  1. Good Morning, Everyone. I hope this finds you well… 👂🏻WAXING POETIC? 👂🏻

🎶 You went away and left me long time ago….Now you come back knockin’ on my do’…I HEAR you knockin’…But you can’t come in…I HEAR you knockin’…Go back where you been…🎶 “I Hear You Knockin’” – Fats Domino 1961 https://tinyurl.com/ybz6d36n

🗣 “There’s never been a better time for hearing loss“…is one
Of many a wise ADAGE about hearing that’s been done…
I don’t mean to be SURLY, but in light of life right now?
The less we hear, the happier…from Covid to the Dow…
We see a Doctor looking sharp, his GOATEE neat and trim
His hair while not a THATCH of it…it somehow does suit him
He’s tending to a patient who was worried ‘bout his ears
The problem though an easy fix…the results GLAD TO HEAR! 🗣

Well at least he’s not saying…”My ear HERTZ”…right? But what’s got me stuck this morning? What is that pictured on the poster on the wall? Is that a little Hummingbird hovering near a persons ear? Forget my hearing…it’s my vision that may be going down the TUBES…and it’s EARitating!…I just can’t make SENSE of it…So I need your AID…Here’s the cartoon… https://tinyurl.com/ycofy4vp. Enlarge it and see if you can help me identify it, so I don’t have to play it by EAR…

Be well, Everyone and stay safe…And I’ll leave you with what I think is an EAResistible bit of Otic humor…A man goes to the doctor and says, “Doctor, I think I’ve got a problem with my ears.” The doctor replies “Well can you describe the symptoms?” The man says “Sure. Marge has blue hair, Homer is fat & bald, and Bart…” Ok…I’ll wait…🗣👂🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

      • 🤦🏻‍♀️ Set ‘em up…I’ll have whatever it is 🍻 you’re having! 😂😂

  2. 🧔🏻 Considering that he had a THATCH of hair on his head, his sparse GOATEE was an odd contrast, and he wasn’t GLAD TO HEAR anyone mention it…but instead of becoming SURLY, he should have thought of a witty ADAGE to respond with…🧔🏻

🤷🏻‍♂️ He built himself a shed out back, topped off with a THATCH roof
They told him it would hold up…but he wished that he had proof…
He stood and stroked his GOATEE, and SURLY thoughts took hold
An ADAGE or two came to mind…he doubts what he’s been told…
He’s worried ‘bout bad weather…was the advice really clear?
He needs to double-check…and get something he’s GLAD TO HEAR 🤷🏻‍♂️

  3. Good morning. Even though I was able to get everything I had a real tough time. It was a far cry from the first three days. Enjoyed the challenge. I really couldn’t pick which was the hardest as they all gave me cause to pause. Loved you song choice Angela, his album might have been the first one I bought. One of my favorite singers. You never heard a bad thing about the big guy. I’m pretty sure I also have him on 78 and 45rpm. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Good Morning, Brooklyn…Thank you…I’ve always enjoyed his music too. And yes, Fats was a good man, whose music influenced a lot of the greats that came after him. Whenever I think of him, the first thought that comes to my mind, is when President Bush replaced his National Medal of Arts that he’d been awarded by President Clinton, after he and his family lost everything in Hurricane Katrina. I remember being so touched by that gesture…Funny the things that stick in your head, right?…Anyway…I’m GLAD TO HEAR that you stuck with the puzzle…👏🏻👏🏻. Well done! Have a good one, Paul. Be well and stay safe out there….🗣🙋🏻‍♀️

  4. Fats Domino was one of my favorites of that era, thanks for the reminder.I paused over the spelling of goatee, but otherwise the anagrams were a quick solve,as was the cartoon solution.Have a Tony the Tiger great day.

    • Tony the Tiger! LOL…I like the word Tiger! Good Morning, Professor…And you’re welcome…I think a lot of us are Fats Domino fans…What’s not to like, right? He was definitely one of the good ones…Hoping you have a great day too, Prof. Be well and stay safe out there…🗣🙋🏻‍♀️

    • I was just reading about Thurl Ravenscroft, who was the voice of Tony the Tiger and also sang “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” on the TV special.

  5. Hi Everyone –
The answer came pretty easily but I had to back into Goatee.
I also enjoyed the video of Fats Domino. His name is familiar but I don’t know his music well.
I was able to enlarge the Jumble, Angela. It looks to me like one of those doctor diagrams showing the internal hearing components.

    • Hi Caroline…Good Morning. Kudos! 👏🏻👏🏻 Thank you…You’re right. It looks like the Semicircular Canals, the Auditory Nerve, and the Cochlea as shown in the right side of these diagrams. https://tinyurl.com/y9founsf
TBT, I never thought to look! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Where was my head at this morning? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Hummingbird, indeed! 😂 😂…I definitely need some rest! As for Fats Domino…Here’s a compilation of some of his biggest hits.. https://tinyurl.com/y7sj35zx. He was definitely an Ace! Have a good one, Caroline. Be well and stay safe out there…🗣🙋🏻‍♀️

      • Thanks so much, Angela, for the link. I do remember some of these hits and will have to listen to the full versions.
I can definitely see the hummingbird if I look from a different perspective.
Wishing you and everyone the same.

        • You’re very welcome, Caroline. I hoped it would help ring a bell. So often we may know a song when we hear it, but can’t come up with the name of the artist to attribute it to. As for my bird? 😂 Tks… I guess so…Anything’s possible, right? 😂 🗣🤷🏻‍♀️

      • Good evening. Thank you Angela for that montage of some of his best hits and others singing too. It brings back fond memories since my wife and I were together when she was 11 and I was 13. We had a long and great run. Take care.

        • You’re very welcome, Brooklyn. A great run is putting it mildly…you guys definitely hit it out of the park. You’re a rare breed, Brooklyn…and I applaud you…And if you’d like to hear any one of the songs in its entirety, let me know. I’ll be happy to put it up for you. Hope you’re enjoying the night…we’re in for a heat wave…😱 🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. For some reason goatee took me the longest to solve this morning. If I remember correctly it has tripped me up before – all those vowels?? At any rate I finally figured it out and the final puzzle solution fell into place easily. Enjoyed the video about hearing, Mike. Thanks. Have a good one fellow Jumblers.

    • Definitely the stumper, Betty. And you may be right about the vowels…Wishing you a good one, too. Be well and stay safe…🗣🙋🏻‍♀️

    • I scored between Wow & Fantastic which seems pretty good. I’ll have to try again with my AirPods to see if there is any increase. Glad you enjoyed! 🙂

  7. Hi all – I recognized THATCH and, moving too quickly, thought I recognized OUTAGE also. When the letters didn’t work, had to go back to unscramble GOATEE. The rest was easy.

Had to laugh, because the doctor in the cartoon looks almost exactly like my ear doctor, who has done this for me a couple of times. One time he used “gentian violet” for a slight infection, which started a very interesting conversation about old-time medicines like that and quinine which are still useful today, especially since he had just gotten back from helping out in some third world countries.

Fats Domino – First thing I think of is “Blueberry Hill”; the second is Ricky Nelson covering “I’m Walking” on The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet.

    I liked your Simpson’s joke Angela, but don’t have a 🐐- I mean a 🐄 – if nobody else does.

    Good wishes to everyone.

“You may not be GLAD TO HEAR that there’s an old ADAGE that if you neglect your GOATEE so long it builds up THATCH, you’ll become as SURLY as an old goat when you try to de-tangle it.”

    • Fats…There was another compilation video that listed all the artists that covered his songs…he definitely influenced a lot of music…I’ve had my ears done a few times too…especially since I have that Eustachian tube thing with my vertigo…The bark is a lot worse than the bite, right? 😂 And speaking of old meds…Do you remember something called Argyrol? I was young, but you’d swab your throat with it…and Poof! Like magic…sore throat gone. I think they stopped selling it in the 90’s. God, I loved that stuff! 😂 Have a good one, Steve…and the joke? Tks, I thought you’d appreciate it…😂 But the animals? 🤷🏻‍♀️I’m lost! Be well…and stay safe…🗣🙋🏻‍♀️

        • LOL…No, I recognized the animals! 🐐🐄…. I just didn’t get the connection. I had to Google it…(I never saw the Simpsons!…But did I “read” about it)???? 😂😂 Tks, Steve…🙋🏻‍♀️

      • Hi Caroline…LOL! Tks! That’s why I tacked on the “Ok, I’ll wait”…A few of the Early Birds had to read it twice before they gave me the thumbs up! 😂🙋🏻‍♀️

  8. The ” hummingbird” hovering near the ear is most likely the 3 tiny ear bones, the hammer, anvil and stirrup.

    • Paul…Now THAT trio I remember from school. 😉 But I’m not sure if that’s what we’re seeing…Take a look at the picture in this link…Anyway…whatever it is…it is…I’m done…my head’s starting to HERTZ! 😉 Have a good day, Paul. Be well and stay safe out there????🗣🙋🏻‍♀️
