🇺🇸 “I SAVED A PLACE FOR YOU HERE…” 💔 🇺🇸
🇺🇸 GOD BLESS AMERICA, LAND THAT I LOVE… 🇺🇸

Couldn’t boxer also be rebox?
Yes, I suppose, but then you’d be given letters O and X, instead of E and R. You wouldn’t be able to arrive at the puzzles solution. 🇺🇸
Good morning. Don’t know if you looked at yesterday’s remarks that I posted this morning that on your second attempt I got the puzzle. Thanks again. It really is s pleasure to see it that way than the paper. Todays whole puzzle was easy as grandmas apple pie except for alpaca that took some time to get. You do not see that word or animal that often. Until tomorrow stay well. Let’s hope the rest of this holiday will be sunshine and roses.
Good morning, Paul. Yes, I did see your post and I replied, but it’s showing on yday’s page. You’re very welcome, and I’m glad you enjoyed seeing it. I agree, alpaca is rare. Be well. 🇺🇸
I’ll “pay my respects” to all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice by staying silent until tomorrow.
🇺🇸💔
Lovely puzzle of tribute.
🇺🇸 “Stand Beside Her and Guide Her Through the Night With a Light from Above”🇺🇸
🇺🇸💔
“In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.”
And..
“Carry on my wayward son,
For there’ll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don’t you cry no more”
🇺🇸💔
Mike, may I suggest this comic to you? It is particularly appropriate given your post yesterday about your son:

Steve, loved the Red & Rover comic for Memorial Day. I’ve never heard of that comic before, but today’s was perfect & so were Flanders’s Field, first written as a poem, & the song Josh sang. Thanks from Jerry & me.
Glad to share that with you. 👍
Thanks to those now serving and to our veterans. “Some Gave All”🌟🌟
🇺🇸💔
At first I thought the answer had something to do with “peace”, but when I reread the clue, I caught the word “compensate” and that’s what gave it to me!
Yes, That was today’s word clue: Compensate=Pay, with the cartoon clue being the bended knee at the gravesite= Respect. 🇺🇸💔
Thank you for today’s puzzle.
🇺🇸💔
Mike, I scarcely know where to begin to thank you for your last two blogs to me because I was so touched by both of them. I was delighted to hear about your preparations for getting your house perfect for Memorial Day, the BBQ, and Jerry’s favorite part/ the fireworks.
Lots of pictures! Hooray! I don’t know who I’m prouder of; you the proud dad or the one enjoying his crown for a day whose poster has inspired all of us to do a better job of remembering and paying our respect. Next year I am going to buy way more poppies.
Jerry & I both shed happy tears when we read that you said a prayer for him during the moment of prayer for vets and wished him well. That was just more sweet, thoughtfulness than our hearts could hold at one time; we overflowed with thanks to you for doing that and appreciate it greatly.
So, thanks to you and the guy in the cartoon today, paying respect. Clue words and cartoon were a quick solve, but the sentiment is huge, meaningful, and appreciated by all veterans & those who have lost loved ones who were serving.
See you tomorrow.
