Jumble Answers for 01/04/2017

TAAPD = ADAPT

XCATE = EXACT

DAMIDY = MIDDAY

DIMELD = MIDDLE

CARTOON ANSWER:

ATEAYL = “EATALY”

Good Wednesday morning everybody!  What a fun puzzle today featuring some great clue words and a wonderful cartoon.  ADAPT and EXACT were rather easy but the two D’s together in MIDDAY had me stumped for a minute.  With all of the clue words solved, it was on to the cartoon.  It looks like David, Jeff and their spouses were having a wonderful Italian feast at Cafe Rosa.  I really liked the napkin tucked into Jeff’s shirt and the historic landscape pictured in the background.  I visited Rome in the summer of 2016 and it was so hot that we stopped at what seemed like every gelato shop on our walking tour of the city.  The cartoon answer was easy to figure out being only 7 letters long and all of the imagery pictured.  I hope your New Year is off to a great start and you’re sticking to your resolution if you made one.  I’ll see you bright and early tomorrow morning!  😀

  1. Another easy one today “Wednesday”. Midday I remember from before, took maybe ten seconds longer than the rest. I can’t get over the fact that one gets annoyed if the puzzle is either too hard or easy. Am amazed that you could see that there was a napkin on one person. I had to get out the magnifying glass and still found it hard to find out which one had the napkin. It’s interesting looking for your comments. Have a pleasant day

  2. I have enjoyed Jumble for years. My hometown newspaper has a contest each week. You mail in the 6 completed Jumbles and are eligible for cash prizes ($10 x 5 and $100 x 1). I never bothered with this as I simply enjoy the puzzle. Recently, a friend told me that you could Google the solutions each day and I arrived here. No issue with your site whatsoever, but our local contest isn’t really a contest when you can just come here for the answers. I emailed the newspaper and suggested that the $7,800 they pay out annually would best be directed toward registered charities. No reply yet, but I remain hopeful.

    • Hi Michael! The idea of getting a prize for doing the puzzle is a great idea! I started this site after getting stuck one day and not being able to find help. I can understand how filling that void has made the contest easier for some, those folks who complete it “honestly” shouldn’t be penalized. The charity option should be up to the winner.

      • After the cost of an envelope and a stamp, the “prize” of likely $10 (5 out of 6 win $10) isn’t really much to be excited about. I’m OK with winners selecting their favourite charity, but not as an option to taking cash. I have volunteered for several years at a day shelter and being selected just 1 week to receive the $150 would go a long way.
        Just my opinion!

  3. The four words were easy to unscramble although midday took me a few minutes to get. I could not get the puzzle answer… I think the eat part in eataly. Should have been in quotation marks. That’s just my opinion
