Our cartoon? Sliding glass doors, vertical blinds, kitchen ceiling fan, palm trees…I’m thinking Florida. And I say kitchen, because there’s an island visible on the right. Plus the room leads out to the rail-enclosed deck, which makes sense…Beautiful hardwood floors, matching the wood grain of the fan. I’m thinking oak. The obvious enthusiasm of our couple? I’m thinking maybe a little bit too much TENANTcity…(Too much of a stretch?…Hmm, I tried). Anyway, they’re definitely making it easy for the rental agent. I mean at LEASE ask a question or two, no? But then again, maybe we came in late…and they’ve already gone through the COMPLEX issues…Bottom line, it’s an empty apartment…and they’re definitely getting a “VACANT-SEE”. It’s a brilliant pun, sharing SPACE with a cartoon that leaves no ROOM for doubt…So, There you have it, Folks…Done! Ok…funny…But c’mon..No mas! The man’s 5 months shy of 80, and he spends every waking hour sitting behind a desk…besides, he said he was nervous. And keep in mind, he preaches Safe Distancing, right? So, again, as I told the Professor, he stayed true to form! 😂 And I know you’re a fan…The rain? We’ve been going thru it for days now…The Lous are outside as we speak…building the ark…🤷🏻♀️💦

A wee bit wide of the plate regarding Dr Fauci’s toss.The pic in today’s cartoon reminded me of our first apt when I was in grad school,It was 1 big combined room,with a side kitchen island,bedroom and bathroom.In the big room, almost as vacant as the cartoon apt,sat a recliner,a tray table,a portable TV,and my parents’ red chrome kitchen table.Almost looked vacant!

I’m sure you loved it…and I for one wish I had one of those chrome kitchen sets from back in the day…I have vague memories of my Parents having one. After a year there,we moved to an apt in Illinois,a 2 BR one in a new bldg,and yes we moved our red/ chrome kitchen set with us.We thought we were living like kings,after all instead of a $300/ month grad assistantship ,I was now earning $1000/ month as a new first year asst Professor.

Hi all – No problem with the words. I tried the ‘UN’ trick on the last word, but of course although the UN did go together, it wasn’t at the beginning, but I saw BOUND anyway. I needed the letters to get the answer. I saw SCENE in them, but the V and C let me ‘see’ VACANT.
Thanks for the writeup and song Angela. I’m not up on my Harry Chapin except for his biggest hits, but he surely was a great talent. Nice talent on all the puns, too, especially ‘tenacity’ (is that right?) and the big winner, ‘low maintenance’.
