TGIF my friends! Another fun puzzle except I was shocked to see MODEM as one of the clue words. I reckon some of the younger players may have had some difficulty with that one. Do they even know what those were? My first computer had a 2400 baud modem and that’s how I dialed up to my local BBS (no real internet back then). I upgraged to a 14.4 Kpbs modem and thought that was life changing. 14.4 led to 28.8 and then a 56K! I really miss the sounds of a dial up modem. As a teenager I would dial up late at night and my older brother would bang on my bedroom door and tell me to stop being so loud. I couldn’t help myself as I was a pioneer of the technological revolution! I digress, but it sure was fun remembering the early days of computer connectivity. Good morning. I think today was one of my fastest solves ever! Don’t know if my mind was particularly sharp this morning or if it was just an easy puzzle, but every word, including the answer, came to me almost instantly.
I had to chuckle at your comment about modem being a difficult word for the young people. I grew up in the 50’s so modem, to me, seems like kind of a modern word. Sometimes it seems like about half of our everyday vocabulary did’t exist back then.

This was an easy one today, though I struggled in modem even though I am 55! Had the puzzle answer without the letters again.
I worked backwards from the easy answer. 1st & 2nd words were a process of elimination . Guess my mind was on slow speed.

I’m 18 but able to get modem right almost immediately! Maybe I am not that young hee
