THEY DROVE AT 60 MPH, AND HIS ANNOYING PASSENGER WAS TALKING A —

MITAIULENME = MILE A MINUTE

Good Monday morning and welcome back to another week of Jumble fun!  All of the clue words came instantly today as they usually do with Monday puzzles.  Moving on to the cartoon, we encounter two men in a vehicle where there is a one-sided conversation taking place.  The passenger seem’s very happy and is blathering on about coffee while the look on the driver’s face as well as the thought bubble above his head indicate that he’s not enthused by the topic of conversation.  The letter layout on this one left the answer very cryptic, however; I already had an idea as to what the solution was going to be by reading the sentence.  I wrote the letters down just to double check myself and sure enough it all worked out.  Looking at the cartoon one last time, I noticed no rear window to the vehicle and wonder if they are driving in a convertible.  Their ties are nice and straight so I guess we’ll have to wait and hear from Mr. Knurek on that one.  Let me know what you think and enjoy your Monday.  I’ll see you tomorrow!

  1. 🎶”You talk too much, you worry me to death, you talk too much, you even worry my pet..You just talkkkk alkkkkk alkkkkk alkkkkk…Talk too much…”🎶.
    Could just be familiarity, but the MINUTE I RED this cartoon, BOOM!…I HEARD the answer…”You Talk a MILE a MINUTE..”, “Come Up For AIR”.., “Do You Ever Get TIREd”? (Ah, if I had a dollar for every time I heard these growing up)!
    Easy, breezy Monday morning words, although I can’t count the NUMBER of times the GHT words would STOP me in the past. Not anymore. So, CHAUFFEUR so good, on to the CARtoon…”BUCKLE up, Folks…It’s going to be a bumpy ride”. (I would have loved to use that classic Bette Davis line here, but I had to get BUCKLE in there). Jeff’s showing us two men CARpooling to work. The DRIVER has that distinctive look of a “real” person. (I thought he MIGHT FAINTly resemble Robert de Niro, but there’s the hair). The passenger, oblivious to the fact that he’s ANNOYING the driver, is just RUNNING his mouth, with a ONE WAY conversation! SLOW down with the caffeine, Dude! The question states MILES PH, and there it is, GREEN LIGHT…done! The eye candy? I think I’ll GO with the drivers’ grip on the WHEEL. He keeps that up…? CARPOOL TUNNEL Syndrome for sure! So, are the Jumble Guys in a ROUNDABOUT way trying to STEER us TOWard a lesson here? Is there a hidden WARNING in our puzzle? Could be. CAUSEWAY down the LINE, reLANEtionships can eRODE over the most MINUTE things. Maybe these guys AUTO rethink this, and put the BRAKES on it before it takes a TURN for the worse. Some people just aren’t GEARed to get along, and they reFUEL to see the SIGNS. But before this takes a further TOLL, and totally EXHAUSTs their friendship, I think these two need to see the LIGHT. And SWITCHBACK to driving alone. Yeah, that’s the TICKET!
    So, once again I’ve used a LOT of poetic LICENSE here today. I may have annoyed or ofFENDERed you, and you may be CLUTCHing your head, but to be FARE, I’ve already admitted to being a MOTOR mouth. Just be TANKful you don’t live with me…I’d DRIVE you crazy!!!
    🎶”Monday, Monday…”🎶 EXIT it wonderful! Enjoy Everyone! 🚗 🚘 🙋🏻

  2. The manager MIGHT FAINT at the NUMBER of belt BUCKLEs missing from the men’s department in his store.
    And the first sentence I came up with but wasn’t thrilled with:
    A NUMBER of kibitzers at the bridge tournament MIGHT FAINT when the leading table began to BUCKLE.
    Easy solve today and I did pretty much what Mike did– worked it all out in my head and then wrote out the letters to be sure.

  3. That’s what I thought, Mike, that it’s a convertible, and their ties are straight because they’re stopped in traffic. But then I thought, the clue says they drove at 60 MPH. But then I looked at the coffee cup, and there’s a cloud of vapor hanging over it that would be blown away at that speed. But then I thought DO YOU THINK I’M OVERTHINKING THIS JUST A BIT??? (Too much Peet’s coffee!)

    A joke from my uncle:
    “It took me three hours to get my top down yesterday.”
    “Three hours? It only takes me three minutes”
    “Yeah, but you’ve got a convertible.”

    • Hey Paul. Same thing happens to me, it comes in hours later. Strangest thing. I don’t know if you notice, but your name isn’t printing. It’s coming through as Anonymous.
      Enjoy the game also! So great for NY fans! ⚾️🙋🏻
