Somehow mistaken jumped right out at me which led quickly to the solution,
Hi Chuck. Good to see you again. Great job! You may be one of a select few who saw “mistaken” immediately. If I’m not MISTAKEN, only one other reader, Harry, also did so. The puzzle challenged quite a few people. I’m thinking maybe the phrase “sorely mistaken” may not be a familiar one with most of our readers, because there were quite a few people “looking in” today.
Sorry for the long delay in replying…it’s Christmas crunch time here in NY…
Have a wonderful Holiday, Sir! Hope to see you t’row..( Actually later today)! π π»ππ»
πΆMATCHmaker, MATCHmaker, make me a MATCH…Find me a find, catch me a catch…MATCHmaker, MATCHmaker, Look through your book…And make me a perfect MATCH…πΆ
1οΈβ£2οΈβ£3οΈβ£ I never quite could understand the thrill and the allure
Of watching grown men slam themselves around a wrestling floor
The moves so carefully choreographed, the bodies so AGILE
The lifts, the turns, the flying leaps all carried off with style.
With names like STORMY Warrior in masks and capes and tights
They really are quite NERVY since not all the bods are light…
You wonder do they see themselves because to be quite frank
You look at most of these big guys and think the outfits SHRANK!
And then there’s those who’ll dress as mimes looking beyond belief
You have to shake your head at this show of comic relief
And when the moves don’t go as planned, and hurt makes these guys waken
They end up shocked, and can’t believe that they’re SORELY MISTAKEN! 1οΈβ£2οΈβ£3οΈβ£
Great words, cute puzzle, just not my entertainment of choice. But for all the Wrestling aficionados out there, this ones for you! Eye candy? The lipstick colors on AMAZON MIME…and his Corner Man. They MATCH!
So, There you have it Folks! Done.
Have a great day, Everyone! Don’t let ’em get you on the ROPES..ππ»
Good morning, CW’s were easy, but over matched on annswer.
Good Morning, Big Guy! Couldn’t get a HOLD on it, huh?
Pouring rain here…ππ»
Good morning, Cara Mia. It had a CHOKE HOLD on me. No rain yet, but a couple inches of heavy snow.
LOL…That bad, huh? Well, I’m always in your CORNER if you need any help…
Oh SNOW, really? Stay warm and dry. Ciao, Bello ππ»
Do not think I have ever seen NERVY in print before! Surprised at how easily I solved the puzzle. Mistaken just leaped out at me or should I say leapt?
Good Morning, Harry. We see and hear it a lot in NY. Why just this morning I was told..βNEURON my last NERVE, Angβ! Now thatβs NERVY, no? The way he LEAPT on me like that? π Have a good day, Hoosier Man! ππ»
Although they SHRANK in trepidation at the STORMY water, the couple decided they were NERVY and AGILE enough to take their kayak out on the bay.
Clue words were no problem but I had to write all the circle letters and stare for quite a while before “mistaken” became evident, then the solution was obvious.
Also not a fan of wrestling, Angela, and wonder at its popularity but then a headlock and full-nelson obviously have appeal to some who enjoy body slams.
Weather up here is “frightful”—-rain, rain, rain, which is supposed to turn to heavy snow later. Staying in and watching Netflix.
Have a soggy Saturday those in the Northeast.
Hi Earl. A little daring in your sentence today I see!
Miserable here also. Winter in NY! ‘Gotta love it, right?
I don’t think you’re alone with the solve. Looking at the numbers, it seems quite a lot of people are peeking in for a Saturday, and for 12/23 to boot!
Never, ever saw the allure of wrestling. But I could probably name dozens of them, even from years back, because for some reason all the kids (male) were taken with it at one time or another. And we had enough figures to fill the arena! π And we also had a few head locks and full-nelsons amongst them! “That’s it!!…No more watching wrestling for any of you…”! ππ
Stay warm! It’s a great day for cacooning! Be well. Ciao! ππ»
Hi all – That was MYSORT of Jumble – one that had me stumped for awhile. STORMY took me the longest. I figured the second answer word must be MISTAKEN, but I had to get STORMY before I could see SORELY.
The guy in the back looks like the typical Mexican wrestler, but Iβve never seen a mime in the ring before. If you think these outfits look like they shrank, just be thankful that Jeff didnβt draw sumo wrestlers!
Stay warm, dry and safe, everyone!
(Random thought – if Santa Claus switches from his pipe to the electronic version, is he eschewing tobacco?)
AMAZON MIME? Yea, he’s new ..And he’s not wrestling the Mexican for the BEZOS, he’s doing it for the fame!
With Santa? It just may be the VAPE of things to come!
The Sumo’s….”MY EYES.,.MY EYES,,.”
Enjoy, Grasshopper! ππ»
Lelia – Left a note on IOW.
Good afternoon. Started the puzzle early and had the six letter words first. Was stumped on the cartoon and put it aside hoping my daughterinlaw would see it and finish. But I didn’t leave enough of a hint for her to do it. When I went back to it much later, mistaken appeared first. Tough puzzle but I’m glad I stuck with it.
Hey Paul How’re you doing? That Second Time Around! Glad you got it done!
Be well, my Friend! ππ»
Hi, Santa Mike et al! I solved the 4 words easily but gathered 14 Scrabble tiles for help with the cartoon answer. First I considered words that go with a mime-not- talKing in order to use the βKβ but then I wanted to use the βKβ for his injured Knee.
After swirling my Scrabble tiles in the box lid a few times, MISTAKEN popped out using the βKβ and then the word SORELY that alluded to his sore body.
Because of never watching wrestling, I was puzzled about a wrestler dressing as a mime, but Jerry informed me that he had seen Hispanic wrestlers and others wear all kinds of creative and interesting outfits.
Hi Lelia. The solve was a bit tricKy today, but it was a cute one.
Have a great night! ππ»
This jumble was challenging and I finally had to look here for the answer. I didn’t get agile nor the answer. I thought the mime would somehow be in the answer. I couldn’t figure out what the announcer was holding in his hand….ugh!
Hi Carol. It was a bit of a challenge today, which is good once in a while, don’t you think? The man you’re referring to as an announcer, is in reality the Mime’s “Cornerman”. He’s usually a coach or a trainer who assists during a match. He’s holding an ice pack in his hand. I could see where you’d be looking for the mime to be featured in the answer, since Jeff drew him so prominently in the cartoon. All in all, it was a great puzzle!
Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful Holiday! π π»ππ»
