CARTOON ANSWER:  SHE PURCHASED THE BILLBOARD FROM SOMEONE

WHO WAS HAPPY TO – – –

HSVIRIROONGETTE = SIGN IT OVER TO HER

Good Morning, Everyone!        🆕🖊 SIGN…LANGUAGE? 🖊🆕

🎶Oh yeah baby, like a fool I went and stayed too long…Now I’m wondering if your love’s still strong…Oo baby, here I am, SIGNED, sealed, delivered, I’m yours. Then that time I went and said goodbye…Now I’m back and not ashamed to cry…Oo baby, here I am, SIGNED, sealed, delivered, I’m yours…Here I am baby…SIGNED, sealed delivered, I’m yours…🎶

🆕 🖊So selling off a Billboard? I just never gave a thought
Of all the things one thinks of that can be sold or bought,
Right now it’s reading Jumble, on our OUTING near at hand
I’m not an EXPERT but I’ll start by looking at the land.
A country road, I see some birds, an AVIARY near?
It’s just a thought at my first glance, don’t NEGATE the idea…
We have a man and woman, her HAIRDO’s kind of odd
And we can see the deal is done upon the auto’s bod…
The man will now have permanent HIATUS so it were…
And that’s why he’s so happy to SIGN IT OVER TO HER!

I think my meter may be off a little this morning, but our words sure aren’t. I’m pretty sure we’ve seen them all before, but I think the anagramming of HIATUS and AVIARY may cause you to TAKE A BREAK and say..”THIS IS FOR THE BIRDS”! Hmm. Ok, on to our cartoon. We’re on a country road, seeing a transaction taking place between a man and a woman. She’s buying his BILLBOARD, which right now is heralding the Jumble. What are the odds? There’re both thrilled. What are the odds? She’s SIGNING the contract right here on the road. What-are-the-odds? Odds are, Jeff’s giving us our solve…He was happy to SIGN IT OVER TO HER! Dot the I’s and cross the T’s! We got ourselves a deal! Good work, Guys! The WRITINGs on the wall…I mean the Billboard…A winner! Ok, eye candy. Let’s see…I’ve already mentioned the BIRDS, and the man has a PAUNCH. Oh, SWELL, that may RUFFLE a FEATHER or two! The woman’s blonde, and dressed in purple…Wow, What are the odds? No really...WHAT ARE THE ODDS? I should just reSIGN myself to it, huh? …Whatever. But I’m going with the license plate. Under the contract, if you look real closely? The bottom portion of a capital J! JAY…What are the odds? So, there you have it Folks, Done!
Have a great day, Everyone! SIGNyonara! 🖊🆕🙋🏻

  1. This was a tough one. Problem with words and solution. Must be brain freeze. Enjoying the heat wave. Have a great Sunday.

    • Good Morning, Moose. Just one of those days, huh? Ah, just WRITE it off…More importantly…
🎶Are you ready for some Football?🎶 See you on the gridiron, Big Guy! 🏈🙋🏻

  2. Morning, all –
Once I saw sign, the rest of the answer came to mind. But I had to back into hiatus.
I’m a little late answering Lelia’s question, but I pay $38 a month for the local newspaper. Breakfast wouldn’t be the same without reading the paper and doing the Jumble.

    • Good Morning, Caroline. Hiatus, not one of our everyday words. And I totally agree…(Especially on Sunday’s…puzzles, puzzles everywhere….)! Have a good one! 🖊🙋🏻

  3. During an OUTING while on HIATUS from her tv show, the star tried an AVIARY HAIRDO created by an EXPERT who swore it would NEGATE any critics’ bad reviews.
I know we have had HIATUS and HAIRDO before but they still slowed me way down.
The solution took longer than usual also–the “sign” hint flew by me and I struggled.
Great post Angela and again thanks for the details I otherwise would not see.
Sunny, sunny Sunday, love it. 🌞 🌞 Have a great day and root for your favorite team.

    • Good Morning, Earl. You’re very welcome, and Thank you very much! What the H, HuH? And SIGN FLEW by you? …No harm, no FOUL..LONG as you TOUCHed DOWN! Creative sentence, as always…you incorporated two different FIELDS! Sun shinging DOWNstate, too..Enjoy! See ya on the Gridiron! 🏈🙋🏻

  4. SHOUT 🗣OUT MIKE: Even though I already told you, I’m making a PSA of sorts: Great graphic! You SHORE picked a good one! 👏🏻🙋🏻

      • LOL…IDK, Bud. SHORE is a LOT of free advertising being slung around!! Is this all above BOARD?? GAME ON…You got First Blood!! Got your poison ready? 🍻🥜? 🤦🏻‍♀️

      • 🎵”On a day like today
        He passed the time away
        Scratching Jumbleanswers in the sand
How he laughed when I cried
Each time I saw the tide
Take our Jumbleanswers from the sand
You made a vow that you
        Would help with the clue
        And somehow, these words
        Came easy to you.
        But tomorrow, you know,
You just might see the snow
        Cover Jumbleanswers in the sand!🎵 ☃️🌊🌞? 🙋🏻‍♂️

        • No, it’s a rock. The ocean was really churning yesterday and was kicking everything up. I’ll go back and get a few “perfect” pictures soon. 😁

          • Well, tell him I think he’s a very cute little rock! 😂😂
Not at all “dumb as a…. “ 😂🙋🏻‍♂️

  5. Well today’s puzzle was a challenge for me. I struggled with hiatus and negate. Figured out the cartoon solution and worked backwards on those two words. So I’ve had my brain teaser for the day. Have a good Sunday everyone.

    • Hi Betty. I think HIATUS may be the Brain-BREAKer today….! Good Sunday to you too! 🙋🏻

  6. Hi all – Now that was a hard one for me today. I only got HAIRDO because we’ve seen it before, but it still couldn’t see OUTING until I thought to use the same trick of turning it INTO two words. Then I actually wrote ENGATE without seeing NEGATE for awhile. Then “OO-EE, II” couldn’t see the answer even after separating the vowels out, until I figured SIGN must be one of the words, then OVER.

The billboard message reminded me of a story from when the internet was just getting started – the BBC was surprised one day to find that an older couple had shown up at their London headquarters because they had heard an invitation to “come and visit our website.”

Have a great Sunday! We’re in for some welcome rain, but nothing drastic is expected.

    • Ah, Grasshopper…Ala The Big Lebowski…Sometimes the bear eats you…On to trow! Ironic that you scored with HAIRDO though, no? Just Sayin’! 😉 You can just BRUSH that off…
And that couple? I remember the story…They really STARTed out just WINDOW shopping….You know just BROWSEring…
Settle in…And let the Games Begin…See ya on the Gridiron, Bud! 🏈🙋🏻

  7. Hi, all! I took a HIATUS from doing the Jumble words, which I rarely do, because I am worn out from taking care of Jerry with the flu. I am catching up on eating, sleeping, and chores.

Caroline, I saw your post & smiled at the thought that you felt obligated to answer my spur of the moment question about newspaper prices, which generated more interest & answers than I would have imagined. Thank you, dear one.

Mike, you said yesterday that you were going for a walk on the beach. Did you do that perfect printing in the sand yourself? If so, wow! If not, wow anyway!!

Steve, thank you for your good wishes to Jerry, which I read to him & he appreciated. Then he laughed and agreed with your suggestion that 30 degree temp might do us in. He said he’s hoping it’ll be the high 30’s. LOL

    • Hi Lelia. Sorry to hear Jerry’s not feeling well. Thoughts and prayers for you both. Be well 🙏🏻🙋🏻

      • Hi, Angela, thank you for your thoughts & prayers for Jerry and me. He got a flu shot in the fall, but we chose the low dose one. Next year I’ll let them give him the stronger one.

This last Tues nite, before his procedure/surgery on Wed, he wanted to go to his AZ Prospector’s meeting. I reminded him that he went in January last year & got sick with a cough that lasted for weeks, but he went anyway. When he woke up quite ill on Friday morning, I really wanted to say, “I told you so!!” So I did. LOL

Angela, when we both mentioned Doris Day’s “love you a bushel & a peck,” you said that you sang it to the Littles. Who are your Littles? For quite a while we called our last 2 grandkids our Little Ones, but not now that they are almost 20. Time flies!!

        • You’re very welcome, Lelia. I hope he recovers soon. I took a flu shot early enough for it to “take effect”, and I caught pneumonia a while back. But I don’t sleep well, or eat right, and I run, sometimes when it’s too cold out. Who knows. It’s a strong strain this year. The Littles are my youngest nieces and nephews. We were saying “the little ones…the little ones”..and then one night a few years ago someone said..”Where are the Littles..”? and it just stuck. It does have a ring to it! Be well! 👫🙋🏻

      • “The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco….” Mark Twain.
        Be BRRRave…Cali Boy! 😬🙋🏻

      • Hi, Steve! I am still thanking you for your first warning to me that cold weather was coming our way by telling me to, “Button up.” I immediately put a spare jacket in my car for just-in-case. Yesterday, I knew it was cold so wore a jacket from the house, but before that I have gone freezing cold several times from a restaurant, store, doctor’s office, etc. to get my just-in-case jacket and thought of you. Thanks again for your timely, great advice! Stay warm, fellow wimp!!

    • I did make it myself, Lelia. If you look back through yesterday’s comments, you’ll see that I left you a little surprise. Have a great day and tell Jerry that I hope he feels better real soon. 🙂

      • Hi, Mike! WOW!!!!! That is a HUGE surprise, and I thank you for it & for letting me know it was there. I just copied it onto photo paper & it looks great. I’m going to frame it. It’s perfect. I love the writing and the beautiful foamy wave that rolled onto the beach. Thank you for sharing your artistic expertise with me. It’s a treasure.

        • I’m so happy that you liked it. My intent is to make one for all of the “regulars” here in the forum so they came use it for their profile photo. 🙂

      • Hi, Mike! So, when you’re out there enjoying a walk & breathing that refreshing ocean air, you are thinking of all of us. Aww, how sweet!! And what a lovely way to show it!

      • Hi, Steve! Congrats on making Mike so happy with your genius job of picking that song for him. The song was perfect and the singer, Pat Boone with his sweet, mellow voice, was perfect. Now I can’t stop singing Love Letters in the Sand, but I wonder if Mike, born in the 80’s, knows about that 50’s song.

      • Mike, he did make the song up by himself, almost every word, but if you know the song he patterned it after then you can sing it to the same tune. If you’re not interested in singing it, you don’t need to know the song at all. I should not have said anything. Sorry. I just though it was amazing how perfectly he matched his words to the tune, but again, they were HIS words.

        • Lelia. There’s nothing to be sorry about. I gave my Buddy Steve a round of applause the minute he posted it. We’re just joking here…No harm, no foul. I teased Mike about Earl only because he and I did this song months ago…it’s all in fun…!🙋🏻

  8. Good evening. Props to all of you guys today. When I checked to see if I had the blog,I saw the first word and immediately went off. My mind went blank and I didnt get it until the fifth word. Hairdo was the last word to get and when I did, I just busted out laughing. I’m shaking my head in disbelief as to why it took so long. As to the cartoon I had three of the smaller words written down but a different one for the first. The four remaining letters didn’t make anything so I went to the park to see who was there for bocce. After we fixed one of the three courts we had eight players for the first game then only six for another three games. Was nice seeing some of the guys who we haven’t seen since shortly after Christmas. Now back home I called my friend who had company and she didn’t even start it. Soooo, I decided to give up and read your comments. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Hey Paul. You can certainly paint a picture! I chuckle listening to you! I wondered where you were this morning. Hiatus was a little tough to see right out of the gate. So why’d you have to “fix the court”? Great day for Bocce, it was so nice out. Glad you dropped in. Watching the Eagles? Dominating! Have a good one, Brooklyn! 🙋🏻

      • They spent millions of dollars on three new courts besides new handball and tennis courts. Of our three courts two are 1/3rd covered on both ends with the middle open. The middle court is covered all the way. But, they did such a bad job on the overhead that when it rains drops slip through the bolts covering the clear plastic that the drops create softball holes. We usually use only one of the outside court but it’s still wet from all the snow that was on it. The middle one that’s fully covered was in better shape. We had to remove all the leaves and fill in the craters. The parks department hasn’t given us any extra fill to fix the courts. So you borrow from Peter to pay Paul. We have been getting the run-around about repairing the roofs. Nothing is going to be done probably until summer. There you have the facts Ma’am, just the facts.

        • LOL..Listen, Friday…You forgot to say..”Ma’am”…Where’s your manners? 😂😂
It’s a shame how they spend all this money, and then either cut corners near the end or just hire some slipshod mooks who end up botching the whole thing. NYC, right? But let me get this straight…youre borrowing from Peter….and YOU’RE pocketing the money? No wonder you like it there so much…! 😂😂 I give you guys credit for picking up the slack…This isn’t Marine Park, is it? I think I may have asked you once before…A lot of memories of “mis-spent youth” in Marine Park! 😉🙄

  9. Yes Angela it is marine park. And I see it came out name instead of ma’am. Sorry,I should have proof read it. I need a secretary.

    • Paul. I didn’t even notice that! I thought you left it out altogether. LOL…I was just breaking your shoes. I love that “Ma’am” thing! I go on YouTube and laugh at those old Joe Friday clips…He was so stiff!
So, Marine Park….? Man, if those trees could talk!!! 😂😂😂
      Brooklyn, I’ll help you out anytime…Take a look…I fixed it for you…Deny everything…! 😉

  10. Of God you have me laughing. I do see you fixed my error. Bless you kind lady. I use to race in the park with my oldest child there a lot. We would race and he would be way back and the at the 3/4 mile pass me at the end. I thought I was fairly quick but he beat me most of the time. Always wondered if he let me win every so often.

    • I’m glad I could give you a laugh…You always do so for me…Nice to have certain memories of places, right? I’d tell you mine…but this may not be the place for it…Suffice to say mine DIDN’T involve running…😂 Pleasant dreams, Brooklyn! 🙋🏻
