  4. Good morning. I guess my head isn’t in to jumble today. I had a few phone calls to make and I decided to look up the answer. The words were no problem but I drew a blank at the cartoon answer and then one call came and I had to return the call then texting so I just figured I’d bow out. Heard the sad news last night about country singer Charlie Daniels passing away. Loved 💕 his song The devil went down to Georgia. A few years ago I was listening to that song with my youngest son and daughter-in-law and we had a big laugh as she knew every word to that song. In her household she heard it all the time. Until tomorrow stay well.

  5. I got knocked off course by thinking Dirth (dearth) instead of Third. Usually I have an inkling if I’m misspelling a word but not this time. Eventually, though, I did find my mistake once I spotted Strokes.

  6. I also saw dirth before third,and then was stumped on colder ,but then being a golfer,brush ‘strokes’ came to mind.Speaking of golf,I almost was done in by the heat this morning on the golf course,with the temp of 88 contributing to a real feel temp of 103,ouch!

  7. Great minds think alike, Caroline and Chuck. I too saw dirth and colder took me fairly long to solve. However, with the K, I figured strokes would be in the answer so backed into third to arrive at brush. I thought it was a clever puzzle this morning. I can’t believe Ringo Starr is 80 years old. I remember when the Beatles came to San Francisco’s Candlestick Park. It was an absolute mad house. Have a good one, all.

        • Oh, Betty..I almost forgot. My Bobblehead came last night. But my regular mail person is on vacation, and the sub is doing two routes, so the pkg wasn’t dropped off until around 8. I’m a little obsessed…(maybe a lot, IDK) 🤷🏻‍♀️…but I do a lot of on-line shopping, and I leave all the boxes in my entry hall for 24 hours before opening. I know it might sound weird, but I read it somewhere, and we’ve lost too many souls here to be cavalier about anything. I’d rather be (neurotically) safe than sorry…Anyway…I haven’t opened the box yet…but I can’t wait! Just a fee hours more! 👏🏻👏🏻🧍🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  8. Hi all – I had to jumble COLDER several times for some reason. Since the cartoon was at a golf course I was *sure* the answer would contain ROUGH, like ROUGH SKETCHES or ROUGH DRAFTS, but when I ran head-on into the absence of a ‘G’, I had to go “back to the drawing board.” I saw STROKES when I wrote the letters, and then the rest.

    Ringo turns 80, eh? Well, he was (is) the oldest Beatle, but John would have turned 80 this October 9 as well. I’ll post this link again to one of my favorite clips, where Ringo explains and demonstrates his technique for “Ticket to Ride” and “Come Together” (and how being left-handed influenced them.) And for me, “Rain” remains unsurpassed.
