CARTOON ANSWER:     WITH SUCH A BIG LEAD GOING INTO THE FINAL LAP AT THE  INDY 500, HE WAS….

OTKIIARNOTWTCN = ON TRACK TO WIN IT

Mike, This one’s for you! 🏁 🥛

🏎🏁 Good morning. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN START YOUR ENGINES… 🏁🏎

Welcome to the Jumble coverage of the Indy 500! We got what we were waiting for, a true ‘Day-themed’ puzzle! Today, we bring the Indy into its 2nd Century, with the 101st running of this iconic race.  200 laps, 500 miles, “Kiss The Bricks”, “Drink The Milk”, we got it all! You already saw all the answers, so let’s take a moment, and talk about the race. Me first.  This pretty much sums up what I know about the Indy:  HELIO CASTRONEVES! HE-LI-O.  Ok, that’s all I got!  LOL. No, seriously, talk about “Start your Engines”, “Kiss the Bricks”, “Happy Hour”, and “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing”…. HELIO! (Listen, y’day we gave Mike his comic books, today I’m taking my HELIO)!   Hopefully today, he’ll win it for the 4th time. Ok, enough, your turn. Scott Dixon’s in pole position, the winner gets the Borg-Warner Trophy, and it might rain in Indiana. (Feel free to add any other personal Indy thoughts in your post)!  LOL…Oh yes, the puzzle…I found the compilation of today’s words a RUNaWAY hit! The scrambles were fantastic! UNFAIR was a little hard to look at, am I right? Same with ENOUGH? But everyday words, easy ENOUGH!  The solve.  A little bit of a “Hmm” here. I think we all look for “the” or “and” when we see that 3 letter box. HA! Not today. The key to today’s solve was the cartoon pic. The track. Knowing we had the  necessary letters, after filling in the only 5 letter word, the rest was a WIN. “No one going to catch him”…”He’s the champ” = the winner. And now, the cartoon itself. Jeff, once again, Kudos! So much detail! The Scoring Pylon, is filled with the teeniest tiniest numbers. How does he do it? (I can’t help thinking he’d be great at applying mascara)!  LOL. The blimp! “PLAY JUMBLE”, emblazoned on the peach colored aerial advertising on the banner towing plane! The tiny multi colored cars!…The woman…The woman, (daily Jumblists, can you guess)?!! LOL… So, I should wrap this up, huh? Talk about MOTOR mouth! Just one more thing, if I may?  …19th pole position, Car 3, Team Penske. HELIO.  Can’t you just see that face framed in the Winner’s Wreath! (Sorry, I’m just so DRIVEN to disTRACTION)!

Wishing us all a great Sunday, INDYed! ..See you at the finish line! 🏁🏆  🥛🙋🏻

  1. Great puzzle today. Was stuck for awhile on enough. The only word that gave me trouble. Even the cartoon answer was easy. All in all it took maybe 15 minutes to solve. Would have liked to see it on the computer to see what I’m missing. Even with the magnifying glass I’m missing a lot. Till tomorrow stay well.

    • Hi Angela – The picture showed up as a separate post as if it were tomorrow’s entry, instead of being inline with today’s. It might throw someone off if they go to the main site https://jumbleanswer.wordpress.com/
and the first thing they see is only a picture, and don’t know to scroll down to the next entry (today’s) and hit ‘comments’.

Speaking of the Indy, quickly, don your flame-proof suit! I still remember some of the snarky replies you got when you posted some pictures of the periodic table separately, the only time I’ve ever seen less-than-courteous posts here.

      • Lefty, Maybe I should start calling you RIGHTY! LOL (My friends call me Lefty, so you know it’s not an insult)! ! I played around with it a little, and saw that also. Kind of toggling back and forth. Foiled again, I thought I had it this time! LOL Yep, I got trashed. And it was all by women! So much for the Sisterhood! Oh God I hope we don’t have a reoccurrence. You know, the expression: Fool me once, shame on me…Mess with me twice, you’re treading on thin ice! That’s how it goes, right? LOL. …UH, How’d you know I have a flame-proof suit?? 😂 🏁 🙋🏻

      • I glad to hear you can run!!! I’m taking a break here also.
Mets on national TV tonight, but right during my dinnertime. Later.

      • HA…NO, Not running per se. I believe I said..”I’m on the run…” Brooklyn for “I’m out, I’m about…I’m a bag of chhips and all that….”. So, my ❤️ Helio ran second. I’m crushed. Such heart, such stamina, such drive. And second. Soooo close. That’s all I heard all day…” So close..” I made all 3 BBQ’s. And there was at least one at each that felt this great desire to tell me…”Tough break, so close…” …You know because maybe I didn’t realize it..! JEEZ! 🎶”So far away, doesn’t anybody stay in one place anymore…”🎶 Sad about the accident, tho. How cool was it that Jeff’s going to look into that Purple Plague? 🎶”You say you want a Revolution, Well, you know, we all want to change the world”🎶…🙋🏻

      • I knew, just glad you could get out! I got all the references – very cool about Jeff. Will we see a devil in a blue dress? Please *do* wear red tonight? Stay tuned!

      • Yea. Was good to get out. Devil in a blue dress would be great. 🎶” This is what I said tonight For Red is the color that will make me blue,…In spite of you, it’s true”🎶. Great song! 💃🏻

      • That and “Rain”, absolutely great songs unreleased on any of the original albums. Ringo said of his drumming something like, I did these songs like this, and these other songs like that and I understand what I did, and then there’s “Rain”.

        Liked by 1 person

      • So much good music ..I didn’t like Rain at first, kind of like a throw away song. But there’s very little of their work that I don’t like today. Mets in the 9th…it’s become a challenge! Ahead 7-2. Pitching getting a little too erratic.

      • Steve. You hear about the catfish thing with Pittsburgh? They’re so against any of that nonsense going on at Paints Arena, that a major local fish store intends to ask for ID if anyone comes in asking for catfish. If they’ve come from Tennessee, they’re denying them the purchase! WTF? ROTFL. Drivers Licenses for Catfish? Birth certificates for Bass…Tax Return for Tuna?!! Gotta love the determination!

      • LOL! So *that’s* what that fish was doing on the ice the other night! Hadn’t heard any of that.
PPG Paint Arena? Lame name in the name game.

      • Yep. Lame. Freaking catfish. Jeez. They do it for luck. Too gross for me. Copied Detroit throwing octopus. Gimme a break. I so can’t do catfish.

      • It’s all so foolish. Sharks! LOL…2nd BBQ I was at, bunch of people watching Jaws. I never saw it all through. Still fine with me. Steve, I looked for that quiz today and it’s still the same as y’day. Does it print on Sunday’s?

      • No, quiz has 9 questions on Mon-Fri, and 15 on Sat., no Sun.

When Joe Thornton was traded from Boston to the Sharks, he went in to tell his father, who was watching — Jaws!.

  2. Hi, all. An unusual easy Sunday puzzle for me – separating the UN made UNFAIR easy, always look for words like TOUGH, ROUGH, etc. when there’s a UGH (“Ain’t that tough ENOUGH?”).

    Once heard a baseball announcer describe a pitcher’s day as “a seven-inning outing”. 🙂

      • I actually sat at a table with a gentleman who’s company colors all the comics last night. I asked him to have the person who colors the Jumble to contact me. Hopefully, I can suggest a few more colors in their pallet in the future.

  3. Hi, Mike et al!! Loved having an Indy 500 puzzle on the actual day of the race. What fun! Enjoyed your write-up, as usual, Angela. On the site I use, your enlarged picture, answers, & blog were in that order altogether. No problem. I was glad the clue words & cartoon question were easy for me because I wanted to stay in bed all day, except for doing the puzzle & eating, to catch up on some much needed rest. As I dozed off each time, I was thinking about a smiling 9-yr-old boy holding up his prize-winning poster while his proud dad worked at taking the perfect picture.
Hope everyone had a great day! See you tomorrow.

    • Hello Lelia!
Nice to hear from you. I think Mike, Angela and everyone else is at Memorial Day BBQ’s, so I will act as the #JUMBLEANSWERS greeter. Greetings! I’m sure they’ll be here later. Get some rest!
(Isn’t Memorial Day tomorrow?) See you then.

    • Hi Lelia! I took so many photos of my son in the parade today, not even one angry look was sent my way and here’s why. By a miracle, the parade stopped in front of where I was waiting and I had the opportunity to take as many pictures as I wanted. The legion gave him a “crown” and he sure acted out the part! He was so proud of himself, and the memory will live on in my heart forever. You being a teacher can understand how children grow through the school year, and his understanding of Memorial Day blossomed this afternoon. I’m so proud of him and words can’t describe the feeling I experienced. Happy Memorial Day, and I hope you passed along my thanks to all of the servicemen in your family. I also said a prayer for Jerry today during the moment of prayer for all armed service veterans, and I wished him a speedy recovery. Be well and talk soon! 😊
