CARTOON ANSWER:

WHEN THEY SANG SONGS AT THE SUMMIT, THEY SANG THEM —

PRTFOTMOHE = FROM THE TOP

Good Monday morning, my friends, and welcome back to another week of Jumble fun!  IMPORT was the only clue word that caused me to pause for a few extra seconds but it wasn’t any trouble at all.  Moving along to the cartoon, I wasn’t able to solve it blindly, so I was forced to write out the clue letters.  THE and TOP jumped out at me immediately leaving FROM for the finish.  To summit up, it was a quick and easy Monday morning solve that left me excited for the rest of the week’s puzzles.  I hope you have a wonderful day and I’ll see you tomorrow!  🙂

HIKECAECDDEAHW = WICKED HEADACHE

Good Saturday morning my friends!  ANYHOW was the only clue word to give me a hassle today.  A few quick self-jumbles and the answer popped right out at me.  I know we’ve seen it a few times in the past but it’s one of those words that I haven’t quite committed to memory.  Moving on to the cartoon, we have another Wizard of Oz piece with one of the Wicked Witches resting in a chair while Glinda (the Good Witch of the North) offers her a “nice” potion to soothe her malaise.  The answer came instantly upon writing out the clue letters because I picked up on the “evil witch” clue in the sentence.  Have a wicked good Saturday and I’ll see you tomorrow!  🙂

RWONB = BROWN

OWNOS = SWOON

CEDDEA = DECADE

JENRIU = INJURE

CARTOON ANSWER:

BRNSWNADEIRE = BREAD WINNERS

Good Wednesday morning, my friends!  It’s time to rise to the occasion, take some whisks, and solve another Jumble for goodness bakes.  The first two words came instantly and I thought I was on a roll.  DECADE slowed me down considerably and I was forced to use my notepad to decipher it.  Le pain proved mightier than the sword and I had my answer after four quick self-jumbles.  Last but not yeast was INJURE which required a second glance to figure out.  Moving on to the cartoon, Jeff sure wasn’t loafing around when he drew this one.  The setting was a small bakery where a customer has just purchased a baguette and is making pleasant conversation with the proprietors.  The letter layout was very cryptic and didn’t give any hints away.  With no answer in mind, I decided the best place to start was at the beginning and the BR was all I needed to see.  BREAD came instantly leaving WINNERS for the finish and a very funny pun.  Have a wonderful Wednesday and I’ll see you tomorrow!

PORRUA = UPROAR

CARTOON ANSWER:

ANDROIDS DON’T NEED TO DIE TO —

KEEEETHMMITRAR = MEET THEIR MAKER

Good Tuesday morning everyone!  KNEEL was the only word that needed an extra glance before coming into view.  With all of the other words coming instantly, I arrived at the cartoon and began my solve.  Reading the dialogue and sentence, I wasn’t quite sure where David and Jeff were taking this one.  Writing out the clue letters, I noticed quite a few “E’s” all in a row so I decided to begin with MEET to make use of them.   The whole answer came instantly to turn a very cryptic letter layout into a super fast solve.  The “makers” clothing had a Star Trek vibe to it while the android looked like C-3PO from Star Wars.  Jeff did an excellent job of blending the two giving the cartoon a very futuristic feel.  Enjoy your Tuesday and I’ll see you tomorrow!

CARTOON ANSWER:

ADWPHSUE = WASHED UP

Good Monday morning my friends, and welcome back to another week of Jumble fun!  The puzzle sure was a breeze this morning as all of the clue words were solved at first glance and I was at the cartoon in seconds.  The setting for this one brings us to a small storefront where local businessman “Matt” (clever pun, Jeff) is learning that his dream of operating a laundromat just went down the drain.  With a giant “out of business” banner in the window and a chained up front door, the look of desperation on his face sure is heartbreaking.  You might even say he looks like he’s been put through the wringer!  The letter layout for the final solution was loads of fun but I already had the answer just by reading the cartoon.  I hope this puzzle didn’t turn you into a basket case or leave you pressed for time.  I’ll see you tomorrow!  😊

CARTOON ANSWER:

THEY LIFTED OFF TO SEE THE SUNRISE, BUT WHEN THE BALLOON WOULD LAND WAS —

APIEHITRUN = UP IN THE AIR

Good Saturday morning everyone!  Another fantastic puzzle today with some challenging clue words to boot.  HIATUS was by far the most difficult word for me to decipher.  It took 5 self-jumbles on my notepad before it finally came into view.  Speaking of view, Jeff’s cartoon really stole the show and delivered a dandy one!  You can almost feel yourself hovering above the tree tops waiting for that magical moment when the sun slowly rises over the horizon to signal the start of a fresh new day.  I really enjoyed how dark the cartoon was and the sun just creeping up casting rays of light was superb.  The final solution came instantly which was fine by me as I could go back to admiring the cartoon just a little longer.  I’ve never been on a hot air balloon, but I did come close.  While on vacation in Florida, my wife and I decided to give it a go.  We booked our sunrise tour but it never took off because the winds were too high and they ended up cancelling the flight.  Maybe we’ll try it again one day, but for now I’ll happily settle with the view in my Jumble cartoon.  Have a wonderful Saturday and I’ll see you tomorrow!  🙂 🌅

TRTSRETESAM – STREET SMART

Mike, 🇮🇹 This one’s for you….🇮🇹

Buongiorno, a Tutti! Good morning, Everyone!
🇮🇹 Italy! 🇮🇹 The beauty, the romance, the culture! Today’s cartoon giving us (what I’m presuming to be) David and his wife, Claire in Florence, Italy…Using their phones’ GPS maps to direct them to Via Ricasoli, and the Galleria dell’Accademia, home of Michelangelo’s masterpiece, David. Today’s SMART phones are amazing, right? Locate the STREET you’re looking for and Voila! Or should I say “Ecco”! …Directions at your fingertips! This cartoon couldn’t be more descriptive. Kudos, Jeff! Complimenti per il lavoro svolto! What more can I say?
Today’s words: Easy, breezy, no surprises. Most likely the letters weren’t even needed for the solve. Definitely a great combination of the words and the “music”!… Music? You’d think I’d have some music, right? Or some puns? And yet, Niente! The eye candy? The Cupola del Brunelleschi (the dome) in the background. If you enhance the picture you can even make out the tiny little people. Great detail. So…Where’s the humor? Where’s the wit? This is soooo not good!… Too bad they weren’t already at the art museum, viewing the statue of David. Now THAT we could have had some fun with!

Arrivederci, 🇮🇹 Florence! Until we meet again….
Have a great day, Everyone! 🙋🏻

OCENU = OUNCE

TIKNH = THINK

DERTUG = TRUDGE

BCAROH = BROACH

CARTOON ANSWER:

THE OIL DRILLING BUSINESS WAS FAILING BECAUSE THE OWNERS WERE RUNNING IT —

ONETINTUDGROH = INTO THE GROUND

Good Thursday morning everyone!  The first three clue words were no trouble at all and came instantly into view.  BROACH took an extra glance but it too came fairly quickly.  Moving along to the cartoon, we see two men working on a pumpjack and they appear displeased at it’s state of disrepair.  Being from the northeast, I’ve never seen one of these machines and was surprised to learn that they have so many different names (oil horse, oil jack, donkey pumper, nodding donkey, pumping unit, horsehead pump, rocking horse, beam pump, dinosaur, grasshopper pump, Big Texan, thirsty bird, cricket, or jack pump).  Looking at a diagram of one, the gentleman on the left with the wrench appears to be working on the bridle block while the man on the right can be seen oiling the saddle bearing.  The answer to the cartoon flowed right out as if I had just struck Texas Tea and the letter layout was very cryptic and kept the solution well hidden.  In New England, the colloquial term for this puzzle would be “wicked easy” as it took only seconds to finish.  Have a terrific Thursday and I’ll see you tomorrow!!!  🙂👍🏻

TUMDITSONHIP = PUT HIS MIND TO

Good Wednesday morning everyone!  It sure was difficult pulling myself out of bed this morning after such a long day of swimming, grilling, and fireworks watching.  With the holiday over, it’s time to get back into gear and have some Jumble fun, so let’s get right to it!

SEASON was the only word that needed an extra few seconds before it came into view.  When I found “SON” the rest fell into place instantly.  With all of the words completed, it was off to the cartoon.

Jeff did an excellent job with this cartoon by transporting us to the Emerald City where we see the Scarecrow  (in the likeness of Mr. Hoyt) struggling with his Jumble puzzle.  The Cowardly Lion has a hot pot of coffee in his paw and is ready to offer up any help that he can, but the Scarecrow is determined to finish this one on his own.  The Jumble mug is an excellent detail, but my favorite was the hot air ballon floating by in the window.  Zooming in as best as I could, I couldn’t make out if the Wizard was actually in it or not.  The solve for the cartoon answer was very easy and didn’t require me to use my clue letters to complete.  I haven’t seen this movie in many years so it was a very enjoyable puzzle that brought back a lot of memories.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday and I look forward to hearing all of your comments.  I’ll see you tomorrow!  🙂

GIANKUTSCP :  STACKING UP

Good morning Mike, Good morning, Everyone….

🎶”Do you know who I am?” said Bill Haley. In a pancake house down near the Rio Grande. Well the waitress said, “I don’t know you from diddley. To me you look like one more tired old man….”🎶

You had me at PANCAKES. No waffling, you had me. Today’s words STACKED UP pretty well. They went down easy. Nothing new, maybe Buffet scrambled a little differently. Perfectly SERVED up for a Monday morning . The cartoon…We didn’t even need to look at our letters to solve this one. Got it right off the TOP. Jeff showed up the dishes STACKING UP! A gift! What more could we ask for? Extra butter? Side ORDER of bacon? Refill on that coffee? Oh…Sorry, it’s early, I haven’t eaten yet…The cartoon! This poor harried waitress, a blonde dressed in purple…(Those who know…KNOW)..just can’t keep UP. The short order cook, looking slightly distressed, probably wants to GRILL her further, BUTTER face says it all!  And the diners. The woman, SYRUPtitiously giving the side eye, the man looking annoyed, but probably grateful (Full? HA)! his son isn’t FLAP JACKing around. All just BACON for their breakfast. Will they start FLIPping out? Are they ready to BLINTZ!  Not an ideal situation. She says she’s trying her best, but maybe she needs to (I) HOP a little more? Because, let’s be honest, by the time those HOT CAKES get to the tables, HOT will so not be the operative word. Sadly, dear girl, here’s a tip…I don’t think there’ll be one. Today’s eye candy? No, not the little boy and the tongue. It’s those pancakes smoking on the GRIDDLE. How BATTER those going to taste?

I think I’ll mention two things here. One, I never eat pancakes unless I can have hot syrup, and two, I’d never stiff a server. I know I could never do that job! I comMENU all!

So, it’s Monday, there’s no esCREPEing it!  Let’s start the week off with a TOAST to all the servers out there for a job WELL DONE!!  Enjoy! ☕️ 🙋🏻
