Good Morning, Everyone…I hope this finds you well….
🤸🏻 STAND ON MY HEAD? YOGA..TTA BE KIDDING ME 🤸🏻
🎶 And betcha by golly, WOW..You’re the one that I’ve been waiting for forever…And ever will my love for you keep growin’ strong…Keep growin’ strong…🎶 “Betcha By Golly, Wow” – The Stylistics 1971 https://tinyurl.com/ybqt7pac
🤸🏻 A woman stands upon her hands, and ODDLY she may look,
She’s SWEPT up in excitement, figuring she’s got a hook
She calls out to her daughter…and says…”WICKED, don’t you think…
That I am standing upside-down, and I doubt that I’ll sink”?
The daughter does appreciate her Mother looking fit,
But wonders can she keep it up…can she AFFORD the grit?
Well Mom is looking pretty good…she’s doing well right now…
And that’s what made the daughter smile…as she looked and SAID WOW! 🤸🏻
So this has been driving me crazy… There was this TV show a while back, Mike and Molly. And there was a scene in one of the episodes, where Mike was telling Molly what a good Mother she’d be…and he bought her a necklace that read “MOM”. But facing one another, when she looked at it, it was upside-down..so she read “WOW” instead. And that’s the first thing that came to mind when I took a look at our puzzle this morning. Boom! The MOM is UPSIDE-DOWN… So the girl SAID WOW! Automatic solve. But the euphoria was short lived, because I must have phrased my search for the episode six ways from Sunday…and I just kept coming up empty…like running into a wall…nothing matched. And I so wanted you all to see the clip, because it was endearingly funny. But…What can I say? Wow…what a bummer…
Anyway…Our words. Once again, we’ve nothing new to write home about, and just as yesterday, we’ve one Repeat Repeat. DYDLO, from March 10th, 2016. And nothing HELD the Boys Up this morning…it was clear sailing all the way through…So, let’s just EXERCISE our right to move on to our cartoon…
Mom’s bedroom, I guess. And we see a lithe, youthful Mother, doing a handstand against the wall. Proud of herself, and rightfully so, we hear her call out to her daughter to come and try it. And the daughter, very impressed…SAID WOW! Well, she does also ask her Mother what she’s doing upside-down, (rightfully so)…and there’s your catch…MOM – WOW. Notice how the word MOM is printed all in caps, whereas the rest of the dialogue isn’t? Very clever. And I wonder if David saw that Mike and Molly episode too…
Eye candy? Just the one…Take a look at MOM. HEADstand? Uh…Look closer..👀…It’s a HANDstand. So…HEADS up, Guys..Somebody dropped the ball. (Or maybe I’ll go out on a LIMB and just call it a typo).
So, There you have it, Folks, Done! Have a good one…Be well, stay safe…And I’ll leave you with a little Headstand Humor… A German 6 walks into a bar. The barkeeper yells “Hey..Get out, we don’t serve any 6’s here”. The 6 leaves, goes outside, does a headstand, and reenters the bar, this time on his hands. The barkeep yells out…”Hey…Wait a minute…aren’t you the 6 that I just threw out of here”?…And the 6 replies “Nein”. Ahem…Yes, I know…I’ll just show myself out…🤸🏻🙋🏻♀️
🤸🏻…A little oddity this morning. The words “Upside Down” are used in both the dialogue and our question. We don’t see that very often…but then again, today? Everything’s topsy-turvy, so who knows…🤷🏻♀️
Angela:
Great song! I also like this performance, even if the dance moves are sometimes awkward. https://tinyurl.com/ybqt7pac That lead singer had an incredible voice!
I used to be famous for my headstand too, although I haven’t done it in years.
Hi Mike…Long time no see! How’ve you been? How’s the puppy? Yes, it is a great song…and Russell Thompkins voice is definitely amazing. I think he still performs, too…on those Oldies shows on PBS. And I did see your clip this morning…In fact it’s still open in my browser! Now I’m wondering 🤷🏻♀️why I went with the other instead, when this one is much better! I think I’ll do an edit and slip this one in. 😉 Headstands aren’t that easy…I give you props. But you did see that the woman’s doing a Handstand though, right? 😉 Hope all is well Mike…and that you’re staying safe. 🤸🏻🙋🏻♀️
Mike…I replaced the clip. The sound’s better on this one too. And speaking of sound…Sir Paul? Still keeping us entertained? The man amazes me…78 and it looks like there’s no stopping him…🎶👏🏻👏🏻! 🙋🏻♀️
The pandemic, with its confinement, has brought us a whole new interest in exercise and yoga. Here’s an article I found about the awesome benefits of Headstands. I think you’ll find it very interesting…🤸🏻♂️🙋🏻♀️
Sirsasana or headstand is one of my favorite postures, and has been for many years. There was a time when I would request a headstand on every class I went to whenever the instructor asked us what we wanted to work on. To this day, I practice headstand for at least 10 minutes, 6 days a week. This posture may seem like just a fun party trick, but it is actually so much more. The health benefits of headstand and its variations are many.
Before you begin, remember that while you are learning headstand, it is best to practice with a teacher until you find your bearing. This posture is healing, but only if you are doing it properly and safely. If you have any neck or back issues, you will most likely want to skip this posture until you are recovered. It is also commonly advised not to go upside-down if you are pregnant or on your moon cycle. You may also work your way slowly to this posture by joining this free 30-Day Yoga Challenge, especially if you’re new to yoga or haven’t practiced in a while. All that said, if you have a healthy neck and back and know this pose, here are my top ten health benefits of headstand!
1. Relieves Stress – Headstand is known as a cooling posture, meaning that it helps you to draw your attention inwards. This posture is extremely helpful if you are having anxiety, stress, fear or otherwise worrisome thoughts. Combine headstand with long, slow breathing and you have a recipe for stress relief.
2. Increases Focus – When you turn upside down, you are increasing the blood flow to your brain. This can help to improve mental function, and increase you sense of focus.Along with helping to reduce fear and worry, this posture will improve your ability to keep your mind sharp and clear.
3. Improves Blood Flow To The Eyes – When you flip over, you will be sending extra oxygen and nutrient rich blood to the head, and that means more will be getting to your eyes. This can help to prevent macular degeneration and other eye issues.
4. Increases Blood Flow To The Head And Scalp – Headstand is an awesome posture if you want to optimize the nutrient flow to your head and scalp. You can help your body deliver extra nutrients and oxygen to your scalp, thereby improving nutrient delivery to your hair follicles by turning upside down. You never know, perhaps a consistent headstand practice will help you grow a more luscious head of hair!
5. Strengthens Shoulders And Arms – While you are holding yourself up in headstand, you should be pushing down into the ground with your forearms, utilizing the strength of your arms, shoulders and back to keep the pressure off of your head and neck. This is an awesome posture for improving upper body strength and muscular endurance.
6. Improves Digestion – When you allow the effects of gravity to be reversed on your digestive organs, you will help to move stuck material, release trapped gases, as well as improve blood flow to the all important digestive organs — increasing nutrient absorption and delivery to your cells. Again, if you combine headstand with focused belly breathing you will have a double whammy effect.
7. Helps To Flush Out The Adrenal Glands – Going upside-down will squeeze your little adrenal glands, which are responsible for the production of those so-called stress hormones. The cleaner your adrenal glands are, the more optimal they will function. This will help you to adapt to stress better!
8. Decreases Fluid Build-Up In The Legs, Ankles, And Feet – Edema in the legs is no fun, and it can happen if you tend to spend long hours on your feet. Reversing the effects of gravity on your bodily fluids will help to flush out built up water in the legs, relieving the uncomfortable feeling of edema.
9. Develops Strength In The Core Muscles – Headstand is a major core workout. You will rely on your core strength to hold your legs up and keep your balance throughout the pose. Having a strong core makes you more durable and less prone to injury in yoga, and in life overall.
10. Stimulates The Lymphatic System – Your lymph system can also be called your garbage dump system. This network of nodes and fluids help to remove waste products from your blood. When you flip onto your head you will be directly stimulating your lymphatic system and thereby helping to remove toxins from your body.
Sirsasana is definitely not a pose I would recommend you get into on your first day of learning and practicing yoga. But I do highly recommend you keep at it because it’s a great posture with tons of benefits! What’s YOUR take on headstands?

Angela–at first I thought it was you talking about all the headstands you do, but now I realize you were quoting somebody else.
On Paul McCartney–I just watched an interview of Alice Cooper by Dan Rather. Rather commented on Cooper still writing new songs at 71. (I think this interview was a couple of years old. Alice is now approaching 73.). Alice Cooper replied, “I still think I have my best songs ahead of me. McCartney still thinks he has his best songs ahead of him.”
Me? Gadzooks, Bud! 🤦🏻♀️You do remember that I have a serious vertigo problem, right?. 😂 (But you did make me go back just now to be sure that I said in the opening that it was an article)! McCartney? You know me, the man can do no wrong in my eyes…and he obviously does still have a wealth of music in him…🎶🙋🏻♀️
🤷🏻♀️ Knowing full well that they could no longer AFFORD the lavish lifestyle they had once lived, he found it ODDLY surprising that his wife would get SWEPT up in yet another spending spree…and when confronted, she just looked at him with a WICKED grin, and SAID “WOW..I’m busted”! 🤷🏻♀️
🧹 A WICKED little smile, an ODDLY slanted grin,
The woman SWEPT the kitchen floor while the wheels turned within…
Could she AFFORD the time away…work it all out somehow?
She plotted, planned and realized yes…and then sighed and SAID WOW! 🧹
Good morning. Looks like they slipped in a Monday jumble. No problem with the words or cartoon answer. Enjoyed the song choice Angie. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

Hi all – Got all the words, and then thought “What’s up” for the answer. I still had to write the letters and think before realizing that the pun was WOW being MOM upside down.
Besides Mike and Molly, people were saying that the word ‘MOM’ was in the ruffled collar on the ‘Wendy’s’ logo, but the company said it was unintentional.
Good wishes to everyone.
This must be Reading Comprehension 101 Day 😉..because I had to read your line about Wendy’s twice! I thought you were saying that people said that to you today, about the puzzle…and I couldn’t make the connection about the upside-down and Wendy’s! 😂 But I wish I could have located that clip…🤷🏻♀️
Cute puzzle this morning. Everything fell into place nicely. Have a good day all.
Good Morning, Betty…yes, very cute…And a good day to you as well. Stay safe out there…🤸🏻♂️🙋🏻♀️
