HAPTC = PATCH
ZIYZD = DIZZY
GLIEBR = GERBIL
FUTEFB = BUFFET
CARTOON ANSWER:
USING THEIR HIGH BEAMS AT NIGHT ON THE UNFAMILIAR ROAD WAS A – – –
ATHDIGRIBE = BRIGHT IDEA
Happy Monday, everyone! There’s no better way to start off our week of jumbling duties than with a brand new clue word. PATCH made its appearance into gameplay this morning but it was instantly visible upon first glance. DIZZY and BUFFET met the same fate leaving GERBIL as the only word that took some extra time to work through. Our oldest word of the day ended up being DIZZY where it was scrambled as ZIDYZ on 1/28/17.
Today’s cartoon featured a simple drawing of two people driving in a vehicle at night. The cartoon sentence informs us that the couple is cruising in unfamiliar territory and that they’ve decided to use the assistance of their high beams to illuminate the roadway. The passenger can be seen using her cell phones GPS in an attempt to identify where the sharp curve in the road is and we see a picture of it on her handset.
Since the cartoon is showing us a nighttime scene, the interior of the vehicle is shaded mostly black. We do see a faint glow from the vehicles instrument cluster as well as one around the gear shift. The only extra detail that I could identify within the panel was the 6-point deer that is semi hidden behind some shrubs in the top left corner.
The final solve was an anagram consisting of 10-letters. Even though the layout didn’t give anything away, the leading nature of the cartoon sentence made this one an instant solve. I wish all of you a merry Monday, and I’ll see you right back here tomorrow! π
I’m in good company w my vote of gerbil being the toughest anagram,at least so far this morning.The other words were a quick solve as was the final “bright idea” solution.We’re still on the road but the online version came through for me again,thanks for the link.

He thought it was the Nicotine PATCH making him DIZZY…until he realized that it was the GERBIL caged atop the BUFFET, going around and around …and around that wheel….

Ah Fair lady,thou knowest me well. We passed each other in the big cloud in the sky. The song fit the cartoon but not my taste. Your use of the words were Earl like. That wheel going around and around and around would give anybody a headache.

Hey, Brookkyn…Yes, I do know you well! π Orson’s a Pop Rock band, I knew it wasn’t something you’d go for. I can listen to them, but I wouldn’t go out of my way,,,Gerbils? Headache? They can drive you crazy! I never understood the fascination with them…but then I have the worst fear of any kind of rodent. Have a good one, Brooklyn! π ππ»

Good morning. I’m reading your post Mike and I see your remark about the six point deer and I was surprised as heck that I missed it. I grabed the magnifying glass and low and behold there it was right where you said it was. The way you described everything was just as good as the picture itself. Thanks for all you do. Today’s jumble was a pleasure with Gerbil being the hardest of the other three other words combined to get. The cartoon answer was illuminating. After about two minutes that light bulb went off in my head and checking the letters proved me right. Another cute finish. Until tomorrow stay well.

Youβre most welcome, Paul! It was so tiny and easy to miss if you breezed through the dialogue and sentence. Wishing you a wonderful week! π

After getting DIZZY on his exercise wheel, the GERBIL ran amok on the BUFFET table and lost a PATCH of his fur.

Hi all – GERBIL is another one of those words I was talking about that I should recognize from getting stuck on before, but no. Keep wanting it to be BILGE or OBLIGE. Other than that, no problem.
I hope our characters get their eyes back on the road soon. Although her navigation app can tell them that the curve is a short WAZE up ahead, I doubt that it knows about the deer!
Happy Monday everyone!

EAGLE is another one that always gets me, especially when itβs scrambled as LAGEE. Hope youβre having a great day, Steve! π

The PATCH over his eye made Warren BUFFET DIZZY as a spinning GERBIL.

You’re welcome. Anytime! But no “but” is called for. It’s funny! I like it! It’s me, I’m just a little out of it today. And I have been told that I’m a little slow on picking up on humor. πππ»
