NC   OT   HRI   UGE   =     RIGHT ON CUE

Good Morning, Everyone!           ๐ŸŽฑ CUE DO SOMETHING TO ME ๐ŸŽฑ

๐ŸŽถ Wake up Maggie I think I got something to say to you…I suppose I could collect my books and get on back to school…Or steal my Daddy’s CUE and make a living out of PLAYING POOL..๐ŸŽถ “Maggie May” – Rod Stewart 1971 https://tinyurl.com/yd4ndwzq

๐ŸŽฑ You know today there’s nothing that you can’t see on TV,
From situation comedy to absurd reality…
So should Pool be your FANCY, just search ABOUT your screen
And guaranteed you’ll come across a show to suit your needs.
Get comfortable and settle in with drinks and with a snack,
Some SHRIMP, a BURGER, whatever…and watch as players rack…
A Tournament in full swing, entertainment just for you…
Check listings so that you can watch and be just RIGHT ON CUE! ๐ŸŽฑ

๐ŸŽถCUE do something to be…Something that simply mystifies me…๐ŸŽถ Well, maybe not today. With four Sweet Repeats, we find ourselves in very good company. No SCRATCHING our heads, or juggling BALLS…it was all fair GAME. One or two of the Early Birds FELT a little tic with SHRIMP, and maybe took an extra BITE out of BURGER…but all in all? We saw them all in 2018, and it was easy to STICK with them! So, CUE the Music..It’s time to HUSTLE over to the MAIN EVENT!

While we’ve visited POOL ROOMS twice this past year, today we’re UPPING our GAME. Finding ourselves at a TELEVISED POOL TOURNAMENT, I’m figuring Jeff’s PLACEd us in Vegas…We see a Gray tuxedoed announcer, facing the Camera and ready to CUE the ACTION. Our PLAYER, shown LINING UP his BREAKING SHOT, is heard asking..”Now“? In 3-2-1…NOW! Action..RIGHT ON CUE! Good one, David! You’re always a WINNER!

Ok, eye candy…I think I’ll try an aBRIDIGEd version today. Black silhouetted spectators behind the ropes. Our PLAYER, dressed in a Blue shirt and Black Bow Tie, stands ready to BREAK loose…Our mustachioed Announcer, smiling, but looking a little CUEless, has his finger raised INDEXcating it’s time to start SHOOTing…On the Camera, we see a Red TelePrompTer, and Jeff’s showing the Announcers’ image on the filming side… But the MONEY SHOT? Look real closely at the Microphone. The Networks Logo? It’s an 8 BALL in motion! We gotta’ CHALK that up to Jeff’s whimsy! So, There you have it Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone! And rememberโ€ฆDonโ€™t let anyone CALL the SHOTS for you in lifeโ€ฆTake a STANCE, and a page from Teddy Rooseveltโ€™s PLAY Bookโ€ฆSpeak softlyโ€ฆand carry a BIG STICK! ๐ŸŽฑ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  1. There’s something FANCY ABOUT a SHRIMP BURGER. (Don’t you just love it when the sentences write themselves?) Happy New Year!

    • LOL! That one surely did! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐ŸปVery well said! And short and sweet to boot!
I FANCY a BURGER over SHRIMP, unless there’s Hot Dogs ABOUT.๐ŸŒญ๐Ÿ˜‰
Good Morning!…Good to see you, Mike, I’ve missed you. And a very Happy and Healthy New Year to you and yours! ๐ŸŽฑ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  2. Good morning. No problem with three of the words but did take an extra bite at Burger. In fact,I got the cartoon answer on the blind and realized the three letters I needed for a completion and hence ,the final word. Another cute remark. Well done Mike, short and concise. Angela great job from beginning to end. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Good Morning, Brooklyn. Yes, it is a cute, easy one today. And I RELISH your BITE out of BURGER! MUSTARD made you laugh too, huh? ๐Ÿ˜‚ Thanks for the Shout Outs, and how’re we feeling about Rod Stewart? Hope CUE have a good one, Bud! ๐ŸŽฑ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  3. I also had a problem w burger trying to spell it ” Berger”.Once I got that straightened out,the solution came readily to mind.Congrats to my OSU Buckeyes on their Rose Bowl win!

    • Congrats..but that 4th Qtr? Phew! Tell the truth, Prof….a few gray hairs, no? Crazy game! Have a good one, Chuck! ๐ŸŽฑ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

        • Oh, no doubt about it, no argument there. Nice win. I just meant that it must have spiked the old blood pressure when they went at it like that…It got really scary there for a minute! ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  4. Count me in with Paul & Chuck pondering over burger. I too saw berger and figured it out after I had completed the cartoon answer. It always surprises me when a seemingly simple word can trip me up. Itโ€™s 42 degrees in S.F. This morning Angela so out come the gloves and/or mittens. Happy Wednesday everyone.

    • 36ยฐ in Oakland this morning, Betty. Cold again tonight, then warmer with rain in the forecast.

      • Hey G…We just hit 36ยฐ. Looks like we got ourselves a Hat Trick! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

        • I guess so; as our old UHF TV station KICU used to call themselves, โ€œThe Perfect 36.โ€ Weโ€™re promised a warmup though; 36 overnight tonight, 41 tomorrow night, then 46 Friday night, so things are looking up. ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

          • ..A veritable heat wave! The weather’s so irrational…We’re up, we’re down…I just pray the snow stays away. โ˜”๏ธ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

    • Good Morning, Betty…Paul and Chuck, and Sal in Florida and Frankie in Chicago…it’s Nationwide! And here I am, after eating so much good Italian food this past week, craving Hot Dogs and Burgers! ๐Ÿ˜‚ What makes me tick? I have no idea! 42? Really? I’m at 41! How odd is that? Well get ’em out of “the mothballs” and put them on, Woman!..And I’m sure they’re as fashionable as I imagine! ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ˜‰ Wishing you a Happy Wednesday too, Betty! Enjoy!

      • In Austin it’s 36 at 1 p.m., and it’s been raining all day and supposed to continue. A good day to stay inside!

        • 36? Yikes! Craziest weather, right? And then we have the naysayers who’d like us to believe that global warming is “fake news”.SMH. But I’m with you, Mike…Staying indoors. Old movie, good book, better music…and cocooning. Does us all some good every once in a while…Hope you’re enjoying it…โ˜”๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  5. It’s ABOUT time restaurants serve a BURGER with a FANCY side sauce like SHRIMP cocktail!

    • I like where you’re going with this, Chuck. I’m so big on Dipping! And not just on the dance floor either! ๐Ÿ˜‚ I’m always playing around with side sauces and embellishing on some of the old favorites…Good Afternoon, and Kudos! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Well done! And I’m enjoying the takes on this today, seeing everyone’s different TASTE! But I changed it up…
The Dutch BURGER, insisted he be addressed as such, even though it was just a FANCY name ABOUT a council freeman…and ‘oft times behind his back he was really referred to as the Little SHRIMP! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

    • Thank you, Chuck. I love the phrase,”Tickle ones’ fancy”. …The possibilities are endless! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  6. Hi all – SHRIMP was the only thing to take an extra look until I saw the SH that could go together.

Personally, Iโ€™d rather watch televised darts or curling than pool.
Hope everyoneโ€™s recovered from the holidays and has a great day today.

Thanks for the details Angela. Wouldnโ€™t have seen that logo.
๐ŸŽตโ€Or find myself a rock โ€˜n roll band
That needs a helping handโ€๐ŸŽต. Nice, and that song also comes in handy for posting in late September.

    • Televised Darts? What’s your POINT? ๐Ÿ˜‚ ..๐ŸŽถ Hey, G…๐ŸŽถI laughed at all of your jokes…๐ŸŽถ, but besides the song’s late September lyric line, am I missing something? You know I’m beat, you’ll have to give me a hint…You’re welcome on the 8-Ball, and I’m glad you’re BEHIND it! ๐Ÿ˜‚ TBT, I was RACKed with laughter this morning when I zoomed in on it. I just FELT for sure that Jeff’d SCRATCH one out for us! Hope you’re having a good one, Bud! ๐ŸŽฑ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

      • No, just the โ€œLate Septemberโ€ made it suitable. I was surprised when I looked back then to see that everyone has the lyric as โ€œlaughed at all of your jokesโ€. Itโ€™s actually โ€œI laughed at PART of your jokesโ€ which to me has always made it much more sly, understated, realistic and honest, and one of my favorites. ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

        • It may SOUND like that was his intent, but Sir Rod had nothing sly or understated going on, when he reminisced to pen that one, that’s for sure. You know the back story right? Her name MAY not have been Maggie, but there was no MAYbe about her doing a number on him. He was young, she was older. He was “new” she wasn’t. She “had her way with him” (Family Blog)! and cast him aside without a second thought…Sort of a case of “Nod, Bod..thank you Rod”! And he never forgot it…Boy only laughed to hide his real emotions…๐Ÿ˜ฅ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป
