WE   O   FL   FL   =   WELL OFF

Good Morning, Everyone!     💰 OIL’S WELL…THAT ENDS WELL 💰

🎶 There’s a million OIL RIGS pumping that black gold all over the world…Sheiks and cowboy billionaires, in limousines loaded with sparkling girls….But money can’t buy happiness, just listen to the stories they tell…All you need to really succeed in life is ONE GOOD WELL… It takes ONE GOOD WELL, deep and ever flowing, It takes ONE GOOD WELL,  to draw from night and day…Pure and fine it’s yours and mine and it’s always enough…We got ONE GOOD WELL overflowing with everlasting love…🎶 “One Good Well” – Don Williams 1989

💰 I’d like to own an Oil Well…I OFTEN give it thought,
A nice gift it would be for sure, ’cause definitely not self-bought…
I think that if I WEIGH my odds, and play my cards just right,
And not make any FAULTY moves to underscore my fight.
Then maybe I could be like this…A Baron of the fields,
And get so rich and laissez-faire about all that it wields…
But then I stir and turn around and see I’ve been asleep,
I wake my other telling him again that dream did creep…
He looks up and with FEEBLE half-drawn eyes he quietly scoffs…
“You keep this up? Well trust me…you won’t hardly be WELL OFF“! 💰

LOL! WELL, a girl can dream, can’t she? And if you’re gonna dream? May as WELL dream big, is OIL I’m saying! So what if they’re all just PIPE dreams? Ok, reality…This has really been a week of easy, breezy-no one’s getting queasy Jumbles, wouldn’t you say? A little tic here or there, but for the most part… A WELLth of puzzle pleasure, with today being no exception. All Sweet Repeats, the only fault perhaps lying with FAULTY. On to our cartoon…At an OIL FIELD we’re listening to the conversation between the OWNER, Mr. GREENMEANS, and his foreman, DERRICK. The FIELD’s gone Belly Up, and Derrick’s telling the BOSS-man how sorry he is…But instead of Mr. Greenmeans having a CRUDE awakening, he just answers, very RESERVED….”It’s ok, because I’m so…WELL OFF! Well I’ll be.. POUR me a glass of that Texas Tea…You’ve STRUCK BLACK GOLD once again, Dave! Good one!
So, eye candy…We got Mr. G’s Belt Buckle: Longhorn Steer, Oil Rig, Wrench…His Bolo Tie Slide, an OIL WELL…And the ubiquitous 10-Gallon Hat...FLOWING fashion sense. An there’s OIL RIGS that ADD UP to six…His car sports a Cowhide Longhorn Ornament lying upon the grill..But I’m going with Mr. G’s License Plate:DINOMNY”!  I guess it doesn’t get any BIGGER than that! So, There you have it, Folks! Done! Have a great day, Everyone…And OILways remember the DRILL…No PIPE dreams allowed! 💰🙋🏻

  1. If you OFTEN WEIGH yourself in public, be prepared to offer the FEEBLE excuse that the machine is FAULTY
No problem with the clue words or the solution—it has been a rather easy week, thanks Puzzle Men.
Angela—have never heard the song you referenced–if I get a chance, I’ll check it out later.
Your poem prompted a smile—I often have outrageous dreams and then reality comes with awakening. Oh well—it is fun to drift off into another world.
I also noticed the license plate on the oil man’s car—“Vanity, Vanity, all is Vanity.” Right?
Have a wonderful weekend everyone and respect the heat if you are in those areas where it could be problematic.

    • Ecclesiastes! What a way to start off the day! 👏🏻👏🏻 Between that quote and your hysterically amusing sentence…? It’ll definitely be a good day! Good Morning. Sir! How’re you doing? I’m out on the boat…spent the night…And watched the sunrise with amazing reflection off the water…the whole time smelling bacon frying….Morning doesn’t get much better! ..And then you! You have me laughing! It has been an easy, breezy week, right? Thanks for your Shout Out and Poem Nom…The song? Country. Nice…And yes, totally fun to drift off to the fantasy places…I do it a lot while I’m awake too! LOL…Have a great day, Earl…And stay cool! 🙋🏻

    • 🎵”To everything Turn, turn, turn
There is a season Turn, turn, turn
And a time to every purpose under Heaven …
A time to love, a time to hate
A time for peace, I swear it’s not too late”🎵
      Peet Seeger via The Byrds.

      • ? Quoting from the Book of Wikipedia: 😂
        “Lyrics and title:
The lyrics are taken almost verbatim from the book of Ecclesiastes, as found in the King James Version (1611) of the Bible (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8), though the sequence of the words was rearranged for the song.”

      • LOL..No, I wasn’t questioning “Turn, Turn, Turn..” Just saying there’s books and chapters and verse…And what Earl and I were speaking of is not the same..😉 The Book of Wkipedia! 😂 The King James Version? 😂 Have a good one, G! 🙋🏻

    • Good Morning, Professor! WEIGH easy indeed! 👏🏻 Good one! Chuck, you know that on-line site I OFTEN speak of puts the Jumble up before 3:30 each morning. I think you mentioned bookmarking it? ..I’m not sure. My paper comes no later than 5:15, but being a very early riser, I can’t wait that long! LOL..I go on-line, and then use my paper to distinguish color. So, you really don’t have to wait…And the perk with the on-line version is the ability to view the puzzle full screen..Worth it’s WEIGHt in OIL when it comes to all the juicy eye candy. So, let me know if you’d like me to post the link again for you. We’re both amongst that group of “die-hard, hard copy loyalists”, so it’s not like we’d give up our subscriptions in lieu of anything on-line. But it’s good if you’d like those early morning RIGS..I mean gigs! Heat’s on here also…Oh WELL…Let’s just try to stay cool! Have a good one, Chuck! 🔥🙋🏻

      • No problem, Chuck Anytime…. I like the paper too, but patience is sooooo not one of my virtues! 😂🙋🏻

  2. Good morning. Girl when do you sleep and how do you come up with these songs day after day? Listened to it before posting. Never heard it, but it was pleasant. Your poem as well as Earls use of the words were great. You guys have broadened my horizons. I like the fact that you’re never too old to learn. Today’s jumble was a pleasure. I would put this one as the easiest for the whole week. By the way, even with the magnifying glass I still was unable to read the license plate. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Good Morning, Sunshine! Glad you took a listen to todays song choice. Did you DIG it? 😉How do I pick ’em? Paul, you know the DRILL! They pick me! LOL…IDK, I’m just always hearing Music. I look at the puzzle, and the next thing I know…the Music starts playing! Scary, huh? 😂 As for the sleeping? OIL I can say is I’m challenged! 2-3 hours and I’m good. WELL maybe not good…but good enough! 😂 I’m always working on it…The magnifying glass won’t help, Paul, mostly because the License Plate’s RED…Can’t be READ! 😉 Want to take a look on-line? Let me know..I’ll DIG it up for you…Thanks sooo much for the Shout Out, you’re an Ace! And as far as broadening Horizons and enjoying new things go? You know what they say, Brooklyn…Any old dog can learn a new trick! 😂😘 (Just breakin’ ’em on you, Bud)! …It has been an very easy, breezy week for sure…Too bad we won’t be having a breezy weekend though…Get out that sunscreen and water before you hit the Courts, Paul. I don’t want you getting OIL messed up out there! Stay cool, Bud! 🔥🙋🏻

  3. This Jumble should WEIGH OFTEN on us, especially our leaders, because of our nation’s and the world’s FAULTY method for handling future shortages of fossil fuel, and our FEEBLE attempts (solar, wind and so forth) to deal with the problem. Fracking has held off peak oil for a while but eventually that will run out, maybe in a few years, and then for all of us it will be WELL OFF. http://www.postcarbon.org

    • Good Morning, Jim. Major Kudos! 👏🏻👏🏻 You’ve covered not only OIL the words, but the bases as WELL! We OIL need to give more of a FRAC about the environment! Thanks for the link…A lot of interesting information…Have a good one! 🌤🙋🏻

  4. Hi all – Quick solve on everything today. OFTEN actually took about 3 jumbles. I like it when a completely common word like that or EIGHT hides in plain sight. Putting LY last quickly led to seeing FAU at the beginning, and then FAULTY.

I like the longhorns, looking just like Dusty’s up-on-blocks Cadillac in ”The Elderberries.” But what caught my eye were the cowboy boots. They seem to be … how shall I put this…. a bit.. odd. And that’s *all* I’ll say about that.

I know Jerry and Lelia will be ok because it’s a DRY heat, and Betty and I are near the coast, but to the rest of you, stay safe and cool!

  5. YIPPEE! A quick solve of words and cartoon puzzle! I liked the typical Texas oil tycoon wearing his stereotypical hat, boots, bolo tie, etc.
The first time I traveled from Arkansas to Tucson by train, I learned that there were oil wells all across Texas, and I also got to see my first saguaro cacti (plural for cactus).
Joyce, Josh, Jerry, & I are leaving for an Arizona Prospector’s Association annual luncheon at the Claim Jumper Restaurant.
Steve, thanks for the shout out of the very true information that Jerry’s & my heat in Arizona is a dry heat.
    Enjoy your day, all!!
