  1. Good Morning, Everyone… 🦶🏻 THE AGONY OF DE…FEET 🦶🏻

🎶 Everybody get on your FEET…You make me nervous when you’re in your seat…Take off your shoes and put up your FEET…We’re doin’ a dance that can’t be beat…We’re BAREFOOTIN’…we’re BAREFOOTIN’…We’re BAREFOOTIN’, we’re BAREFOOTIN…🎶 “Barefootin’” – Robert Parker 1966 https://tinyurl.com/yyffszzh

🦶🏻 UTOPIA one could define as being free of pain,
When bodies aren’t in ACCORD, our spirits surely drain
Your THROAT hurts or a FUNGUS lies all ugly on your neck
We seek a Doctors expertise…sometimes we’re nervous wrecks
As different ailments do ASSIGN a specialist to its field
We’re at the mercy of these Folks, in their hands do we yield…
And here we see a man feeling…OBLIGE comes into mind
His foot pain now has vanished and he wants to do in kind…
The Doctor tells him he’d be glad to know our guy has told
His story, since Doc’s need right now is GAINING A FOOTHOLD…🦶🏻

Today’s words…All old favorites, seen from mid-2018 through last month, with six brilliant new anagrams. The Early Birds TREAD lightly, labeling them a STEP up from our usual fare…

But the solve? C’mon now…A SHOE-in, no? The Doc? He’s HOLDing the guys FOOT…And he’s new to town and trying to build a practice…to GAIN clientele? He’s GAINING A FOOTHOLD…https://tinyurl.com/y5dygu96 …David definitely NAILed it with the idiom, and Jeff’s depiction was right in STEP with him…And I don’t know about you guys, but I just couldn’t help but get an immediate FOOT up on this one…

So, There you have it, Folks…Done. Hope you all enjoy your day, be well and stay safe out there. I’m going to lie down for awhile…I dropped a dictionary on my foot yesterday…and this morning I woke up with thesaurus toe…🦶🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Despite having a sore THROAT, and dealing with an impending FUNGUS forming on his foot, he still wanted to be in ACCORD and OBLIGE his friends, so he didn’t complain when they decided to ASSIGN him to head the decorating committee…definitely not UTOPIA, but he’d do his best as far as GAINING A FOOTHOLD went…🤷🏻‍♂️

🍃🎋He hated to admit it but he knew he must ASSIGN,
A day or two in order to OBLIGE over-grown vines…
The garden so unruly, a FUNGUS even grew,
What once looked like UTOPIA, now scraggly with mildew…
His THROAT itched from the pollen, but he had to keep ACCORD
His heart just wasn’t in it but he’d fall upon his sword
He’d get out there and clean it up before weather turned cold…
And hoped he’d have an easy time with GAINING A FOOTHOLD 🎋🍃

  3. Hi Everyone –
Oblige and Utopia were tough, though I’ve seen them before. My first thought was Utopia would have “out” in it, and I also tried the Up trick. I had to guess Gaining would be in the answer before I could get Oblige, and I needed the whole answer to back into Utopia. Liked your toe joke, Angela.

  4. Oblige gave me reason to pause followed by oblige that I was trying to make into global. Then assign was looking like signing, and utopia like output. But after finally getting the anagrams, and the presence of foot in the cartoon solution, success was at hand.

    • Good Morning, Professor. Depending what method you use to solve, the general consensus this morning was that while the solution was an easy guess, the anagrams were the greater challenge. I guess we can say that David pulled off an amazing FEET today! 😉 Be well Prof, and stay safe out there…🦶🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. Good morning. Angie could you please post today’s jumble even the kiddie one. An advertisement is covering last weeks answer for both plus part of children’s jumble. Thank you.

    • Paul…I took my paper in this morning at 4:30, but never looked at it. I just did now. And as I guess I should have realized, it’s printed the same way in my paper…and unfortunately, the digital copy follows suit…the Ad is covering the bottom on the Kids puzzle. But in another strange twist, I’ve just checked 6 on line sites, and various newspapers, and none of them are printing todays Kids puzzle. Every one of them is showing the Frog puzzle from last week. Someone definitely dropped the ball…I’ll keep checking, but I don’t think we’ll have any luck with the Kids puzzle today…🤷🏻‍♀️

The alligator was stressed out because he was 6 letters?

  6. Good Morning.
He bought a new Honda ACCORD, and was in UTOPIA. His THROAT became sore from screaming his joy, which caused a FUNGUS to form on his vocal cords. To OBLIGE his wife, he tried to ASSIGN her the the old car, and thought he was GAINING A FOOTHOLD, but as usual he lost the duel, and now driving the old Toyota Prius. Anom. for safety sake.

  7. Hi all – I got the answer from the dialog and letter layout. I had to pause at two words – FUN-gus wasn’t much FUN, and then I’m sure I’ve been stuck on UTOPIA before, but didn’t recognize it. I saw PATIO and then put the leftover U at the beginning and saw it.

I hope nothing else besides the thesaurus REX your day Angela.

We woke up to lightning, thunder and rain this morning. Pretty mild by others’ standards but extremely unusual here for this time of year. We usually only get lightning once every 2 or 3 years around here and significant rain doesn’t show up until November. And of course it’s still very unusually hot, even overnight, which is usually cooled by the fog. Next up, Fire and Brimstone! 😂

    Good wishes to everyone.

“It was no UTOPIA to find that a THROAT FUNGUS was GAINING A FOOTHOLD in his esophagus, but at least he reached an ACCORD with his insurance company that would OBLIGE them to ASSIGN a specialist to his case.”

    • Hey Steve…Bite your tongue! 😉👅 Let’s not joke…Have you heard about the Spotted Lanternfly that’s invaded Jersey and found it’s way onto Staten Island? Ranking up there with the Locusts? 🤦🏻‍♀️ https://tinyurl.com/yylohe9q SMH!!! How many plagues were there altogether? 😱 Be well, stay cool…and safe…And here’s to Mother Nature..🍷..she’s definitely proving to be one hell of a formidable opponent! 🦶🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  8. Put my best foot forward and was able to solve the puzzle this morning without difficulty. Thunder woke me up too this morning, Steve – agree it’s most unusual weather. Still very overcast here and it looks like we might have more rain. These times are truly surreal. Feel like I’m living in The Twilight Zone. Stay well all.

    • I like your best foot forward, Betty. 👏🏻👏🏻, and I agree…an easy, breezy one. Good Morning….The weather’s so strange all over the country…my heart goes out to those losing their homes with the floods and fires…devastating under “normal” conditions…but now with the virus?…terribly frightening to boot. And I feel as you…like we’re always waiting for the other shoe to fall…no pun intended….Be well, Betty…and stay safe out there…🦶🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  9. Good afternoon. A little late in posting but am with family out in the island. Three of us worked on the cartoon answer and I told them a couple of time that Angela says to study the picture, the answer is in the picture. After a few seconds the two of them at the same time yelled the answer. I haven’t looked for awhile to see if you got me a clear picture. If not than thank you for trying. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

    • Hey Brooklyn…LOL! Yes…You always have to study the picture! 😉 I’m sure by now you’ve read that I couldn’t get you the drawing for the Kids puzzle, but the Professor has listed the words and the question for you. And I’m glad to see that you’re feeling better..Safe home, Paul…Talk to you later…🦶🏻🙋🏻‍♀️
