  1. Good Morning, Everyone. 🎭 KNIGHT OF THE SOUND FABLES 🎭

    🎶 ‘Cause when you’re a CELEBRITY…it’s adios reality…No matter what you do, people think you’re cool…Just ’cause you’re on TV….🎶 “Celebrity” – Brad Paisley 2003 https://tinyurl.com/yyh4syra

🎭 Sir Anthony can thrill me, he does ENTICE me so,
But sometimes I get ITCHY from the fear he can bestow…
It’s like a Home Run DERBY, you see who is the best,
I feel I’m ‘oer a BARREL, mesmerized, and there’s no jest
His acting keeps me so transfixed …I easily agree
That knighting him just added more to his “CELEB-BRIT-HE”…🎭

Ok…so. Sir Anthony Hopkins. https://tinyurl.com/y375eshe. Knighted in 1993. And an American citizen as of the year 2000, where as part of the US pledge of Allegiance, he was called upon to read the line, “I further renounce the title of nobility to which I have heretofore belonged.” Hmm. So did he SIRrender the title? Is he now a MID-Knight? TBT? I’m SIRprised to say that no, not really…But am I disAPPOINTed by the confusion? No, not at all. IMO? Sir Anthony would still be one of my top ten picks at any Talent KNIGHT! And with that said…let’s kick off our day…

Once again, our words are old favorites, with two of our four anagrams having graced our pages before. CITYH scratched the surface back in 2016, and RYEDB rode through last year. But it was BARREL that had a few of the Early Birds feeling empty. For some reason, they were seeing Baller…and no need to tell you…that just fell SLAT. And as for our solve, (the slight Quotation Trepidation notwithstanding), there was a bit of a pause…but with Celebrity coming to mind, they ended up All-STARS. OK…our cartoon…Let’s ROLE…

February 23rd, 1993, the Ballroom at Buckingham Palace. We see Anthony Hopkins, kneeling on the investiture stool, being Knighted by Queen Elizabeth for his service to the arts; with Jeff giving us an audience of six looking on. A great actor, of stage and screen, Hopkins had definitely become a CELEBRITY over the years. A CELEB as they say in the business. And being the BRITish citizen that HE was..WALES…need I say more? The Queen knighted a “CELEB-BRIT-HE”! And here we have another example of David’s classic sWORD Play!

As for Sir Anthony? I think one of the most chilling performances I’ve even SCENE was his portrayal of Hannibal Lector, in “Silence of the Lambs”. Until this day, just the thought of it is enough to conjure up a KNIGHTmare…

So, There you have it Folks, Done…Have a good day Everyone…Be well, stay safe, and I’ll leave you with a little known fact about Dr. Lecter. As a psychopath, he most likely suffered from depression along with his madness, and macabre sense of humor…And Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) are often used as treatment. But of course, as with most medication, there are certain things one must avoid. And guess what’s taboo with MAOIs? Liver, beans…and wine. ‘Snuff said…🎭🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. To all our readers celebrating Hanukkah…I wish you and yours a season full of light and love…And may you be blessed with good health, peace, happiness and prosperity…Chag Sameach…🕎 🙋🏻‍♀️

    • Good Morning, Bruce. I can’t speak for David, but I’m figuring he was going for HE as in Sir Anthony being male…and also HE rhyming with the TY in Celebrity. And as for the pronunciation, again, as far as I know, David doesn’t use foreign words, and /or foreign pronunciations. All in all, IMO, it’s a brilliant PUNch line! Have a good one, Bruce. Be well and stay safe. 🎭🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Failing to ENTICE the crowd to join in the BARREL DERBY races, he kept hearing that they were too ITCHY inside, and that no one was willing to risk a rash just to gain a little CELEBRITY at a State Fair…🤷🏻‍♂️

🎅🏻 The fuzz just made him ITCHY, and he knew knew not what to do,
He sat upon the BARREL stool, the beard hanging askew…
Now sorry he allowed them to ENTICE him into this,
He wished he’d picked the DERBY booth instead of “Santa’s Bliss”
How would he act all jolly and pretend that he felt glee?
With cheeks afire hardly feeling St Nick’s CELEBRITY! 🎅🏻

  4. Good morning. Another bummer for me today. I got all the words but fell short on the cartoon answer. The dreaded quotation marks did me in again. Got to admit it’s cool. Thanks Angela for the enjoyable song choice. I’m gonna have to watch it again it was so good. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

    • Good Morning, Brooklyn. I doubt you’ll be alone today in the quest for our solve. David definitely ROLE-ed out a good one…And I’m glad you enjoyed my song choice. I’m a huge Brad Paisley fan, and this one just seemed to fit…Plus the video is jam-packed with CELEBRITIES, which makes it even more appropriate…and fun! Enjoy watching it again…it’s well worth it! Have a good one, Paul. Be well and stay safe out there…🎭🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. 🎬 As of this past March, Anthony Hopkins has won one Oscar and been nominated four other times. He’s acted in some huge films as well as some smaller more intimate ones. With the ability to be funny and charming in one role, and then become terrifyingly intimidating in another, it’s no surprise that he’s been a part of some highly-acclaimed films. These are his five best movies, according to Rotten Tomatoes. Of course, there’s a slew of other polls out there ranking his body of work, but I went with this one..🎬

    1. The Dresser https://tinyurl.com/y5oy27f2
    2. Shadowlands https://tinyurl.com/y49bec9t
    3. The Silence of the Lambs https://tinyurl.com/jqqsg6a
    4. The Remains of the Day https://tinyurl.com/ht57p7y
    5. Howard’s End https://tinyurl.com/y6cqm3c7

  6. I was in good company being stumped by the cartoon answer, given the number of votes the phrase got in the poll.Itchy also gave me a reason to pause .As far as the cartoon solution, the quotes and hyphenated words just did me in,though celeb should have been more obvious to me.I concur in wishing our Jewish friends a happy and blessed Hanukkah season,

    • Good Morning, Professor. I hadn’t checked the poll numbers…but I just did after reading your comment…And whoa! It’s looking like a runaway! So yes, you’re definitely in good company. (But then again, you always are around here…we enjoy your company)! And I have to agree…with the dialogue, Celeb and Brit were definitely in the script! Wishing you a good day, Prof…Be well and stay safe…🎭🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. Sorry. The He at the end is absurd. There is no way to rationalize that bad choice. A minus one today, fer shur.

  9. I join those on here and many fellow Jumblers in not getting this answer. I did think of Brit but that’s as far as I got. Entice took me the longest of the words. Wishing all a good weekend.

    • Good Morning, Caroline. I’ve missed you these past few days. I hope all is well. Today’s solve? I can’t help but think of this scenario…”The envelope, please”…The one David definitely pushed! 😂 Have a good one, Caroline. Be well and stay safe out there…🎭🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. Add me to the list of folks who were stumped by today’s cartoon answer. No problem with the anagrams, and like Caroline, I saw Brit but just couldn’t seem to come up with the rest of the answer. It’s been an easy week Jumble wise so guess it was time for a Speed Bump. Happy Friday to all!

    • Hey Betty. Yes, it seems like a speed bump for sure…I guess maybe David felt he went easy on us long enough..😉 Happy Friday to you too, Betty. Be well and stay safe…🎭👏🏻

  11. Hi all – Took a second look to get ITCHY, and then BARREL took me the longest to get despite the double R’s. No idea about the answer, but BRIT stood out when I wrote the letters and led to the pun (which seemed to be more of a stretch than usual.)

    Good wishes to everyone.

Thanks for all the info and puns about Sir Anthony, Angela.

“The Canadian roller DERBY team rubbed a BARREL of Labatt’s Blue with poison ivy and sent it to their opponents in the afternoon (like a Trojan Horse), hoping to ENTICE them to try it and become either too drunk or ITCHY to compete that night.”

    • Hey Steve…YVW. Even though the good Sir can scare the bejesus out of me, he still remains a very interesting study. Have a good one…and stay safe out there. 🎭🙋🏻‍♀️

  12. Words came easy, not the solution. I too always have probs with the quotation mark solutions. Maybe tomorrow Sleepy Hollow will somehow come into play?

    • Sleepy Hollow! LOL! A horse of a totally different color! 😉 But not tomorrow… Have a good one, Mig. Be well and stay safe…🎭🙋🏻‍♀️

    • Sorry you didn’t fare well, Agnes…but I like the Royally! 👏🏻👏🏻! Enjoy your day, and stay safe out there…🎭🙋🏻‍♀️

  13. I got the words easy today, with a little longer on ‘entice’; and the word Brit made sense & then the ‘Celebrity’ did too, but that ‘H’ in there threw me off, & I still don’t like the answer. So there! ha
