Good Morning, Everyone!      👣I GOT THE HIPPY HIPPY SHAKES 👣

🎶 For goodness sakes, I got the HIPPY HIPPY shakes…Yeah, I got the shakes…I got the HIPPY HIPPY shakes. Ooh, I can’t sit still…With the HIPPY HIPPY shakes.. Well, now you shake it to the left, you shake it to the right…You do the HIPPY shake shake…With all your might. Oh Baby…Yeah, come on and shake…Aw, it’s in the bag…Oh, the HIPPY HIPPY shake, oh yeah…🎶

👙👣She’s visiting Hawaii, she figures push come SHOVE
She’d like to get the most of it, and do the things she loves…
She’s always enjoyed dancing, it’s rhythm and the RHYME,
So she thought she’d try hula…she’d definitely make the time.
But one of the instructors, ABRUPT and quite annoyed,
Told her that body movement wasn’t something to avoid.
“You really can’t do hula, if your body stays INTACT,
You need to loosen up and move your arms and hips and back”
But she felt she could do it, with the coffee to her lips…ER…
I think a rude awakening will sway this city HIPSTER! 👣👙

Our words today…All old favorites, but with a definite new SPIN. I think perhaps of all four, RHYME may SHAKE you up a bit. Today, our cartoon brings us to the shores of HAWAII. We see a trendy city woman, attending a HULA dance class. With her steaming coffee in hand, and cell phone loosely placed in her pocket, the instructor is asking her…”So, HAWAII you here? You’re not dressed properly, your hands aren’t free, and I’m getting the impression that your idea of grass is different from mine.. Just HULA you think you are…” Oh POI! She’s not HULAing around, is she? Talk about Urban reBOOal! So our question asks…What was the City Kicker, looking to learn the HULA? Solution? She was a HIPSTER! Well, What do you SWAY? Good one, David! A real HAWAIIAN PUNCHline! Ok, eye candy…Palm trees, leis, HULA dancers...We’ve SCENE it before, so I don’t care ATOLL…Let’s go with our City Kickers’ plaid skirt and boots...Good REEF! Y-ORCHIDDING me, right? So, There you have it, Folks! Done! Have a great day, Everyone! And ISLE be seeing you…👣👙🙋🏻

  1. Although ABRUPT can RHYME with erupt,, the meter does not remain INTACT when push comes to SHOVE and glove.
Humm. An old Elvis song came to mind this early AM. But Angela chose another and she certainly used the solution to give us the sinuous shakes. Well done my friend.
Clue words and solution came easily as they often do on Mondays.
Got to hit the road for volunteer duty. Enjoy your day everyone.

    • Good Morning, Earl. I just knew you’d rather 🎶Blue Hawaii🎶, but i felt it didn’t fit the puzzles theme. I’m sure the day will come…A very clever and creative sentence this morning…well done also! Thanks for the shout out…Have a good one.👙👣🙋🏻

  2. Struggled on 2,3,4 CWs then saw Step and like an earwig could not get off it. Finally saw HIP and groaned! Good one fellows! EARL. good word, new to me…could describe my golf game which has finally started in INDIANA after the longest winter in the history of the world with the exception of a couple of winters when that little glacier covered 2/3 of Indiana.

  3. I only got RHYME because I remembered not getting rhythm in the past.
I recently brought a very beat up, cloth messenger bag to a dropoff place for Goodwill, thinking they might want to recycle the material. A man there told me a hipster would want it.

    • Good Morning, Caroline. I wanted to go back this morning to see when we had Rhythm, but I was too BEAT! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Your hipster story is funny! I hadn’t heard that word very often. But now, with so many “old” neighborhoods in NYC undergoing gentrification, it’s become commonplace. Have a great day! 👙🙋🏻

      • I think I first saw rhythm soon after I started the jumble, about 2 years ago. I’m not sure whether it’s come up again. I had trouble with a lot of CWs,back then, but I remember rhythm was one that had me completely baffled.

      • Caroline, I think we’ve seen both within the past few months. But I could be wrong. I’m going to see if I can check. Either way, IMO, the anagram itself was masterful today. One wouldn’t think that just 5 letters could be so tricky! 🙋🏻

      • Caroline…Thanks to the patience of my friend, I have some answers…He SHOOK these out of the archives for us! (And then he asked..”So, Ang…now HULA gonna love”? 😉 POI oh POI! 😉 I owe him now)!…Ok, we had RHYTHM on 9/30. As for today’s words…SHOVE – 8/19, ABRUPT- 8/06 and 2/25, and INTACT – 8/20. RHYME? He came up empty so far…Do you supPROSE it’s a new one? We SHELL see! 👣👙🙋🏻

      • Thanks for the information on the dates, Angela. Didn’t David say in the video that he tries to wait at least six months?

      • You’re very welcome, Caroline. Although I didn’t do the leg work! I save everything I write, so my friend was nice enough to go thru my files. And yes, I believe David did say that. But I can only imagine how difficult it must be to come up with new words each day, so who knows. My friend told me, (after he found the words for me), that “there were a bunch of doubles”. I should have asked him to note them, but I didn’t think of it. And I’m still “seeing” Rhyme in my mind’s eye. I know it’s not new, but when we had it last…I have no idea. Hope you’re having a good night. Be well. 🙋🏻

  4. Good morning. I’d go with your choice for the song Angela. Fits much better I believe. Not an easy Monday puzzle for me. Words two and three took some time to get. In scrambling the letters for Rhyme,I had it down but it never registered in my brain. I kept trying to make others words. Finally I decided to check and realized I had it all along. The cartoon answer was quickly solved once I looked at the letters. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Hey Brooklyn…I’m in Brooklyn! I have an appt. I thought Rhyme might be today’s thorn in the side, but now I’m getting a lot of texts about Abrupt also. Too early to tell which one ends up SHAKIN’ us down! Glad you liked the music! Ciao, Bud! 👙👣🙋🏻

  5. Rhyme was a new word for me but the others came quickly as did the hipster solution after a little thought.Congrats to Lebron and the Cavs on their win,and condolences to the Pacers and their fans. The Pacers outscored the Cavs by 40 points in the 7 games, but still lost the series. It was the largest positive point differential to end up losing a 7 game series.

    • Hey Chuck. I sent you out a Congrats yday right after the game. Nice win. And yes, we took a tough loss. But I’ve been a Mets fan for many, many years, so I’m inured to the agony of defeat. I’m good! 😉 And as I mentioned in my post, I figured Rhyme for a snag today. As soon as I get a chance though, I’m going to see how long ago we’ve had it. Have a good one, Sir. 👣🙋🏻

  6. Hi, all! Easy words after changing antics to INTACT. The antics of the HIPSTER hula dancer made the beautiful Hawaiian hula dancer get a peeved look on her face, which is something I did not see any of the 3 times that Jerry & I were there. The hula dancers were friendly, smiling, putting leis around our necks, and dancing with such skill in the spectacular shows that it was extremely entertaining to watch. In the shows after dark, the guys dancing with fire were eye-catching & breathtaking, also.

Steve, great saying hi to you yesterdayl

Caroline, I echoed your answer yesterday, as usual. I post first & then read comments so I’m always surprised at how much mine sounds like yours. Great minds!!

Angela, you & I have given each other well wishes for days. I hope we are soon completely well and stay that way for a while.

    • Hi Lelia. Yes, we have! And I’m working on it, as I know you are too…🎶Someday soon…🎶! As for our Hula dancer…I guess she just wasn’t in the mood to WAIST her time today….
You know how these Hipsters can be…Here today…gone to MAUI! Take care! 👣🙋🏻

  7. Hi all – Got the words and then thought SWINGER for the answer but a closer look showed her to be a HIPSTER.
The cartoon actually made me laugh today. I do like her shoes, but not in this context, and that skirt — at first I thought she used a tablecloth, but then the pattern looked like a chessboard, but she’s sure not making any of the right moves. (And the hat looks exactly like the base of my hummingbird feeder.)
Of course she can’t move yet – she hasn’t finished her coffee!

    Triple play:
🎵”Little red light, shake ‘em on down
Little green light, shake ‘em on down
Sayin’ must I holla? Must I shake ‘em on down, shake ‘em on down?”🎵

🎵”When you move in right up close to me
That’s when I get the chills all over me
Quivers down my backbone, I got the shakes in the knee bones
    Shivers down my thigh bones
    Shakin’ all over”🎵

🎵”Just one thing I ask of you, just one thing for me
Please forget you knew my name, My darlin’ Sugaree.
    Shake it, shake it, Sugaree
Just don’t tell them that you know me.”🎵

    Good day all!

    • I guess we should be GRATEFUL…DEAD as the look on her face is, at least the skirts not purple! You’ll note all the bikini tops are…GUEES WHO must have colored these? But I suppose it fits the BILL…WITHERS we like it or not! Hummin.a…Hummin..a! 😉
      I laughed at it too…Only because I see so many of these women…and I wonder…Why? 😂 Have a good one, Bud! 👣🙋🏻

      • Tell your resident archivist that when it comes to owing him anything, you’re going to SKIRT the issue for now.
Oh, were there bikini tops in the picture? I hadn’t noticed. 🙄

Thinking about the dialogue, it occurred to me that I should have gone with this:
🎵”You may be high, You may be low
You may be rich, child, You may be poor
But when the Lord gets ready
        You gotta move”🎵
        Happy travels today! 🙋🏻‍♂️

      • Archivist? No, he’s Catholic! …Tell him? THAT’S exactly what he meant…😳! And you didn’t notice? Hmm…BRA for the course…But not this song, G. It has spiritual roots…Let’s KAPU walk on this one…😂🙋🏻
