Good Morning, Everyone!      🛳 SEA CREWS…? 🛳

🎶I got to get to rockin’, get my hat off the rack…I got to boogie-woogie like a knife in the back…So be my guest, you got nothin’ to lose, Won’t ya let me take you on a SEA CRUISE? Oo-ee, oo-ee baby, Oo-ee, oo-ee baby, Oo-ee, oo-ee baby…Won’t ya let me take you on a SEA CRUISE? 🎶

🛳 Looking at the cartoon, one just can’t help but think
How crews upon a passenger ship must get that little kink…
To catch a break from catering to everybody’s whim,
And SPRUCE themselves up for a change, and just be her and him.
No one to have to PACIFY, no HIKERs for the walls,
They just can chill and be themselves with all their own foibles…
Lie in the sun, all care be SWUNG, raise drinks up to their lips…
And just relax, enjoy the port, and make it the “CREW’SSHIP! 🛳

t Today’s words except for maybe PACIFY are old favorites. Ironically, SPRUCE WOOD have worked well y’day, right? But Pacify? Is it new? Can we make PEACE with it? What do you think, Folks? SAILING over to our cartoon, Jeff’s placed us ABOARD a Cruise Ship. Without any passengers on board, we SEA the CREW being afforded some time for themselves. We have four men, three women, and various means of diversion. For those of us who’ve been on cruises, we know how hard these people work. It’s no day at the beach! I’m sure there’s been many a time when these crew members have become SHE SICK, and HE SICK of catering to so many guests. So this down time is well deserved. Our question asks what the Ocean Liner is, now that the passengers are gone…The ShuffleBOARD player is saying,,”We never get a chance”… Ding! Ding! Ding! it’s the “CREW’S” SHIP! All Hands on Deck! …What a LINE ER, good job, David! Ok, eye candy. There’s a plethora today! Below the ships Funnels, we see a man, in uniform, the Captain perhaps, looking VERY relaxed, if you catch my DRIFT…Is that PORT he’s drinking? The women next to him is speaking into a wired HAND mic, the PA system, which Jeff shows us to be blaring off to the side. Below them is a guy with his fingers extended on both HANDS…Who he’s gesturing to, I’m not sure, but he’s smiling and happy! And then there’s the guy in the hot tub…with his hat on, and a drink in his hand…He’s VERY, VERY  happy! We have the couple playing shuffleBOARD, giving us the dialogue, and lastly, the woman sunbathing, with a drink, while using her phone. Phew! What a CREW! So what’s my pick for the day? Way off to the right side…STARBOARD?  Jeff’s signature sinking sailboat! Gets me every time! So, there you have it, Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone! And remember, MOOR often than KNOT, in life, SHIP happensWATER you gonna do? Just get out there, and SEAS the day!  🛳🙋🏻

    • Good Morning, Caro. Yes, you’re right…Smooth Sailing! Good one!
You didn’t put the blower away yet, did you? Another round on the way…Marzo e pazzo! Have a great day, Big Guy! ☃🙋🏻

  1. When the HIKER SWUNG on the SPRUCE tree, he needed to PACIFY the squirrels who were disturbed.
Typical Tuesday puzzle? Clue words were relatively easy and solution, in spite of the dreaded quotation marks, was not tough. Thanks for the details Angela—I tend to dismiss stuff once I have solved the puzzle—although the shuffleboard looked strange to me. Any thoughts?
Enjoyed your song choice and your plethora (oh oh) of puns reminded me of Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s most famous poem.
Hope the Nor’easter doesn’t do what the meteorologists are predicting for the east coast–we seemed to be just to the west of the storm were in western NY.
BTW Angela—I know you are NOT a fan of squirrels but they do have to have a habitat, right?

  2. Good Morning, Earl. Yes, agreed, it was pretty straightforward today. I thought it was cute and clever. Despite the quotes! But then I’ve never dreaded them, in fact, they immediately pique my interest! Enjoyed your sentence, despite the squirrels! 😅And I don’t begrudge them their habitat. As long as they stay up in the trees, I’m good. It’s when they coming flying down at me, like Rocky, when I’m running that tends to make me SEA red! There’s way too many nests all over my area! The poem? I imagine you’re referring to The Rime of the Ancient Mariner? Now that’s a piece of writing! Thanks so much for the shout out, you’re too kind. And the song had to be! The minute I saw the cartoon, I knew! 😉 It was a perfect fit! Shuffleboard… TBT, Earl, I’m not at all familiar with it. Never played. I just know of it. So I have to take a pass. And lastly, the storm. As the hours go by, the forecasters seem to be getting more and more giddy! They live for this stuff! .LOL..But it doesn’t sound like good news to me…I think we’re CRUISIN’ for a BRUISIN’! Let’s enjoy the day, because tomorrow…??? 🙋🏻

  3. Good morning. Enjoyed you today Angela. When I hear that song I’m always thinking of the movie with Al Pacino “Sea of Love”.Love the song, loved the movie. Today’s words were easy with spruce being a tic in a quick read. I solved the cartoon answer fairly quick only I had the answer as “ships crew”. I like mine better so I’m sticking with that. Who’s to say which one is right. The hiker did spruce himself up to pacify his girlfriend that swung with a hip crowd. It’s amazing what us guys will do for ❤️. Until tomorrow stay well. Oh,nice job Earl, had this done before I read yours.

    • Good Morning, Brooklyn. Love “Sea of Love” also. Very much. In fact, I have the old 45! Paul, you soooo make me laugh. I enjoy you EVERY day! And I like your answer, and you’re quite entitled, but you do SEA that the “CREW’S” is a pun for CRUISE, right? So you can stick with whatever you’d like…only you might get thrown OVERBOARD on this one, Bud! 😅 Just Sayin’! But rest assured, you’ve made me smile from ear to ear once again! Thanks so much for the shout out, and Kudos on your sentence. It’s great! And so is the sweet sentiment ❤️ behind it…We hip women 😅 can’t have any scruffy guys hanging around! 😅 BTW…Do you know…any chance he got a CREW CUT? Have a great day, Brooklyn! 🛳🙋🏻

    • Paul. You know today is National Oreo Cookie Day. Dunk those bad boys in a tall glass of “nice cold, ice cold” milk? Ahhhh! 🥛🙋🏻

      • Angela they are not my favorite cookie. I’d rather have chocolate chip or peanut butter cookies. If I’m going to have milk I’d have ice in the glass to make the milk real cold. Thanks for the heads up on today. If I knew how to store the app you gave me I would have known.

      • Hey Brooklyn. I’m right there with you as far as the chocolate chips go, Oreos are my second choice. I’m putting the link up for you again. Maybe before your son or daughter-in-law leaves in the morning, they can save it for you. Let me know how it goes. Talk to you later, Bud. 🍪🙋🏻

    • KNOT not? Key word. You definitely would have had the blind solve with it. It was an easy one today…Have a great day, John. 🛳🙋🏻

  4. Clever puzzle today. I’ve been tripped up by spruce in the past ( always look for something with “up” first) but not today. Have a good day everyone.

    • Good Morning, Betty. I found it very clever also. Interesting how you look at “up”, while I always go to “sp”. The magic of phonics, and sounds, and words, right? Hope you have a great day! 🛳🙋🏻

    • Hi Chuck. I wasn’t aware of the Alamo anniversary. Thanks for the information. That would have been an interesting puzzle. And I would have definitely used 🎶San Antonio Rose🎶 as my song choice! I like that song. Perhaps if Jeff sees this, he’ll consider it FUR a future cartoon. (FUR=Davey Crockett and his Coon-Skin cap! This is how my mind works)! 😂 If you don’t mind, I’m going to correct the word Alamo, and discard your addendum, ok? Glad you had an easy go with the puzzle. Have a great day, Sir! 🙋🏻

  5. Hi, all! Our paper is still in the yard so had to use the Seattle online paper, which times you, so I know that I typed all 4 clue words correctly in less than a minute.

I saw the word SHIP in the letters but didn’t have the whole answer yet. According to that fast-moving timer, it took me 3 minutes to use paper and pen to complete the fun Jumble of the day.

When we went on an Aegean Sea cruise, one of our group was a young girl (maybe 20) who loved the beauty shop so much that she went back to Greece after the trip and became a member of the CREW on that same ship, working in the beauty shop.

  6. Hi Lelia. You had a “good time” with a “good time”! It was a real fun puzzle today. Maybe that young girl you knew was the one giving the CREW CUTS! 😂 Have a great day! 🛳🙋🏻

  7. Hi all – The answer couldn’t be DECK or HAND, so SHIP and the answer popped out. The dreaded SPRUCE got me again. Actually gave up on it after 10 minutes, even knowing the letters. Nice to see an exception to the IC trick on PACIFY, where the IC isn’t at the end of the word.

Also nice to hear Frankie Ford on his Sea Cruise, although he occupies the same space in my brain as Freddy (Boom-Boom) Cannon and I often get them mixed up.

Shufffleboard – Kind of a mixture of curling and bocce with some horseshoes thrown in, all on a rolling deck. If that doesn’t make you seasick then you’re all set for the rest of the trip.

“Safeway song from the ceiling” this morning – “These Dreams” by Heart.
Like an angelic choir from above.
    Have a good one!

    • 🎶Every second of the night, I live another life…🎶 Angelic and a bit haunting, right? ..You know, I think maybe because we’re East coasters, but we never seem to mix up Freddy Cannon with anyone; the signature 🎶Palisades Park” being a place familiar to so many. Kind of etched in your mind. IDK! I think spruce got a few people last time, but besides Pauls quick tic, no ones mentioned it yet today. I saw it and as I said, immediately thought how well it WOOD have gone y’day! Hope you have a good one, Grasshopper! Talk to you later.🙋🏻
