GYANT – TANGY

CANTE – ENACT

TIRRYA – RARITY

COYCUP – OCCUPY

CARTOON ANSWER:  WHEN THE KITTEN SCRATCHED HER ARM, SHE SUFFERED – –

TANECAIUP = “A-CUTE” PAIN

Good Morning, Everyone!         🐱 THE CAT’S  ME…OW! 🐱

🎶What’s new PUSSYCAT? Whoa…What’s new PUSSYCAT? Whoa oh oh oh oh…PUSSYCAT, PUSSYCAT,  I’ve got flowers…and lots of hours to spend with you…So go and powder your cute little PUSSYCAT nose…PUSSYCAT, PUSSYCAT, I love you, yes I do…You and your PUSSYCAT nose…🎶

🐱 Since the reunion photographer requested they OCCUPY the same room and strike the same poses as they did in 1968, in order to again ENACT the drinking of the now iconic TANGY Bartlett soda, would the photo be labelled a RARITY or a PEARity? 🐱

Looking at today’s words, we see that they may have gotten a LITTER more difficult, and perhaps caused a head SCRATCH or two. Both our 6 letter words contain double consonants, and they both end in Y. And why not? Actually we have three words today ending in Y. What do you think, Folks? Does TANGY have more of a BITE to it? Please WRITHE in and let us know…We’re CURIOUS…And now, let’s SHED some light on our cartoon, and POST a solution… First thought? PAW Jeff...Y you ask? BeCLAWS we know he’s not a CAT person. I mean read between the feLINES Folks…I don’t mean to sound CATTY, but David just gave us a CAT puzzle on Monday, and HAIR now, FOUR days later…we’re BACK at it again? HOWLed that happenHe’s CAT to be KITTEN us! I’m sure Jeff is not aMEWsed. He should have NIPPED it in the bud…But it HISS what it HISS, and Jeff’s PURRsevered and given us his usual top NOTCH cartoon. We see a woman, dressed in PURRple, sitting surrounded by cats. LITTERally…Above her, BELLOW her. Three brown ones, one white. Unfortunately, the white  one, on her lap, SCRATCHES her. The dialogue TAILS us that instead of being upset though, she’s PURRfectly fine with it, beCLAWS she says the CAT is adorable…She thinks he’s CUTE, despite the PAIN. And we can see that it STINGS because Jeff has drawn those lines above her arm showing so. Our question asks…What did she suffer? “A-CUTE” PAIN! Well, 🎶WHISKER out the door…🎶, she’s Done! Good one, Dave! You’ve NAILed it! Ok, eye candy…We have a lamp, blue and gray. There’s three PURRple doilies. Nice decor, our woman seems to be a neat MOUSEkeeper. (Yes, I know…that one was really a STRETCH)…Ok, I’m going with the oddly colored ball of YARN. YELLowy green? PAWSitively garish, FUR sure. So, There you have it, Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone. And remember…In life, it pays to have a good CATtitude...it’ll MEW you good…And CAT’s all, Folks! 🐱🙋🏻

  1. Good morning. Finally I got my phone fully charged. Only took a day and a half. Great pick for the song Angela and excellent use of the words. All and all I’d say a 5 star rating. Today’s puzzle was another good one. Had to write down the letters for Enact and Rarity and play with the letters to get the corrrct words. The cartoon answer took a second look before the light bulb went off in my head with the answer. Until tomorrow stay well. Oh,if your looking for a quick read on a cute book, may I suggest “Skipping Christmas ” by John Grisham. Out of character for him but enjoyable never the less.

    • Good Morning, Brooklyn. I’ve missed you! HOWL’re you doing? Glad your phone’s back up and PURRing! I had a FELINE you’d like today’s song choice, I had you in mind, beCLAWS I think you mentioned once that you were a fan of TOM Jones. I’ve read “Skipping Christmas”, funny and quirky, and agree, not the Grisham we’re accustomed to. You know the movie, “Christmas With the Kranks” with Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis, is based on the book. And I’m not KITTEN when I say it’s FURry funny also. If you haven’t seen it, check it out. So happy you’re back, Bud…you BREED some life into this place! Hope you’re having a great day, and WAUL CATch you later! 🐱🙋🏻

      • Hi Angela, didn’t know that movie was based on the book. Didn’t see the movie. I have posted Wednesday and Thursday but short version because I was having trouble with the phone. You’re definitely the pun master. You at the very least keep me smiling. Take care.

      • Hey, Brooklyn! Yes, I know you did. I was just getting used to you giving us a whole lot more each day. That’s why I said I’m glad your phone’s back to normal…Thanks for the shout out, Bud, I try!…Smiling? It better be the very least…I want you laughing, as you do for me…
Any idea why the Mets game is postponed? 🙋🏻

      • Angela, one of my friends from bocce is always reading books and told me to read the one I suggested to everybody. Loved the book. He hated the movie. What did you think of it?

      • Hey Brooklyn…
The movie’s not as good as the book, if that’s what you mean. But I’m a Tim Allen fan, so maybe that made me enjoy it more. It’s been like 15 years, and I think I’ve seen it a few times over the years. The DVD is around here somewhere….I don’t think it had the greatest reviews, but I guess it’s a matter of opinion. I just remember it as one of those quirky Holiday movies that seem to fit the Season. What can I say? I didn’t hate it…🎅🏻🙋🏻

    • Paul, I feel like a RETCH! I’m always in a such a rush, CHASING HAIR and there, that I just realized I failed to thank you FUR your Shout out. How could I PAWSsibly do that to you? You know you’re a TOP CAT in my book, Brooklyn! I’m so sorry…🐱🙋🏻

      • Yea, Paul, I saw that later. Just a little confusing, because SNY listed it as showing as new. But when I turned it on, it was y’days game. My friend left with the paper this morning, and MLB online read Postponed..This weather is playing havoc with all the schedules…Keeps up, we’ll either be sitting through a slew of double headers…or we’ll be watching with the Kranks! 😉🎅🏻
        We’re watching the Yankees…Bi-partisan group! 😉 Hope you’re having a good night, Bud! ⚾️🙋🏻

  2. In order to ENACT protection for his experimental TANGY fruit, the farmer had to OCCUPY his orchard, a RARITY in this rural neighbourhood.
I was slowed down by RARITY, thinking it had an E. After checking my dictionary, found my error. Otherwise an easy time with the solution, once I wrote out the circled letters and took note of the quotes.
So Angela, a song and a sentence this AM. These were not the easiest of words to combine into a logical sentence and I applaud yours–well done! Thanks for using “doilies”. In your post. When I looked at the cartoon, I immediately thought of one of my grandmothers who crocheted them and had them on every chair and sofa.
Snow up here again today,, so no outdoor walk.❄️ 😡 😠

    • Good Morning, Earl. One of the short stories I’m working on right now is about a reunion. The TANGY and the RARITY/PEARity just made me laugh, and I couldn’t resist the pun. Plus I’m not a CAT person, so the motivation to WRITHE a poem was FLEAting. When the thought came to me, I just went with it. TBT, part of the sentence is the opening of my story, and the irony just got to me…Thank you for the Shout out. And I agree, they weren’t the easiest of words, by no means. You’re not the only one SCRATCHING your head over RARITY. I’ve had three people this morning who said they’ve had PAWS with the same thing, the E. The doilies got to me me too, Earl, and for the exact same reason. In fact, I SHED a little TEAR. Luckily, though…I’ve saved a bunch of my Grandmothers’ HANDiwork, and I love just looking at them. I sometimes get the sense that they WHISKER to me…and I feel I can almost HAIR her voice…You’ve done a PURRfectly brilliant job with your sentence today, as I MEW you would…Raining CATS and dogs HAIR..Let’s hope we don’t end up CLIMBing the WAULS! Have a good one, Sir! 🐱🙋🏻

  3. Words that are verbs give me trouble as was the case with enact today. The other words were kind of a snap,as was the solution, apart from the play on the word acute.

    • Good Morning, Chuck. I’m noticing the letters ACT in both ENACT and A-CUTE. Anagram of the word CAT…Hmm. Is it just me? Or could there be a conspiracy here? Perhaps we should PAWS for reflection…Should we take ACTion, or just sCrATch the whole idea? It’s up to you…kept me POSTed…I’ll be MAUL than happy to spearhead the CAT FIGHT for you! 😂😂 And Chuck, aren’t you the resident MaThemAtiCian? We could always take that A-CUTE Angle…😉 Have a good one, Sir! 🐱🙋🏻

  4. Hi all – Pretty instant solve on the words and answer. The only detail seems to be a classic; the antimacassars on the chair arm and back.

Hey lady, I’d worry a lot more about the combination of big lamp, little table and four cats than about the scratch. The kitten’s just playing and he’ll learn soon enough, the scratches will heal, and if you’re very lucky you’ll get about 20 years of fun, companionship and love.

Loose Ends: I did think of one possible piece of evidence that they were using garlic juice (produced by crushing the clove in the mortar and pestle) yesterday. If they had wanted to use holy water on the stake, I’m pretty sure they would have applied it directly from the pristine little glass bottle in which it had been blessed, and not transferred it to a grungy old eyedropper that the guy used for his Murine that morning!

And I can definitely surpass my previous “Inappropriately Beautiful” “Songs from the ceiling” with those from, of all places, the 99¢ Only Store yesterday:
The Doobie Brothers, “Long Train Runnin’ ” from “The Captain and Me” (“Without love, where would you be right now?”) and
George Harrison’s “What is Life?” from “All Things Must Pass.”

See you all 🎵”Come Saturday Morning”🎵

    • Ah, G. 🎶Where do I begin…🎶 The HOLY WATER issue. As I mentioned y’day, you’re probably 💯% right. But it’s water under the bridge by now…Mike and I have made PEACE with it, and feel we should just ..🎶Let it be…🎶 It is something sanctified, and nothing can be gained by PRESSing the issue, and making it bigger and bigger…I’m just glad it’s not the CLOVES and the Fishes…We know how that multiplied. 😉 ..As for what our Grandmothers called “doilies”..”When a doily is used to protect the backs and arms of chairs, then they are serving as antimacassars”. 6 of 1, 1/2 dozen of another. Or 2 of 1, 1 of the other…Let’s not 😉 NEEDLE over it…And I was SEW sure you’d have a CAT Stevens tune instead…like its 🎶Another Saturday Night🎶 But, I like this one, too..SEW…it’s 🎶Just I…And my Friend…..🎶 I bid you adieu…🐱🙋🏻

  5. Hi, all! Being a cat lover, I thought the lady with her kittens and the whole cartoon picture were all quite adorable. I liked her living room décor with my favorite detail being the lovely crocheted doily on the arm of her chair.

The word that took the longest for me was RARITY. The cartoon answer was do-able because of so many jokes out there about “acute” illnesses. The latest one about acute gingivitis from my dentist was awkwardly worded; therefore, not funny.

Have a fun Friday. Also, have a fun weekend. While you’re at it, have a fun month!
    See you tomorrow!!
