  1. Good Morning, Everyone…🐕

    🎶 And they called it PUPPY LOVE…Oh, I guess they’ll never know…How a young heart really feels…And why I love her so…🎶 “Puppy Love” – Paul Anka 1960 https://tinyurl.com/v446jhd

🐕 Pray Daisy Dog’s not sickly, that the hospital’s just routine,
That we see her NESTLE on Claire’s lap as well as ever been…
    Her yearly check-up isn’t due…MUGGY July’s that date,
Perhaps our Claire and David are just getting new things straight
(The WITCH looks like an issue, I don’t think it’s gonna fit
This puzzle and my rhyming won’t EVOLVE enough to wit)…
    As I said I hope that Daisy’s well…and C and D are merely getting,
A new Dog Doc and that is why they’re doing all the VETTING…🐕

Unlike the look of distrust Daisy’s sporting, I trust you’re all well. Please be careful, and stay safe out there. 🐕🙋🏻‍♀️

    • Angela:
Thanks for posting the link to the article on the word “vetting”. I don’t remember hearing the word used as “a synonym for evaluate” until about 10 years ago, and then it was all over the place, especially in political discussions. So I was surprised that the article says that usage started in the early 1900’s.

      • Hi Mike. How’s it going? You’re welcome. I was thinking along the same line, and had a feeling that if the answer didn’t automatically come to someone, it would be because the word eluded them. As for the date, I was surprised too. And you’re right, it was like beating a dead horse there for a while…and I think it was a new word to me then too. Now I notice that it shows up once in a while in a crossword puzzle…. But it sure is a clever solution…I LOL’ed! Be well, Mike. Stay safe. 🐕🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. Good Morning, Everyone….Here’s a little something to help us pass the hours…

  3. 🦹🏻‍♀️ Braving the MUGGY heat, she grew weary of the too-NESTLE a fit of the WITCH costume, and wondered if the designers could EVOLVE it into a better prototype by VETTING other outlets…🦹🏻‍♀️

💇🏻‍♀️ The day started out so MUGGY, and she knew her hair was done…
And she thought instead of looking like a WITCH, she’d try a bun…
You’d think that after all this time, it somehow could EVOLVE
Into a tamer version…then the problem would resolve…
But for now she’d simply NESTLE it as neatly as she could,
Atop her head and hopefully it looked best as it would
She’d hate to show up all unkempt and end up just regretting
    That she didn’t research products…and she’d suffer for not VETTING… 💇🏻‍♀️

  4. Good morning. I’m going to call today a success even though I made a big boo boo. It took a little longer to get the six letter words than the five but not enough to say I racked my brain to solve them. In putting down the letters for the cartoon, my V in Evolve somehow looked like an N. I double checked my letters but still didn’t pick up on it. So now I come up with two possible answers, Netting and Tenting. I finally give up ready to voice my displeasure on what I think is a poor finish and low and behold it is I, for not being able to read my own printing. Nice work today Angela, enjoyed everything. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • LOL! I VET you’re glad you took that second look, huh? 😉 Good Morning, Brooklyn, and thank you. Be well, Paul…stay safe. 🐕🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. Hi Everyone –
Like Paul, I’ve sometimes misread my letters. My problem today was a different one I often have. I misspelled two words – twich and lesten – which slowed me down.
I also salute the health workers, like those in Betty’s family, and others on the front lines, many without the equipment they need to protect themselves.

    • Thank you for thinking of my family, Caroline. They’re all doing well, working hard but feeling optimistic. The other evening there was a great racket outside. It was our neighbors clapping and banging pots and pans to thank health care workers. Hope all is well with you and your family.

      • Glad to hear your family is doing well, Betty. Same for us, thanks. Did you see my late post about Schulz and Harriet Glickman because I thought of you?

  6. Hi all – Two of the words made me think of “gummy Velveeta”, but the real ones appeared quickly except for seeing TWITCH before WITCH. The answer was very cute.

I was also impressed at how the cartoon could show a suspicious look on Daisy so easily.

    Good wishes to everyone.

“The WITCH knew she had to NESTLE with a black cat in a MUGGY swamp for a hundred years for her ultimate powers to EVOLVE.”

  7. I too saw twitch at first but other than that hiccup the rest of the words and cartoon answer fell into place. Take Care all.

  8. I was not on my best today. Slenet was what lost me. So, I couldn’t get the final word either!
