Jumble Answers for 09/07/2017

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday!  All of the clue words were quick solves with no hesitation whatsoever.  ELEVEN would be my pick for the most difficult word choice followed by ELECT.  Moving forward to the cartoon, we are in a leasing office at Sunny Day Apartments where a woman can be seen signing a document finalizing her decision to rent a unit.  She seems upbeat and positive which is the mindset she’ll need as she makes a fresh start during this new chapter in her life.  The cartoon was a quick solve as well and I was able to complete it just by reading the dialogue and sentence.  Have a wonderful Thursday and I’ll see you tomorrow!  ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Of the ELEVEN contestants in the WALTZ competition, “Sunny” and her partner ELECTed to FINISH tenth and hoped to see the flaws of the others.
Agree that the puzzle proved to be no challenge today and I am grateful for that. Waiting for Angela and others to,post for further comments. Have a great day all.๐ŸŒด ๐ŸŒป ๐Ÿ•ต๐Ÿฝ

    • Earl: .As long as she doesn’t DWELL on the past, and refuses to LET people tell her how to LIVE her life, and sticks to her TENETS, she’ll do fine. The Holidays are coming, she’ll be SETTLED, and she can sing…FOR LEASE Navidad! ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  2. Good morning. Now thursday is becoming the Monday theme. The entire puzzle was an instant read. In writing the letters down for the cartoon the answer popped into my head. It was easier than yesterday. Hey, maybe I’m getting smarter in my old age. No,don’t think it’s that. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Good morning, Paul. I had similar thoughts about the simplicity of the puzzle. Our complacency just might bite us tomorrow! Until then, enjoy your day and I’m glad you had a wonderful and safe trip to Atlantic City. ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

      • Thank you very much. It was the first time in years that I went there. Already gave my ok for next month. We went to Resorts. It looked like the geriatric center They mostly play the slot machines and the penny ones at that. Hardly anybody was throwing the bones. One table at the most was going at one time with only six playing. When I returned there was only two playing so I stayed away. Got to have that mojo feeling.

      • I’m happy you had a wonderful time, Paul! I’m not much of a gambler, and haven’t been to a casino in many years. When I went, I played slots and some blackjack. I’ve been to Vegas a couple of times and enjoyed the sights and shows more than the gaming. I’m glad you’re already planning a return trip! ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

  4. Hi all – Hey, even the worst of times can become the best of times.

๐ŸŽต”I can see clearly now, the pain is gone…
Gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day”๐ŸŽต
    at the “Sunny Day Apartments”.

I’m glad ELECT took me the most time, or I would have had to confess that ELEVEN was a challenge. My tongue-in-cheek excuse – “That’s not math, that’s arithmetic.”

  5. Hi, all! I agree with you, Mike, that the dialog & sentence in a leasing office surely made the answer easy. Three words came immediately for me; self-jumbled ELECT four times, which isnโ€™t enough work to complain about.

My mother, sister, and both of our daughters have experienced new leases on life due to divorce. My dad remarried right away but she died. He married her best friend and she died. He married her best friend and she lived long after he died.

Once when I was feeling anxious & not too happy, Jerry felt like it might be his fault so quietly said, โ€œMaybe we need a divorce.โ€ I replied, โ€œWell this is surely a stupid time to bring that up when I am not feeling well so you can just can that idea until I get to feeling better and weโ€™ll talk about it then!!!โ€ It never came up again.

    • Lelia, I’ve said something like this before, but, you may like my puns, but I admire your fearlessness in sharing the details of your life stories with us. Especially today with the Jumble, it really helps us realize that what seem like bad times can and do often work out for the best. And I must say, your father seems like an absolutely amazing example of persistence! Or is it that some of us guys *never* learn? ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • Steve, thanks for admiring my sharing and saying that โ€œit really helps.โ€ I love being helpful. Those who spend $4 to read my book online, 14 stories about me, get more of the same thing. I just share my life, mistakes & all, and include stuff Iโ€™ve learned along the way.

Earlier I listed our pets for poor Mike who had the misfortune of innocently asking me if I had any pets. You saw the long list, Iโ€™m sure. In my book is a story about one of our cockatiels getting stolen but it has a good ending.

All guys are different, and my dad was what they call “the marrying kind.” He loved being married.

  6. Hi, Steve! Dagwood & Blondie today were Jerry & me. First football kickoff of the season so she kisses him good-by until after the Super Bowl. Dagwoodโ€™s first word was what I consider to be your word, โ€œYup.โ€

Steve, first you came up with the brilliant book & author pun and then the genius sew-sew one about a character in the book whose knitting contained her death wish list!

I have thought of only one good pun all year.

I love my PUNetic license, but what I really need are 3 very potent vitamins (vitamin P, vitamin U, and vitamin N) to help me think up some puns along with greatly enjoying yours.

  7. Hi, Mike! Enjoyed your comments to me yesterday. Thank you. You asked me if we have any pets. My answer is โ€œnoโ€ because we have had so many, which I took care of with very little help from the other 3 members of our family, which is normal.

We had 2 Brittany Spaniels: Jennifer (orange & white) and her son Benjamin (liver & white). Jennifer had 12 puppies that I sold at 6 weeks and cried as each one sold. When Jen & Ben died of old age, it was like losing a family member.

We had 6 indoor cats, 2 outdoor, and 9 kittens that I gave away at 6 weeks.

Outside: 3 rabbits, a turtle named Pixie, and 2 cockatiels in a walk-in cage.

Indoors in 5 terrariums: 1 snake, 1 salamander Samantha, hermit crabs, beautiful green anole lizards, & one cricket that drank water from a wet cotton ball.

Indoors in various freshwater aquariums: many beautiful fish including angel fish, orange ones with black tails, colorful neon tetras, black mollies, & bottom feeders.

Indoors in 2 saltwater aquariums: l. Clown Fish. 2. Found in pools of water on beach in Mexico tiny (1/4 inch) crab, octopus, & anemones that ate shark meat. Oh, and one ghost shrimp.

Indoors in a gerbil cage: 2 gerbils that had babies.

If Jerry and I start thinking about getting a dog, we visit Joyce where we get licked & mauled by 2 sweetheart labs. At Dianeโ€™s we encounter cats, cat hair, litter boxes, and a large cage in the living room where the cockatiel whistles the theme song from the Andy Griffith show.

    • That is one heck of a pets list, Lelia! My oldest dog will be 15 on Halloween night next month. I joke that he’s my Hallow-weenie (weiner dog/dachshund). We’re so attached and he follows me everywhere without running off. He’s full of life as well as trim and fit so we pray he’ll be around for many many more years. His eyes are getting “foggy” and his hearing isn’t so acute anymore, but other than that he’s one spring chicken!

I was most interested in your saltwater aquariums. I’ve tried my hand twice at a saltwater tank and failed miserably both times. My wife won’t let me try again unless we get a service to maintain it due to it’s complex environment. I’m too proud to have someone else come in and take care of it so I’ll just wait for a chapter in my life where I can devote more time to the hobby. I really do miss the beautiful crystal clear water with bright and colorful ocean life. It really is breathtakingly beautiful.

I wish you and Jerry both a wonderful weekend! ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚
