Good morning everyone and happy Tuesday!  Today’s puzzle had a “little bit of everything” including a couple of challenging clue words and a visually stunning cartoon.  ABATE and ATTEST were the two words to give me pause with the latter taking the most time to decipher.  The 3 T’s made it difficult to find a starting point, but with a few self-jumbles, the answer finally gave itself up.  Moving on to the cartoon, we’re treated to a front row glimpse of a new roundabout opening with a bevy of different characters and scenes to delight just about everyone.  Jeff really put extra effort and detail into this piece with my favorite image being the family of three in the back left corner.  It’s probably because it reminds me of my own family, with my wife carrying a balloon and my son on my shoulders.  If you look closely, you can see the image on the man’s shirt being Captain America’s shield — perfect attire for a parade!  My other favorite bits are the Miss Carmel pageant winner waving to the crowd followed by the Beach Boys striking up their iconic tune.  The answer was an instant solve after reading the sentence which was just fine with me because it gave me more time to admire all of the cartoon detail I missed the first time.  Have a terrific Tuesday and I’ll see you tomorrow!  🙂

C’mon, did you really think I’d go with 🎶”I Get Around”🎶?…Back on 8/14, I used the word “Roundabout” in my post and Earl said I made his day. So when I saw this mornings puzzle, I thought, “This one will DRIVE Earl crazy”! “This one will BRAKE the bank”! So Earl, this one’s for you. Courtesy of the Jumble Guys, of course…but they don’t know you like I do! Today’s words have PASSed THROUGH here before, reTREADS respectfully. And I can’t ATTEST to it, but SPLASH seems so familiar. Our CARtoon gives us CARmel, Indiana: America’s Roundabout Kingdom. I could go aROUND in CIRCLES giving you all the information ABATE CARmel, but it would be EXHAUSTing. And it might not be in everyone’s WHEELhouse. But, if you’d like, and can afFORD the time, the info’s out there. I’ll just say that CARmel’s mayor, Jim Brainard, is definitely MOTORvated! The man’s in conTROLL, and there seems to be no STOPping him! So, the eye candy? We got Miss CARmel. We got that ribbon cutting scissor. We got the requisite blonde in LIGHT purple…There’s the FLAT BED, that I’m too TIREd to pursue. And the race car, and the clown…And the T-shirt with Captain America’s CIRCLED shield. I could DRIVE myself crazy! Bottom line, I’d WRECKamend any of them. But they all take a BACK SEAT to Mike Love and that walker! A walker! Jeff, drop the Mic, I just can’t 🎶Get Around🎶 that! 🎶Kokomo🎶! Way to go! Do you think he feels the 🎶Good Vibrations🎶 FLOWing through it?
    Well, that’s it. I’m 🎶WIPEd OUT🎶…I wish Everyone a great day. And I’m praying 🙏🏻 with all my heart that the Gods smile on Texas…

  3. The “three bully goats gruff” can ATTEST to the noisy SPLASH the TROLL made when his threats did not ABATE and he was butted into the stream.
    Another day with no pen needed, perhaps because I knew the solution to the puzzle before I had all the clue words. Almost goofed on ATTEST– thought it was ESTATE until I realized there was only one E.

  4. Good morning. Great to have you back Mike. Hope you had a great vacation. As usual you left it in great hands. Wish I could see as much as you do with the picture. You get so much more out of it. Today’s puzzle was an instant read on both ends. I should have timed myself because I don’t think it took even two minutes to solve. Never even had to put the letters down to get the solution. This should have been Monday’s puzzle. Until tomorrow stay well.

  7. Hi all – SPLASH was the only pause here.
    Ah, YES. The lyrics from “Roundabout” come round about again, but always welcome, as far as I’m concerned.
    He may have hired some version of the Beach Boys, but as I’ve cautioned Lelia, these dinosaur acts often have few, one, or even none of the original members. And speaking of YES, I just read there are *two* versions touring currently, one with two original members and the other with one. So, no wonder the “Beach Boys” were available to open a roundabout. After they finish “I Get Around”, I’d like to see them do “Fun, Fun, Fun”, and watch the girl in her daddy’s T-bird come barreling into that roundabout. Talk about a “splatter platter!”

    (I also just read that there’s a Tom Petty tribute band called “Petty Theft.” GREAT name!)

    Mike, great to have you back & enjoyed your comments to me yesterday. I agree that the cartoon contains a plethora of Fun Finds today, including the clown.
    Younger daughter loved clowns; wanted to become one some day. Her first daughter was frightened to death of them so grandma to the rescue! I grabbed her up & headed for the door when one appeared, usually in a restaurant.
    Older daughter coming today for lunch & games so I had better get ready!

  9. The round a bout is referred to as a rotary out east. If you ever get caught on the inside lane you keep going around in a circle. Lol

      • I’ll join the CLUB in pointing out the difference. (Rotary Club? Oh, never mind…😂🙋🏻‍♂️ Maybe Moose will join the Elks (and brake for moose!) )
