DNRWIA – INWARD

NOCROB – BRONCO

CARTOON ANSWER:  THE REMOTE BED AND BREAKFAST ALLOWED THE  NEWLYWEDS TO BE – – –

MID   MUNC   INA   ONCO   =  “INN”- COMMUNICADO

Good Morning, Everyone!         📵 NO DIN AT THE INN 📵

🎶 You give me deja vu…Like l’ve been waiting my whole life to find that view…’Cause when i’m lookin at your eyes, I go from California to Timbuktu…Back to dancing in the living room, if I got you, Baby everyday’s a HONEYMOON, Oh, it’s a HONEYMOON…Baby everyday’s a HONEYMOON…🎶 “Honeymoon”- Johnny Stimson 2017   https://tinyurl.com/y9kz9jh5

📵 Today a Honeymoon’s not like it was in bygone days,
It’s been a long time since tradition dictated mores…
Where some things were kept INWARD and couples lived apart,
Today there’s often in our MIDST the horse behind the cart…
But romance still does blossom, whether Honey Bunch or MUNCH
And Honeymoon’s still follow that reception or that lunch…
So this B&B’s a great idea, no phone and no distraction,
(I’m thinking BRONCO missed the cut in this little attraction)…
And couples should enjoy this, just the two without bravado…
A Honeymoon for lovers, truly “INN”- COMMUNICADO! 📵

While we haven’t seen MUNCH since way back in 2014, INWARD appears for the 4th time today, last seen on March 25th, ’18. BRONCO ran through this past July, but it’s MIDST that seems to be amongst us for the first time…None of our words were HEART stoppers, but the Early Birds felt MUNCH took a BIT longer to solve then the others…And while today’s solution is definitely a mouthful…(14 letters long), and one that does require a bit of creative thinking, IT’S FAR from disHEARTening…Ok, Let’s CHECK IN on our cartoon…

No TECH? What the heck! It’s a welcome change…Today we see a newlywed couple, ILONA, LONE for short, and her husband, WOLFGANG, who goes by WOLF, checking in for their Honeymoon at a quiet, cozy, REMOTE BED & BREAKFAST. With the view from the window, it seems they’re somewhere in the mountains. HEARing Lone telling the inn’s proprietor, MR. PEACE N. QUIET, that they left their phones at home, and Wolf saying that they don’t want to be disturbed, they’re stressing that they’re looking for privacy. And from the quaint look of the place, and Peace assuring that no one will bother them, it seems like a MARRIAGE made in Heaven! No outside communication, no DIN at the INN...This place allows the NEWLYWEDS to be…”INN”- COMMUNICADO! https://tinyurl.com/y8zzghg4 Good one, David, really good one…I HEAR you!

So, eye candy…Our couple’s dressed in summer clothing, with shades of blue. Lone is wearing purple sunglasses, with bracelets on both wrists. Wolf is bearded and mustached. They have one very small red stand-up suitcase, on wheels…A small dark yellow cat is seen, peeking around the desk. .Mr. Quiet, sporting a large bushy mustache, and glasses, is dressed in a rust colored shirt, with navy pants. The key he’s holding for them is attached to a green card, and it reads “H” and a second letter that’s hidden behind his thumb. The sign-in register is yellow, and the top line shows a name beginning with a Capital Cursive “J“, but I can’t make out the rest…And above the flower-patterned wall paper, where the large picture window begins, we see out to a porch…with an old-fashioned ROCKING CHAIR. I’m going with the CHAIR. Those old rocking chairs always spell B&B to me...So, There you have it, Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone! And may all your getaways get B-etter and B-etter...📵🙋🏻

  1. Morning, everyone –
Fun and fitting song and video, Angela.
My toughest word was BRONCO. Grouping the c’s and m’s, my first thought for the answer was accommodation. Then, for some reason, I thought of non-communicado, but soon found my mistake. Another wonderful one from David and Jeff.

    • Good Morning, Caroline. Last we saw BRONCO, it appeared as NOBORC. Pretty close..So I went back to peek…And guess what? A HORSE of the same color! 😉 It stumped almost everyone that day too…We need to break that BRONCO! 😉 Accommodation is a very good guess,..I like it. I thought INN immediately, and then the rest just popped into my head, and luckily the letters agreed with me! 😂 And wonderful is right! It’s a really good answer, very clever with a bit of a whimsical challenge! I’m glad you enjoyed my intro, I think the song is such a beautiful one, and I thank you very much…Here’s to a great day, Caroline… I hope you fare well with the snow…(This talk of Monday’s temps plunging to below zero has me a little unnerved…I’m glad at least the kids will be home from school)…📵🙋🏻

      • Funny one about breaking Bronco! Maybe next time.
Good luck down there with the snow. The little bit of snow we just got – before the big one – is very slippery. I went down shoveling but I have a long, thick coat, so no problem.

      • LOL! Thanks, Caroline…That’s me, always HORSING around! My friend just told me earlier this morning to “REIN it in a little”…I MAREly told him…”NEIGH, don’t NAG!” 😉 He just SNORTED at me, and SHOOK his HEAD…COLT, very COLT! …Anyway, we got a covering, but it’s dissipating by itself. The temp here has already climbed to 32, and it’s supposed to go higher, so it should be ok. It’s t’row into Sunday that I’m dreading…the expected number of inches keeps climbing…Be careful, and stay warm and safe..❄️🙋🏻

    • Caroline, I may have mentioned that I used to set myself a goal of not slipping and falling on the ice for the entire winter, and I think I achieved it a grand total of once. The long ice-covered *granite* stairway at one of my school buildings was great for getting your attention!

  2. From the movie “10” with Dudley Moore and Bo Derek:

Telephone Operator: [on the telephone to Don in the lounge] Mr. Webber, please.

Don: [aside to George] Are you in?

    George Webber: No, no.

Don: [on the phone to the operator] Listen, kid, until otherwise instructed, Mr. Webber will be incommunicado.

Telephone Operator: Don, where is that?

Don: About twenty miles due east, make a left turn.

Telephone Operator: OK, thank you Don.

    • 👏🏻👏🏻!! ROTFL! 😂 Not to be confused with IN DISTRESS…”Dress? What dress? I don’t see a dress”! …Good one, Mike..I haven’t thought about that one in years! Don’t you just love old movie lines that can still make you laugh years and years later? Thanks, it gave me a good one! ..And speaking of movies…I thought we had some buffs amongst us…Y’day, I threw out (what I thought was) a solid reference to an old classic…I thought for sure you, or Steve, or Paul would take the bait…but Nada!! Zilch…Zero…No cigar! 😂 I was crestfallen! (Well a little disappointed anyway..l😉) Take a look back…let me know. Oh…Sorry..Good Morning! 📵🙋🏻

      • Okay, I took a look back, & I think you’re talking about “Splendor in the Grass” with Natalie Wood & Warren Beatty. Just now I was confusing that movie with “Love With the Proper Stranger” with Wood & Steve McQueen, which had the line “That’s what love is – bells and banjos playing?”.
By the way, I just noticed that the quote from “10” that I copied from IMDB has incommunicado misspelled. That’s what happens when when you copy something when you’re in a hurry to get to a meeting. 😒

      • Yep, Mike..That’s it! And I had to play around with it too, to get it to blend…Well done! As for today’s word, you’re not alone..I didn’t even notice the spelling until you just said..Looks like the M’s and N’s just blurred together…I corrected it…Hope your days’ going well, Mke! 📵🙋🏻

    • HAY, Chuck! Good Morning! BRONCO! BRONCO! …Oh no, wait…I meant BRAVO, BRAVO! Excellent! 👏🏻👏🏻 I’ve HOOF a mind to steal it! I woke up a little HOARSE, and my day got into FOAL swing early. I got involved in too many things this morning, and didn’t have the time to RUSTLE UP any sentences…I just couldn’t get SPURred into action. But CUD you get any better? I think not…You’ve proven that you’re no one-trick PONY! And definitely not PASTURE prime! 😂..I should stop, huh? Before I do some kind of pRUMINANT damage to myself! Love the sentence, Chuck! Hope you’re faring well in PA. Here in NY, it’s FRIESIAN! 🐎🙋🏻

  3. Good morning. I was stuck like it seemed an eternity on Bronco. My choice like most for hardest word. The cartoon answer with all them letters also had me befuddled until I decided to talk my second part of the word into my phone for a quick and easy spelling. The remaining letters left me in. Angela, good song choices. First time hearing both. But,if I was on Let Make A Deal I’d flip and flop the two songs. Love a good western song. Another fine job on your poem and puns. And,THANKS for having fun with my warped sense of humor on last nights comment to you. You had me ROTFL as well. I was laughing so hard I actually had tears in my eyes. You are too kind to ever hurt someone and I would never intentionally hurt your feelings. We are all good, and again thanks for the fun.

    • Good Morning, Brooklyn! Et tu, BRONCO? I don’t know, I just RODE right over it..but now it looks to be KICKING up some dust! And I really like how you “talked” your way into the solution…But let me get this straight…So you’re telling me that you ARE Tech savvy? 😂😂 Brooklyn, last night was a riot! I was dying here! Seriously, you had me rolling! And yes, thank you…I am a kind person…maybe sometimes to a fault. (At least that’s what my friend keeps telling me…Something to do with a FAULT MINE? 😉 He’s so endearing)…Anyway, I’m glad you got the solve, and thanks a bunch for the Shout Outs and the laughs.. I hope you never change, Paul, you’re a Gem! And I’m happy you enjoyed the music…Have a good one, Brooklyn…And get the shovel ready…We’re on deck! ❄️🙋🏻

Another mystery solved! Don’t you just love the team effort? Goes to show, there’s always ROOM for one more! Have a great day, Clay! And thanks again! ❤️🙋🏻

  4. Hi all – Really had a hard time with the first and last words. I was lucky to see INN as the first part of the answer, and happy to see that my guess for the rest fit the number of letters, letting me back into MIDST and BRONCO.
I don’t know whether I’ve ever seen MIDST alone as opposed to “amidst”. The first definition I looked up described it as ‘archaic’.

Before Hollywood became the movie capital, many early Western movies were filmed at “Essanay” studios up north here in Niles, California, and their hero spelled his name “Broncho Billy”. There’s a silent film museum there.

Have a great day, everyone. Sorry about the storm we’re sending your way, but we wrung out as much water as we could! We’ll try to keep the earthquakes completely to ourselves!

Good job rhyming the answer, Angela. I was wondering how you were going to do that. Here are a couple of songs that occurred to me:

🎵”Old rocking chair’s got me, my cane by my side,
Fetch me that gin, son, ‘fore I tan your hide.”🎵

🎵”Let’s take a boat to Bermuda
Let’s take a plane to Saint Paul
Let’s grab a kayak to Quincy or Nyack
Let’s get away from it all
    Let’s go again to Niagara
This time we’ll peek at the falls
    Let’s leave our hut, dear
Get out of our rut, dear
Let’s get away from it all”🎵

    • Broncho Bob…I think he had a breathing problem, no? Good Morning, G. Funny you mention the rhyme…good pick up. And Thanks. This morning I immediately thought the same thing…WT heck am I going to rhyme that with? …And then when I got bravado, it was how to have it make sense…So I just whipped out that license once again😂 and took a shot..And I always liked 🎶 Let’s Get Away From it All🎶, especially Frankie’s uptempo version…but I wanted to stay true to the Newlywed theme. But, 🎶Rockin’ Chair?🎶? Uh, did I mention they’re Newlyweds?! 🙄 Even Jimmy Buffett misses the mark, but I just threw it in because the name matched up so perfectly. The tune came to mind, but I knew I didn’t fit the puzzle. So, yea…the storm..Every weather report seems to bring us closer and close to the Apocalypse! I think I should just stop listening…Or I’ll have another excuse to not sleep tonight! 😱 Have a good one, G! Talk to you later! 📵🙋🏻
