Good Tuesday morning everyone!  The clue words weren’t all that difficult today with ACTIVE causing me to do a slight double take before it finally came into view.  I was excited that I was able to speed through them because after peeking at the cartoon, I knew we were in for a real treat.  The final solution was a quick solve after writing out all of my clue letters and I solved it in a flash.  You probably know by now that I go bonkers for cartoons with tons of detail and Jumble artist Jeff Knurek really stepped up his game today delivering a top-notch masterpiece!  What puts this over the top for me is the fact that it’s set in the dark of night with a barely visible crescent moon in the background.  The guard’s flaslight directs our attention to the gravestone of “IMA PUNSTER” where a bunch of jumbled words are visible giving us a second jumble puzzle for the day — a jumble within a jumble!!!  Deciphering was a breeze and I’ll enhance the stone for those that weren’t able to see it too well in their newspaper.  I can only assume that Jeff drew the looming figure on top of the stone as a tribute to his friend and Jumble partner David Hoyt.  If you look closely, the imagery of the palm to face of the figure is a feeling we can all relate to when we get stumped from time to time.  Zooming in as close as I possibly could, the newspaper that is in front of the statue says “Jumble” on it.  This was without a doubt the most detailed piece of artwork that Jeff has bestowed upon us.  Take a few moments to take it all in as it’ll be awhile before Jeff can surpass this one!  Enjoy your Tuesday and I’ll see you tomorrow.  😀

  1. Good morning, Mike,good morning, everyone! Ding,ding,ding….The new JUMBLE-AYA!
My new favorite….a graphic delight. Good scramble of words, but BURY, BURY good cartoon. Easy, breezy solve, the answer so obvious, but so INTERtaining. A total LOL drawing. And, IM A PUNSTER’s gravestone? Ingenious. Major kudos to Jeff this MOURNing! (That’s a groan, I know)! The symbol crying, newspaper in hand, I couldn’t help smiling, despite the GRAVE subject matter. So, here’s my contribution…LISA CARR, Auto Saleswoman. PHYLLIS SOPHICAL, College Professor. NICK AUFTIME, PERPETUAL Procrastinator. (Got a double one in there..)! The list is endless! Once again, it’s a beautiful day here in NY, hope everyone has a great day! 🙋🏻

    • It’s my new favorite cartoon as well, Angela! Loved the shadow under the guards foot as well and forgot to mention that detail. P-E-R-F-E-C-T-I-O-N!!!

  2. Good morning. This was another Monday theme. Words were easy and the cartoon answer was an instant solve. Your picture was a lot clearer. Looking at the paper with a Magnifying glass I did not pick up on the jumbled letters on the stone. Thank you for pointing that out. Cute idea. Made me appreciate the drawing that much more. Till tomorrow stay well.

  3. Easy solve as well today had the clue before doing the words. Thanks for the picture as well mine copy was not that clear. Beautiful day enjoy it.

  4. Anne Teak and Claire Buoyant! I am not getting the close up I used to get when I could get it on my phone and magnify it. Never would have seen the jumble on the gravestone.

  5. Just noticed Chicago Tribune let’s you magnify it one time. “She knew she would drown” and “she was very old” Yes, this was the best detailed Jumble I have ever seen. Statues way in back along with a mausoleum.

  6. Fun puzzle this morning. I had the cartoon answer first and worked backwards. My paper is pretty good but sometimes the fine points of the cartoon aren’t really clear. For some reason on Saturdays, the drawing is smaller than on the other days of the week. Guess that’s an editorial decision. We’re still having rain showers in the Bay Area. Hoping for some sunshine soon. Have a good day everyone.
