Good Morning, Everyone!              🗣COME BLOW YOUR HORN....🗣

🎶If I want to honky tonk around ’til two or three, Now, brother that’s my headache, don’t you worry ’bout me….Just MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS,
(Mind your own business)…If you mind your business, then you won’t be mindin’ mine.🎶

🗣 The jungle seems unlikely, a setting for this theme
One doesn’t think of privacy with animals it seems
But it don’t take a GENIUS to see the problem here
The Giraffe looks plain ITCHY as the Rhino does appear…
There’s no NUANCE in manner, he’s telling him right out
There’s no OFFER of welcome, instead it’s more “Get out”
They feel the Rhino’s nosy, he’s just being quite rude
Imagine if he came along and tried to touch their food!
But privacy is privacy, so once the talks begin
No man or beast should be so rude as to go HORNING IN!🗣

Today’s words may just bring out the BEAST in some of us. We’ve seen GENIUS and OFFER not too long ago, and Dave may have scratched up ITCHY before, but NUANCE? Nothing SUBTLE there! If it’s not new, maybe it should be, because that’s one SHADY word! And speaking of subtle…Today’s cartoon. Jeff brings us to what just may be a Rumble in the Jungle! We see a Zebra and a Giraffe having a conversation, as a Rhinoceros approaches, with his large HORN in PLAIN sight. Neither of the two are receptive to him. They feel he’s just RUDE to intRUDE on their private conversation, and they’re not happy aTALL! And since Jeff shows us the Rhino coming between them, he’s HORNING IN! Good one, Dave! RHINO you could do it! Ok, eye candy. Not much to see besides the animals…it’s pretty PLAIN. But Jeff’s given us a tiny little BIRD perched way back atop the Rhino. I hope he’s not one to carry a TALE! So, There you have it Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone…And remember, 🎶If you mind your own business, then you won’t be mindin’ mine…🎶 🗣🙋🏻

  1. There was a clever NUANCE in the OFFER the GENIUS scientist made to solve an ITCHY problem.
I was no GENIUS today — could not get “sueing out of my head! And I thought I was a good speller. Otherwise not a tough puzzle to solve, the cartoon gave us all the clues we needed.
Angela, that little bird you spotted is a great help to rhinos. He/she is not just riding along, he is picking off parasites that could cause skin problems. And I don’t mean to be pedantic and you enlightened me yesterday but these animals are not found in a jungle(tropical rain forest) their habitat is the savanna or plains of Africa. Rhinos in the rivers and zebras and giraffes in the grassy plain with some trees. All this from someone who lived in the Sahel and the rain forest–at different times and places of course.

    • Good Morning, Earl. I should have realized, and not used the word jungle. And I put the word PLAIN in there twice, too! There wasn’t much to pun about, so Rumble in the Jungle just popped into my head. My bad! And the little Bird? Again, I was looking for a TALE pun, but thanks for the info, it’s always good to learn something new. Love your sentence, especially the use of itchy. Hope you have a great day! 🙋🏻

      • I agree, always a good day when we learn anything. At the “real” Rumble in the Jungle”. the Greatest would not have seen any zebras or giraffes. Possibly a rhino if he had taken a long boat ride up the Congo. I neglected to say that I did enjoy your post and should not have over focused on the jungle reference. Have a good Friday. 🌞 🌴 😃

      • Good Ali reference, Earl. And as I said y’day, I’m always open to learning anything new. No problem with the Jungle faux pas. It’s all good…I have THICK SKIN! 😉 And…Thanks for the shoutout! 🙋🏻

  2. Good morning.Angela and Earl, I really enjoy reading the both of you every day. I say this with great admiration. We always get the Long and the short version with the words from you two. It fun to see two views. Had a devil of a time with the last three words today. I switched to the cartoon and got the answer immediately. Couldn’t help but see that horn which was a dead giveaway. When I went back to the words Itchy appeared which gave me a big smile for being so slow. Now I knew I needed five more letters which were Ginnn. It still took me a half hour more to only come up with Genius which of course I clearly was not. Even knowing where the two Ns belonged in the last word I finally gave in and looked for the answer. Even though I had so much trouble today I really had fun in trying to solve it. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Good Morning, Brooklyn. How’re you doing? Thanks very much for the shout out, you always put a smile on my face! Nuance isn’t a word seen that often, and it was anagrammed really well. But you’re right…The answer was a TIP off! Glad you had fun with it!
      Enjoy the day! Ciao! 🙋🏻

    • Hey Chuck. Good Morning! I think it’s programmed into us to put “un” together when we see it. Creatures of habit that we are…It was a cute solve though…Have a great day! 🙋🏻

  3. Another vote for “Genius” as the stumper of the day. Figured out the cartoon answer and backed into it. You’re right, Angela I was looking for un or in. Sometimes we have to think of the ending of the word instead of the beginning. Happy Friday everyone.

    • Good Morning, Betty. Yes, I think it’s just natural for us to focus on those letters as lead ins. Luckily the solution was simple, and it afforded the needed letters. It was a good anagram.
Wishing you a great day! 🙋🏻

    • Hi Caroline. As I told Paul, understandable…Nuance isn’t the most commonly seen word. And yes, we got a little wild life lesson today! 😂 Have a good one! 🙋🏻

  4. Hi, all! I thought it was going to be “butting in” until I noticed that there was no “b” in any of the clue words. I had to self-jumble 10 times before getting NUANCE.

In my humble opinion, the only RUDE animal in the cartoon is the giraffe with the angry look on its face and unfriendly dialog. In that exact same situation, I would have said to the rhino, “Hey, buddy! Maybe we were just saying nice things about YOU. How is your day going so far?”

Jerry & I are off to 7 different places, including our last stop at KFC. Yum!

  5. Hi all – ITCHY took an extra look. It seemed to be some form of SCYTHE for a minute. Then it was UN-CAN-E how long it took for NUANCE to appear.

It’s always interesting hearing about your travels, Earl. I’ve only been out of the country once, and at this point I think even Savannah GEORGIA would be much too exotic for me.

I would say have a “Wild Weekend” and post the lyrics, except for the slight technicality that it’s an instrumental (Hey Paul, another one I’d forgotten!) The YouTube version has a great set of 60’s pictures to go with it.

    • Hey Steve. Uncanny’s a cute one! …SUBTLE! And RHINO how those YouTube links take up half the page! Have a good one, Grasshopper…🙋🏻

      • Hi Angela – Since you and Caroline both mentioned it, I did find a one-extra-step workaround to avoid the big preview pictures from Youtube links. If you post the link into the “tinyurl” site to create a new one, and then copy and post that one, the huge picture doesn’t appear.

Enjoy the spring training games! As for me, the laundry calls and I must answer. 🙋🏻‍♂️

      • Tks, Steve. I’m going to try it first… Not here though! 😉 I’m watching on my phone. Hope the game lasts long enough for me to get home. Stanton looks so small!!! 😂Talk to you later!🙋🏻

      • My pleasure. I often use tinyurl here to shorten the really long newspaper story links so they don’t run outside the boxes and mess up the blog formatting.

    • GENIUS? Embarrassing? PREY tell? You SUBTLELY blowing your own HORN again? 😉 And you know there’s no promoting self-praise or jealousy around here…It’s UnHERD of…Hope we’re all still Happy Hoosiers after tonight’s game…Have a good one! 🙋🏻

    • Carol, Never fear…there’s no GENIUSES here! You’re in very good company…We’re like Avis, we just try harder! Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great day! 🙋🏻
