Good morning. Seems like a continuation of Monday. Another easy breezy jumble from the words to the cartoon answer. Nothing more to say except to stay safe and God welling we will be back tomorrow.
But I hope not a SUPERNOVA! Like Betelgeuse 100,000 year or so from now. Fortunately the Sun is far too small to explode into one.
That is fortunate, but not much consolation for us because the Sun will expand and engulf the earth in about 7 billion years. There’s an old joke about a student freaking out in astronomy class. His classmate asks what’s wrong, and he says the teacher said the Sun would swallow the Earth in 7 million years. The friend says, no, he said 7 *billion* years, and the guy goes, “Oh, what a relief!”
Good one! Steve, don’t know if you remember in the movie Annie Hall the young Woody Allen character tells his mother he stopped doing his homework because the universe was expanding. His mother responds, “What’s it your business!”
No, I didn’t remember that, thanks!
I found the Annie Hall clip:
Thanks again!
Sorry, I thought I did the tiny url.
All is well on the Western Front,in WCentral Illinois. No problem w the anagrams, after a brief pause on sushi and gather, followed by a quick almost blind solve of Superstar.Speaking of Superstars, I guess all of us Jumble solvers are Superstars in our own minds.
Hi Everyone –I needed the answer before being able to back into Sushi. I thought lifesaver might be a blind solve but the letters weren’t there.
We’re on a roll folks. Another quick solve this morning. It’s a beautiful sunny day here so hope it’s pleasant in your little corner of the world too.
Hi all – Yet another easy one since I’ve finally seen SUSHI enough to recognize it. Interesting that the double letter trick worked twice in OPPOSE, splitting the O’s and combining the P’s.
I’m really impressed by both Caroline and Jim coming up with possible answers that fit the number of letters!
Good wishes to everyone.
“It was not a MERRY occasion when the band of meat lovers and the country music SUPERSTAR decided to GATHER at the city council meeting to OPPOSE replacing the barbecue joint with a SUSHI bar.”
Oh no,sushi replacing real meat? Say it isn’t so.
The council rejected it! 😂
Good Afternoon, Everyone. I hope this finds you well…Stay safe…☀️🙋🏻♀️
☀️ So studying the Galaxy, the had a lot to learn,
And fascinated thought about the sun and all it’s burn…
Some thought it very MERRY while no one did OPPOSE
That things must GATHER the right way, or there’d be fry and froze…
They took a break for SUSHI, which usually was par…
And when they got back after lunch, they’d define SUPERSTAR…☀️
A wonderful cover of a great song by Bonnie Bramlett of Delaney and Bonnie and Friends, also a hit for Rita Coolidge.
🎵”Your guitar, it sounds so sweet and clear
But you’re not really here
It’s just the radio”🎵
Hey Steve…It has a very rich history, indeed… https://tinyurl.com/ychejass
But once the Carpenters recorded it? They owned it for sure…Hauntingly beautiful rendition…
Be well, Steve…stay safe. 🌟🙋🏻♀️
🌯 They didn’t OPPOSE the opening of the new SUSHI Bar, but they weren’t exactly MERRY about it either…since they knew that the neighborhood kid who labeled himself an internet SUPERSTAR would soon have all his followers GATHER there…🌯
🌟She always appeared MERRY…not much did she OPPOSE,
She and her friends would GATHER, and mostly shop for clothes…
Sometimes they’d go for SUSHI, but never traveled far..
A tightly-knit community…and she their SUPERSTAR! ⭐️
