohabitating. I THink THat the little Hamster must be constantly harassed by THat Cat. And THat menacing look on HISS PUSS is enough to give anyone a heart attack. MEOW don’t get me wrong, I know cats love indulging their hunting instincts on a regular basis, and supposedly it’s good exercise and it keeps THem alert…but in all fairness, how much can that little guy take? If you ask me, THis keeps up, it won’t be long before we find the little guy REELy asleep at the WHEEL…if you catch my drift..And how CLAWful would THat be for him? I’m sorry, but IMO? It’s far from a PURRfect situation. But as far as our solve goes? Once again, David has come up with a CLAWver little play on words for us…When the Hamster saw the Cat getting too close? You know he probably scared THat CHEEKy little THing half to death. And I’m not KITTEN!

    Eye candy? The water bottle, wiTH THat one drop falling is a nice touch, as is the little fun tunnel play tube…but I have to laugh at the owner chastising the cat. “Scare him”? Well, what did he expect? I mean, it’s pretty PAWSible if you ask me. You mix a hunters PURRsonality, with a tiny critter that’s for the most part tame? You can’t expect it to be PURRty…No, unFURtunately not…

    So, THere you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, stay safe…and I’ll leave you with a little Hamster humor… A pet hamster fell in love with a grumpy brown gerbil. And no matter how people tried to persuade her that it would never work…her love was just in tanned gerbil. Give it a minute…🐹🐈🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Knowing exactly how he wanted his kitchen ISLAND, he refused to WAVER, so when the contractor tried to ENACT a plan that to him resembled a TROUGH through the middle, it definitely RATTLED HIS CAGE…🤦🏻‍♂️

    🚢 He wasn’t one to WAVER, his trip had all been planned,
    And nothing they’d ENACT right now could make the trip be canned
    He’d cruise upon the ocean, he’d eat as from a TROUGH,
    The food would be so plentiful…there’s nothing he would scoff
    An ISLAND paradise awaits, he’ll definitely be engaged…
    He’s leaving behind everything that once RATTLED HIS CAGE! 🚢

  4. Hi Everyone – I tried hard but had to give up on the answer. I wrongly assumed the “IT” before the answer referred to the hamster, so that the three letter word would have to be ITS, not HIS. Great puzzle and drawing, though. Funny that you found a song, Angela, with the same name.

    • I first had THE CAGE of the bat and the rest didn’t make any sense so I tried ITS CAGE and still no go! Because of IT, I never thought of HIS or HER. Conclusion… bad grammar!
      Oh well!!!

  5. Good morning. Really enjoyed today’s jumble. Nothing came easy for me. I had a long pause on each and every word plus the cartoon but I stuck with it and got everything. Sitting here trying to figure out why it took me so long to get. Oh well, should be glad I got it. Listening to your song choice Angela reminded me of Dick Clark when he played new records for the kids and they would vote which ones they thought would make it.   6. Trough was looking like through at first,but then it joined the other anagrams as being solved.As far as the cartoon solution,rattled had me stumped,but after looking that up,rattled his cage was an obvious solution.I guess it is Friday,isn’t it?A snowy cold one at that.

It’s cold here.. but I’ve got my fingers crossed that the snow stays at bay…THat “TH” caught my friends THis morning too, Prof, so you’re not alone THere!   7. Good workout this morning after an easy week. I saw “cage” first and then figured out the middle word was his rather than “the” so that left rattled. Great song choice, Angela. Happy Friday to all.

  8. Hi all – This would have been harder if I hadn’t just recognized ISLAND and especially ENACT from previous uses. Saw the ‘OUGH’ combo but thOUGHt it was THROUGH for a minute before shrinking it down to TROUGH.
    The answer took a minute. I figured the form was “xxxxxED HIS xxxx” and the remaining letters showed REACTED, but a further look showed CAGE and the solution. Hmmm — RAT-tled his cage; just noticed that.

    Speaking of shrinking, I’m pretty sure anyone who saw “The Incredible Shrinking Man” had this scene pop into their head as soon as they looked at the Jumble cartoon today:

    One of the cartoonists I follow has four cats and several rats as pets, but she noted that she keeps them separated!
    I also saw that play tube as a cardboard toilet paper roll from the spiral pattern on it, and especially since it seems to have been chewed on.

    “The opponents tried to RATTLE HIS CAGE, but the governor of the ISLAND wouldn’t WAVER in his determination to ENACT a waiver to allow construction of a large TROUGH for the bioswale.” (That’s my new word, and I’m sticking with it! 😂)

  9. My comeuppance after an easy week! Could only find 2/4 anagrams and no resolution for the solution………. Good cartoon today and overall a great Jumble! Imagine what the weekend will bring? Absolutely great weather in LaLa Land right now, been in the mid to high eighties; however it is dry and the Santa Anas are blowing so fire is in the mix. Have a good!
