THE POETRY COMPETITION FEATURED:
SSESVRSERVUERVESSE – – – VERSES VERSUS VERSES
Good Morning, Everyone! 📚 ADVERSE….VERSE? To ‘V’ or not To ‘V’? 📚
🎶POETRY in motion, see her gentle sway, A wave out on the ocean, could never move that way…🎶
- 📚📚 I can’t imagine being in a deadlock match like this
And having such resentment towards a fellow poetress.
While competition’s healthy, and winning’s everyones goal
I don’t think such an AVENUE is where I’d play a role.
Something unSAVORY’s going on, and I’m surprised to see
That even though the crowds upset, that’s one happy emcee.
His being in the DRIVERs seat, you’d think he’d want to try
To keep contestants friendly, and seeing eye to eye…
I’ve been in competitions, and the SYSTEM didn’t go
At all like this, where entrants look like they could come to blows…
I’ve written poems for children, SESAME Street’s a favorite theme..
I’ve written blue material, a voyeurs perfect dream.
I’ve written about SUMMER days and winters cold as ice…
But when reading work in public? I’ve always acted nice.
So I just can’t imagine this, I mean what could be worse…?
To make these women fight like this…It must be quite a purse! 📚📚
Sunday words. 6 and 6. With anagrams to CHALLENGE the best of us.
We’re not seeing anything new, but we are seeing some serious WORD PLAY today. And we have enough Vs and Ss to choke a VERSE! Ok, our cartoon. Jeff puts us at a poetry competition, TITLED “Poetry Slam Championship”. With the key word being SLAM! The two female contestants are going at it TATE and NEELE! The audience appears stunned! There’s WYLIEing and NASHing of teeth! Over Poetry? Such adVERSEity? I just don’t get it…I mean, let’s be BLUNT. If they’ve done their best, just get out there and REED. It’s not like they’re going out there BLIND, you know? No need to get so WILDE over it, right? But these two are at each other’s THOREAUts! Anyway, the dialogue shows us them trying to UPDIKE, I mean upstage each other, in VERSE, no less. And the whole time the emcee is smiling. Doesn’t he notice the competition is CUMMINGS apart at the seams? Doesn’t he see that this has turned into a fight? Poet against Poet…“VERSES VERSUS VERSES”? HA! How’s that for a pun? Very well WRITTEN, Dave. Another WINNER! Ok, eye candy. I have to go with the emcees’ grin…I just can’t COTTON to it!!
So, there you have it folks, DUNN!
Have a great day, Everyone!….And METAPHORS be with you! 📚🙋🏻
