CATLH = LATCH

RILEN = LINER

SOMTAC = MASCOT

LAGEEL = ALLEGE

CARTOON ANSWER:

HE ERASED THE FORMULA FROM THE CHALKBOARD TO START OVER WITH A —

LCLNASTAEE = CLEAN SLATE

I’ll have to take a closer look at that chalkboard when the cartoon is published online to see if there were any hidden easter eggs on there.  Enjoy your Saturday!

  1. Got CLEAN from just looking at picture…Could not get CWs 3 and 4…had to go to Jumble solver on line…..Wasn’t someone talking about a gaggle the other day?

  2. Good morning. I got stuck on mascot and solved the cartoon answer immediately. Now knowing the letters I needed it still took me five minutes to get. The guy is erasing the formula on the chalk board. Did anybody notice that yesterday’s puzzle had five letters for all the words. A nice change. Till tomorrow stay well

  3. Hi Angela! I trust that you found a wonderful pub to enjoy your St. Patrick’s Day meal. ALLEGE gave me trouble because I found legal within it and couldn’t get it out of my head. I hope you have a wonderful Saturday. 😊

    • Hi Mike. Never got the corned beef and cabbage! We tried 3 different places-lines out the door! Ah, c’est la vie….oh, wrong part of Europe! I’m a Mets fan, so we’re used to saying, “Wait’ll next year”anyway! No Easter eggs on that chalkboard, just equations. A tad too early, no? Happy Saturday to you and yours. πŸ™‹πŸ»

      • I’m sorry you never got any CB&C yesterday. I think I’ll try putting mine in a crockpot next year as it didn’t come out tender enough on the stovetop. Just a lazy Saturday afternoon here watching the Sox play the Twins in sunny Florida. We’re going out for to dinner tonight and I’m craving Fondue. πŸ§€

  4. Hi! Had cartoon answer as I read it, but spent time on MASCOT, ALLEGE, & LATCH. Loved the cartoon. Wonder how many times “Al” erased his Theory of Relativity before he got it right.
    Tomorrow 8 of us at our favorite Mexican food restaurant, will celebrate four March birthdays: My husband turns 80 in a few days, two granddaughters, oldest granddaughter’s boyfriend, and Abudul, a little boy who lives in Bangladesh, whom I sponsor through World Vision, turned 14 years old last week.
    See you tomorrow!

    • That’s a lot of celebrating, Lelia! It’s a lazy day here, and we might catch a movie before dinner this evening. I want fondue but unfortunately I’m in the minority. Italian might win and I wouldn’t mind if it makes them happy. I thought of you last night while watching LivePD on A&E. It’s a show that follows law enforcement from call to call in 6 different locations — one of which is Arizona. It’s all live and can get crazy at times. It’s my new favorite show. Be well! 😊

  5. Hi,
    Oops, I got interrupted. You mentioned looking at the cartoon online. Can you tell me where you find it online? It used to be on the Houston Chronicle site but they stopped publishing it a couple of weeks ago and I haven’t been able to find it. I do still get the newspaper delivered to my home but I have a friend in a nursing home who likes to do the jumble. I’ve been taking a photo of it and texting it too him but it would be easier if I could let him know where it find it online. Thanks for any help you can give me.

    • Hi Mary! I was using the Houston Chronicle link for quite awhile as well but switched to the Post Star. Here’s the link:

      http://poststar.com/entertainment/puzzles-and-comics/

      Simply click on Jumble and you’ll be all set. Have a great rest of your weekend. πŸ˜€

      I forgot to mention that for the past few weeks the Sunday game that they post has been incorrect. In other words it’s an older Sunday puzzle and not the same as the one everyone else gets in their newspaper. The Monday-Saturday puzzles are always correct. Enjoy!

  6. Is it possible for me to receive the daily jumble through email too? I cannot locate the website where I can play the game before I receive the answer to the puzzle.
