Happy Thursday, Jumble players! Today’s clue words were no trouble at all and they reminded me of a Monday morning solve. The only word that needed a second glance was PLUME because at first I thought it might be PUMEL but it didn’t have two M’s. It’s my choice for the most difficult anagram of the day and it was time to switch gears and focus my attention on the cartoon.

Back on Monday we saw a cartoon that featured the Wright brothers and I spoke about how they opened a bicycle rental and repair shop in 1893. In today’s panel we see a more modern bicycle shop where a woman and an employee are having a conversation. By reading the dialogue and sentence we learn that the woman has brought her 10-speed in for repair but the news isn’t what she was hoping to hear. With a confused look on his face, the employee asks the customer what century her beloved bicycle is from. The fact that Jeff chose century instead of decade in the dialogue was a key clue for me while attempting the final solve.

The cartoon had some interesting details hidden within so hopefully you weren’t two tired to spot them. The bicycle was definitely the focus of the cartoon with the broken shifter knobs dangling down from the intricately wrapped handle bars. If you look closely at the seat, you’ll probably be able to see that it has a height adjustment mechanism underneath it! Did you notice the new mountain bike in the background? Just above the front tire would have been a great spot for one of Jeff’s signature “J’s” but today it’s just a squiggly little line. And then I saw the shop name on the wall. Bicycle was spelled BICYLCLE and it appears to be a spelling mistake. It was very obvious to me so I thought that Jeff might have included it for some other reason. I had a thought that it was another anagram so I tried my best to make words out of it with no luck. If you have any thoughts on it, please leave a comment below.

The final solve was no trouble at all with CYCLE jumping right out at me. LIFE was quickly deciphered for the finish and another puzzle was solved. Have a terrific Thursday and I’ll see you tomorrow!
