Good Morning, Everyone!         🐱 TABBY….OR NOT TABBY…🐱

🎶 I hear the cottonwoods whisperin’ above…TABBY, TABBY, TABBY’S in love..
The old hootie owl hootie-hoo’s to the dove…TABBY, TABBY, TABBY’S in love…🎶

🐱 We’ve all seen those commercials, where the sounds of can openers…
Can make a cat a RUNNER, be it Frisky, Jules, or Spurs.
There’s nothing POISEd about them, they skid as they are SWEPT
Across the floor while heading to the place their bowl is kept…
A can needs to be DUGOUT before the cat is fed…
(Of course I know I’m using it wrong…I’m baseball born and bred…)!
The cat has this big smile, and the woman, look at her…!
She’s just as happy feeding him his favorite meal…”SUP -“PURR” 🐱

Oh, Jeff…not again! Oh, the humanity! Oh, the inhumanity! Today’s words…I think DUGOUT may not sit well with some, and between that and RUNNER? You may be SCRATCHING your head…Our puzzle. Today’s TAIL, is one FUR the CAT Lovers out there…But what gives? Is David trying to lay down the CLAW with Jeff? We’ve just had a CAT puzzle on Monday the 2nd, and now another one here on CATurday the 14th? Is he KITTEN? Why the rePETition? For those of you who may not know, David’s a CAT person, Jeff PURRfers dogs. And yet HAIR we are again. PAW Jeff…We see a kitchen. We see a woman. We see a humongous CAT. And what a PUSS! Grinning like he already ate that PURRverbial canary! PURRfectly content…Talk about a FAT CAT…This is one FURmidable feline! Our question asks…What was the CAT’S favorite meal?…“SUP-PURR“! Good one, David! AMEWsing! Ok, eye candy…Really not much to see besides the Great CATSby here..with his TAIL swishing back and forth. So I’ll just go with the empty CAT food can in the woman’s hand. You can actually see the little tab top. Great deTAIL, Jeff! So, There you have it Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone… CATch you later…🐱🙋🏻

    • Good Morning, Big Guy. Good one…And you’re right. So easy, breezy! Have a great day, Caro. 🐱🙋🏻

  1. When the pinch RUNNER SWEPT past third base, he was welcomed in the DUGOUT with high fives and accepted them with POISE. An easy solve all round. Nice beginning to Saturday.
Thanks for the “Tammy” reference Angela—I’ve loved that song for more years than I care to admit.
Your puns and poems were perfect (and there have been enough puns on that word) and gave me some Cheshire Cat grins and set my whiskers a twitter.
Have a restful, peaceful Saturday everyone.

    • Good Morning, Earl. I agree, such an easy go of it today. And you, Sir! What a great sentence! You’ve definitely hit it out of the park with this one! I love it. Thank you for the shout out. The minute I thought Tabby, the song started “playing” in my head. Sweet, innocent song, I’m glad you like it. Happy to give you some smiles this morning, and I like your use of words reFURing to our CATegory today! Well done! Wishing you a restful, peaceful day also. Be well! 🐱🙋🏻

  2. Good morning. Over all Angela I’d give you a A+. PURfect choice for the song. You did your job by getting me to laugh. The movie was entertaining with Debbie Reynolds. Earl, fantastic use of the words as always. No problem with the words with only a slight hitch on Poise. You know how I hate puzzles in quotation marks. Yea I got it but I do not see the humor in it. Probably because I have such a hard time with them. Anyway it’s done and now awaiting Sunday. Until then. Take care and stay well.

    • Good Morning, Brooklyn. Thank you, Bud. You know how much I love it when you laugh. The song had me smiling too…So I got you thinking movies 2 days in a row, huh? Now that’s a RECORD I’d like to continue…Let’s see what they give me to work with. You know I’m only the messenger…No GRIN with the solution though? I’d be LION if I didn’t admit it was pretty obvious: SUPPER…But the PURR was a cute pun…We can’t expect to be BOWLed over every day…Hope you’re enjoying the weather, Bud. CATch you later! 🐱🙋🏻

  3. I’ve wheezing for the last couple of weeks worth of puzzles. I think I’m in the clear for a while though.

    • PAW Baby! I’m FELINE your pain! Good Morning, Jeff. I hope so, FUR your sake. Suggestion…Not to seem CATTY, but If PUSS comes to shove, get a CLAWS in your next contract. Start the paPURR work over…PET your foot down, and KIBBLE over the deTAILS if need be. Wheezing! PURRposterous! Feel FLEA to call me if you need BACK UP. I’ll write a LITTER for you..Be WAUL, Bud…🐱🙋🏻

  4. Now today was a good pun, though I fell victim to the quotation trepidation. (Angela) Had PURR on the blind, but not SUP. Half credit perhaps? Words all came easily as well.

    Until tomorrow.

    • Good Morning, John. Yes, it was. Although here today, Paul didn’t think so. Which brings truth to what you said y’day, “to each his own”. And speaking of, in hindsight, I hope I didn’t offend you by my comment y’day. If I did, I apologize. Please know it wasn’t meant as criticism at all, just observation. Half credit? LOL…We grade on the curve here, John…you get the full pass! I’m a little surprised though, that so far today, no ones mentioned Dugout, one of those ofttimes dreaded compound words. I decided at 3:30 this morning, thanks to two friends voicing first glance complaints over it, to coin a new phrase for us, the Confound Compounds. (And once I reminded them that they both had just attended the Mets game earlier, they blinked and realized what it was. I’m seriously considering giving them only half credit…).
Have a good one, John! 🐱⚾️🙋🏻

  5. Hi, all! Wow! I had a super speedy Saturday solve before getting even 3 bites of scrumptious scrambled eggs stuffed into my mouth. I SWEPT through the words & cartoon answer with the POISE of a RUNNER who has hit a home run and is headed for home plate and then the DUGOUT.

I loved the cartoon picture of the happy cat since I am a cat lover, which I have told you before and will tell you again.

Have a super Saturday, all, and so shall I.

    • HI Lelia. I trust we’ll all be in agreement today that this puzzle was truly a gift. Nice baseball analogy! Hope you have a great day! Be well. 🐱🙋🏻

    • Hi Lelia – Here’s a good water song for you, from the fountains to the sea. Written by Stevie Nicks, performed with Lindsey Buckingham on their solo album, later also on the album “Fleetwood Mac” after both had joined the group.
It has one of my favorite lyrics:
🎵”Now the faces of love have changed, turning the pages.
And I have changed. Ah, but you — you remain ageless.”🎵

This is the somewhat less heard original. One of the comments says “straight from the heart.” Sound familiar? I agree.

      • Hi, Steve! Thank you so much for the sweet, calming song Crystal. You seem to know what kind of song I need. I agree with the familiar sounding comment “straight from the heart.” I liked a lot of the other comments, too, including the one about putting 12 strings onto a 6-string guitar. Very interesting.

  6. Hi all – A short PAWS (written pre-Moose😉) at the last two words, then I thought PUR-FECT but I knew PURR wouldn’t be misspelled.

    For the non-baseball fans:
The POISE of the triathlete RUNNER was tested when the DUGOUT canoe SWEPT close by during the swimming portion.

🎵”How does it feel when we stand hand in glove
    Clammy, Clammy, Clammy my love”🎵
I know I DUGOUT that Spike Jones recently, but I had to balance out the sweetness for breakfast 😂

    See you tomorrow.

    In history:
    1865 – President Lincoln shot
1912 – Titanic hits an iceberg and begins sinking.

    • …and just seeing this! We’re even, Stephen! 😉 It ended up in my junk folder…TRUNK folder! Great use with the canoe. You stand alone with this one today! 👏🏻 Kudos! Did Spike do “Clammy”? I’m going to look…But G…your HISStory lessons today…Find me something a little less FURlorn! Have a good one, Bud…CATch you later…🐱🙋🏻

      • I understand about the history, but I’m just reporting it; can’t re-write it.
At least there’s *one* happy one tomorrow – although come to think of it, maybe not for a Yankee fan! 😂🙋🏻‍♂️

        • LOL..But who gave you this assignment? If we want to relive gloom and doom, we could just re-watch Tuesday nights Yankee game! Speaking of which…T’row? This wouldn’t be a Walter O’ Malley reference…would it? 😂🙋🏻

    • The A’s gave the M’s a game last night. Unfortunately, I slept through all of the excitement in the 7th.

Regarding Necco Wafers, the supply seems good in Spokane. Bought a few rolls and even found an online supplier still selling at retail rather than fantasy pricing. Thought about trying to corner the market, but margins not large enough to support low volumes at this point. Ate one roll and realized that they aren’t quite as good as I remember. My Swiss born wife wouldn’t even finish one!

      • That’s funny, John! I think you can take the phrase “gave them a game” in two different senses, both accurate, considering our bullpen!

And I was going to tell you that you’d have to step up your game regarding Necco Wafers, after reading about a woman who had offered to trade her Honda for the entire remaining supply on some website. About the taste, I think it’s we who have changed, not the wafers! 😂
