Season’s Greetings, Everyone! I thought it would be fun to create a word scramble of my own as an extra special treat for fans of the Jumble puzzle. I must warn you that the words are on the difficult side to ensure an extended gameplay experience. If you think you’ve got the answer, well then CONGRATULATIONS! — but please refrain from posting it in the comments section for a couple of days so that others can give the puzzle a proper go. May this Holiday season be full of surprises and cheer because YOU deserve nothing but the very best!
Arrange the letters from the RED X‘s and GREEN X‘s to form the surprise answer!
RAIFE = ? ? X ? X
HRIZET = ? X X ? ? ?
RIGSTA = ? ? ? X X X
SUNTEA = ? X X ? ? ?
ULEISC = ? X ? ? ? ?
AFTER EATING ALL OF THE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS, THE GRINCH ENDED UP WITH A SEVERE CASE OF – – –
“_ _ _ _ _ _ – _ _ _ _”
ANSWERS:
RAIFE = AFIRE
HRIZET = ZITHER
RIGSTA = GRATIS
SUNTEA = UNSEAT
ULEISC = SLUICE
CARTOON ANSWER:
IE IT TIS NS L = “TINSEL-ITIS”
I am impressed! I did not even know you had created this until the 20th. I somehow read the “real” Jumble for the 19th but did not see this. Did you post it after the regular Jumble? Is that why there has only been one reply besides mine (that others missed it)? As requested, I will not divulge any “spoilers”. I did solve it but only after MANY hours over 2 days. BRAVO!!! As good as any Jumble I have ever encountered. Now come up with one for New Year’s.
When are you going to post the Holiday Scramble answers??? Just saying…..🎶☃️⛄💖✌️🖖😎
Hi Mike,
I think “difficult” is an understatement. I am still stuck on two words and the answer. Wishing you and the Jumble the best for 2020.
Caroline
Caroline – As I commented (above), I spent a great deal of time over 2 days getting this solved. I am curious which 2 word Jumbles that have you stuck. I will not give you the answers but they may be the same ones that made me struggle.
Hi – The two words are RIGSTA and ULEISC. Did you have trouble with these?
Update – just got RIGSTA. Getting there.
Wahoo! Almost there Caroline!
Hi Caroline!
The interesting thing is that all of the words that I chose have appeared in the Jumble at one time or another. I scoured my old books to pick some doozies and it looks like they’re working!
I’ll gladly give you a hint if you’d like. Just let me know. 🙂
Thanks for your offer, Mike, but I’d prefer to keep trying. You did a good job picking them!
Caroline – YES, they all gave me grief but those were the last two I deciphered. Then it was still uphill to get the final solution. I had a good laugh when I did “get it”.
RIGSTA took me the longest
Hi Mike,
I did finally get the answer, but I don’t know the word SLUICE and never recognized it. Once I had the answer, I knew L would be the second letter, and I went through each possible combination I could think of – over 100! Sluice was on my list. I thought it was a wonderful answer and clue. Maybe next time you could add a drawing as well. For the answer, I also thought of silent-itis, which made me think of sinusitis and silent night.
I’m glad that you were able to successfully solve it, Caroline! Some of the old books that I used to form the puzzle had words that I’ve never seen or heard so I tried to choose ones that were challenging but not impossible. As for adding a cartoon, I’m not sure the world is quite ready for my talents. Stick figures are just about all I can mangage! Maybe someone will chime in and offer to draw one or I could photoshop some clipart into something usable. Happy New Year to both you and your family! 🙂
Happy New Years to you and your family, too, Mike!
Thank you! 😊😊😊
