OWL kidding aside, I think you either “know” today’s answer phrase or you don’t. I’m only saying this because a few years back, saying this to one of my nephews, he cracked up with laughter. “In cahoots? What the he– is in cahoots”? And you know, for a second there I wasn’t sure myself! It just came FLYING out of my mouth…”You and your brother are in cahoots with this aren’t you”? So I called him this morning at 6AM, and asked him if he remembered. Three things: 1- He did. 2- He’s used it since then. 3- Most people reacted like he first did. (Well 4 actually, but….! Enough said)! Let’s get to our words…I feel confident in TALON YOUTH that we’ve seen these words before. Easy, breezy, done in one fell SWOOP. On to our cartoon: Two devious OWLS, planning to scare a squirrel. What are they figuring? Yelling “BEAK a BOO? Is this what OWLS do? Sit in TREES and wait for the NEST victim, plotting FOWL play? But aren’t OWLS nocturnal, and squirrels diurnal? Is this normal, or just a one-NIGHT STRAND? Some FLIGHT of fancy on Jeff’s part? And look at the grin on that squirrels face, NUThings fazing him! All bright-eyed and BUSHY TAILED! He’s has no clue…Wait a minute, WAIT -A- MINUTE….Are they going to eat him? BeCLAWS if they are…Oh, this is just NUTS! That poor squirrel. Look, I’m no fan of squirrels, going around CHOPPYing from tree to tree. But I don’t want to see these TU-LIP him apart, LIMB from LIMB! HOO’s idea was this? Jeff? Dave? Are you guys “IN CAHOOTS” with this?…BABOOM! The solve, Folks! OWL rest my case…
