OGATEU – OUTAGE
SGIRNP – SPRING
PETYUD – DEPUTY
FATOLA – AFLOAT
FAACED – FACADE
FURIAN – UNFAIR
CARTOON ANSWER:
WITH THE AUDIENCE IN A CIRCLE, THE PERFORMER RECEIVED A – – –
OUSPEPULOAFADNR – ROUND OF APPLAUSE
Good Morning, Everyone! 👏🏻 APPLAUSE! APPLAUSE! 👏🏻
🎸 By looking at today’s cartoon, it’s very plain to see
That theater in the round offers such opportunity
For fans to get up close and hear performers they hold dear
And we can tell Jeff and Kathy are happy to be there.
I’m looking for Eye Candy that I mention everyday
There’s not much going on here, the cartoons mostly gray…
This audience got music, they had a real great time
We have our words, the puzzles done..and here’s your morning rhyme! 🎸
Have a great day, Everyone! 🎶”Listen to the Music…”🎶 🎸🙋🏻

GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE
PLEASE NOTE: THE EMAIL WENT OUT WITH AN ERROR IN THE LETTERS. THE CORRECT ONES ARE ABOVE….🙋🏻
The DEPUTY mayor had to SPRING into action to keep his Central Business District AFLOAT when the power OUTAGE darkened the casino’s FACADE and gave other cities an UNFAIR advantage.
The first and last words gave me grief and then I realized that those dratted compound words or words with a prefix always tend to slow me down. I had the solution to the puzzle before I finally got OUTAGE and UNFAIR. You’d think that by now I would look at all those vowels and figure it out. But no, I want to be able to just glance at the letters and EUREKA have the word in my head. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always work that way. And as they say, “You can’t teach an old dog/man, new tricks.”
And now I’ll try to enjoy this October Sunday
And hope to have a somewhat fun day
The morning promises sun and warm air
But a cold front later will cause despair
So off to the canal trail path I shall go
And watch the gulls and calms water flow.
Good morning, Earl. Those compound words can be TRICKY! And your poem is MUSIC to my ears…
Your sentence once again today, creative as always
You manage to take simple words and magic you display
The weather here’s not promising, it’s rainy, there’s no sun…
Don’t stay too long, and rest assured, we’ll be here when you’re done! 🎸🙋🏻
Earl, a spectacular sentence today! 👍
🎵”Seabird, I have seen you fly above the pilings.
Fold your wings now, I have got some dreams to share…”🎵
Good morning all,
Fun poem, Angela. Luckily, I did what Mike suggested and examined the cartoon carefully first, which gave me the answer and made the words much easier to solve. I still needed paper to jumble unfair.
Sending best wishes for an easy recovery to Lelia and Jerry.
Good morning, Caroline, and thank you. Jeff’s cartoons are always chock full of hints to the solution. “Beauty in the eye of the beholder”! Ditto on your sentiment to Lelia and Jerry.
Enjoy your day! 🎸🙋🏻
Carolyn, I did a quick back-check of the comments and found the sweet answer you gave to me for thanking you for your wonderful compliment to me. So thank you for thanking me for thanking you for a compliment that touched my heart.
Thank you for your kind words of best wishes for an easy recovery to Jerry and me!
Lelia, I’m glad we’re all caught up now with our thank yous!
CHEERS for this easy one for a Sunday. Have a great day.
Good Morning, Moose. Good one! The morning after, huh? 😕
Left you a msg on IOW…🎸🙋🏻
Good morning. Words 2,4 and 6 were instant reads. Words 5 and 3 came next. They took about ten minutes to get. Now just #1 was left. A third look left me to try the cartoon answer. A no brainer. Didn’t even blink before I had the answer. Knowing the two letters I needed I was almost outraged that I was stuck on the word. All and all another great day. Not so much for the Yankees or the weather right now. Until tomorrow stay well. Oh, great sentence you should run for office. You keep us on our seats waiting for the next post. Only difference is you deliver where most Politicians do not.Thinking of our lustrous Mayor.
Good morning, Paul. Good solve. And I agree, Earl would make a fine mayor! We sure could use a change. Have a great day, 🎸🙋🏻
Angela. The Yankees and the Astros remind me of David and Golaith. Right now the little guy is doing it all. If Judge wasn’t such a likeable guy,it would be a no-brainer routing for Altuve.
Hey Paul. For the record, I’m in denial. And I light a lot of candles….😉🙋🏻
Paul, You may enjoy this.

Fun puzzle today. I got the cartoon answer first and worked backwards. For some reason I always stumble at outage a word we have seen many times. Gorgeous day in the city today warm and sunny. Happy Sunday everyone.
Hi Betty. I think today we all had an instant solve looking at the cartoon. The boys made it easy for us!
Dave may repeat words, but I think his anagrams improve each time! Hope your cousins are well.
Take care and enjoy your day! 🎸🙋🏻
Hi all – OUTAGE took the longest, instant solve on the answer. A ROUND of applause, and a round of refreshment supplied by the Brothers in Angela’s song!
🎵”Let’s have another round for these freaks and these soldiers,
A round for these friends of mine.
Let’s have another round for the bright red devil
Who keeps me in this tourist town”🎵
Come on down to The Mermaid Cafe, have fun tonight!
Hey Steve: 🎶Doobie, Doobie, Doo….🎶 🙋🏻
You forgot to bow your head! Sacrilege! 😂🙋🏻♂️
Some of us never went to sleep. One may bow their head and not regain consciousness. Just Sayin’
No mas…🙋🏻
Lelia, your hockey report – Toronto defeats the Canadiens at Montreal in overtime, Marleau scores a goal, Arizona boy Auston Matthews scores 2 including the game winner.
Best wishes for you and Jerry. Take care of yourself, ask for help if you need it, talk to us when you can.
Hi, Steve! Thank you for my ice hockey report! Such good news! Way to go to your Marleau, and congrats to my boy Auston! We are doing great!
Today I am cooking the “guy food” special requests. The steak soup is on with filet mignon in it, next I’ll cook sausage for biscuits & sausage gravy, and last 2 lbs of ground beef to season for tacos, tostadas, or Sloppy Joes.
Thank you for your best wishes for us and the 3 wise comments of advice for me!!!
Hey Harry (and Angela), I bet you know this! I came across a quiz question in a golf story:
“What is the missing word in the list of golf terms?
ace, XXXX, eagle, birdie, par, bogey, double bogey”
My *extremely* rare clue: He probably played that hole using a Fleet wood, Mac!”
Today’s not-so-classic song playing at the Smart&Final this morning:
“Don’t Pull Your Love Out on Me, Baby”.
(“If you do, then I think that maybe I’ll just lay me down, cry for a thousand years”).
The surreal life continues. (Maybe I should’ve bought a surrealistic pillow there.)
Perhaps more apropos..🎶Don’t pull a can out on me baby…If you do then I think that maybe, I’ll just lay me down..” Clean up , in aisle 10 🎸🙋🏻
Not to pile on the Yanks here, but I must note that our boy Josh Reddick did his ex-team proud, channeling his inner Athletic, shades of Reggie to Dick Green to Sal Bando to nail Bill Buckner at third in game 5 of the 1974 Series! Too bad for NY, but that’s just good baseball.
Hey Mike, the rare baseball/comics convergence; Reddick got the nickname Spider-Man for his catches in Oakland, and I found a picture of him wearing the T-shirt while meeting Stan Lee!
http://tinyurl.com/REDDICKSPIDEY
Yanks should have bought Sandoval to hit a couple of homers off Verlander à la 2012!
I read that there are so many recent ex-A’s that at least one is guaranteed a World Series ring this year. It’s the opposite of the ex-Cub factor of recent years.
Two-fer Day at Peets? 🙋🏻
HI, all! Glanced at the picture, read the dialog & got a big grin on my face because of his saying they were too “kind” which is one of my favorite words that Mike uses and hope he keeps on using, solved the cartoon immediately, and hardest word for me was AFLOAT.
Thank you all, for your best wishes for Jerry & me. You are so “kind” to us!
Angela, thanking you here rather than in a mix-up above with Carolyn’s. LOL
Lelia, Good luck, be well.
