CARTOON ANSWER:
WHEN THEIR KIDS AND PETS CRAWLED INTO BED WITH THEM, THEY WERE ABLE TO —
IPGLSETETH = SLEEP TIGHT
Good Thursday morning everyone and happy first day of June! The only word to give me few seconds of pause today was EAGLE. The five letter words have really been slowing me down lately, and I think the issue today was vowel placement. Moving along to the cartoon, I didn’t need the clue letters for an astounding third day in a row! The answer came to me right away after reading the dialogue and sentence for a no pencil required finish. Jeff’s cartoon may seem unimpressive if you didn’t stop to think about it after speeding through the puzzle, so if you were one of those folks, perhaps you overlooked some expertly placed detail. The mom is sleeping peacefully on the right side of the bed with her daughter giving her plenty of room. The dog on her side is also at the very bottom of the bed and not crowding her in the least. When it comes to dad, his eyes are drawn in such a manner that it’s as if he’s squeezing them shut to indicate his rest is anything but peaceful. The little boy is on top of the covers with his right arm outstretched on his father’s head, and the dog on his side is almost pushing him off the bed as indicated by his knee being off the mattress. Dad has almost no covers on him at all, and those of us with children can relate to how truly accurate this drawing really is. Enjoy your day and I’ll see you tomorrow! 😴
