PNAFBALEUPL – UNFLAPPABLE

🌺 HAPPY NATIONAL NEW JERSEY DAY, TO ALL OUR GARDEN STATE FRIENDS! 🌺

Good Morning, Everyone! This one’s for the BIRDS!

🎢”Hey, BIRD DOG get away from my quail, Hey, BIRD DOG you’re on the wrong trail, BIRD DOG you better leave my lovely-dovey alone. Hey BIRD DOG get away from my chick, Hey BIRD DOG you better get away quick, BIRD DOG you better find a chicken little of your own…”🎢. What a week…Seems like it’s just FLYING by, right? Β But, can we ROOST for just a second and tAUK about our puzzles? Fish and birds and dogs and “ducts”! I’ve been FAUNAing over what we’ve seen these last few days! It’s alMOLT like there’s a patTERN here. What’s NEST, guys? How much MOA of this will we see? (Am I OWL by myself with these questions)? FEATHER or not, it’s just that you’ve definitely BEAKed my interNEST, Β and I’m wondering what else you’ll HATCH up for us. I thought maybe you could SHED some light on the suBUDGIEct…

Ok, WREN we look at today’s words, we’re SEEDing nothing new. If I’m not NESTaken, when we had UPHILL not too long ago, it CAWsed some tears in the VALLEY over its spelling – One word or two? And FABLE? I think we did the “el” vs “le” thing. PANDA?…It was a grin and bear it! Β MI,….GRATE words, better scrambles. But the real COO for Dave is the cartoon’s description. I’ll go out on a LIMB and say the wording made it a FLY AWAY solve. The dialogue…”doesn’t bother me”. The sentence..”never got upset”, “always composed”…Showing such calmness in a crisis? “UNFLAPPABLE”! And then the drawing. Here’s where Jeff TWEAKED it just right. It’s that one ANGRY BIRD, so RUFFLEd up and FLAPPING his wings that CLUTCHed it for me. Poor little guy, he can’t THRUSH away fast enough! Good job guys. Another WINGer! You TOUCAN take a bow; such TALONt! Today’s eye candy? I’m CROWing with the BIRD and the shrug. Totally UnPERCHturbed and PECKish! He came to eat, and nothing’s ROBIN him of that! So, that’s TIT! Oh wait…one more thing. That crazy, barking dog? I guess he just can’t take that TWEETING anymore. Let’s face it, Folks, God knows how crazy that TWEETING can get, right?…Let us PREY…
Ok, I’m FLYING the COOP, and bringing it HUM. Wishing us all a RHEA good day! πŸ¦Β πŸ™‹πŸ»

  1. The children in the VALLEY learnt the FABLE about the young PANDA who struggled to climb UPHILL and kept falling backwards.
No problems with anything today–great blue herons Angela, you are certainly swift with the loony puns!

    • Good morning, Earl. Thanks, but I guess not SWIFT enough! Someone was pretentious enough to send out a post with the puzzle answer a little before 9. Impressive? Not so much…Spelling does count! For those who know me, I could have had the puzzle up before 6, but since this is Mike’s blog, and he could never do so, I tried keeping it a little more to his norm. To the true “Friends of Jumble Answers”, I hope that Anonymous post didn’t upset anything. As for my opinion….”When they go low, we go high..”
Great sentence, as always, Earl. Hope you have a great day! πŸ¦πŸ™‹πŸ»

  2. Easy one today! Off to Berkeley today by car to finish closing down my parents’ home. Two days on the road – UGGH! Not a task my siblings and I are looking forward to. On a bright note, we WILL be seeing James Taylor and Bonnie Raitt in San Francisco on Saturday!

    GO MARINERS!!

    • Nice to hear from you, John! As some slight consolation, I can at least assure you that the weather has been wonderfully perfect here lately and is likely to remain so throughout your stay, but don’t forget it can get COLD at ATT Park at night.

  3. Hi John. Yep,cute and easy today. Nice to hear from you. I can understand your feelings, been there. At least you’re not facing it alone. I hope it goes smoothly.
Saturday, how cool is that? Enjoy, it should be a great show.

  4. Good morning, all.
Angela – Thanks for running interference for us on the spoiler. Isn’t it always the way? Just substituted into the game, and a hot smash comes right at you! By the way, thanks for mentioning the Yanks triple play – I would have missed it otherwise.

As far as the puzzle – I don’t remember an ‘el’ vs ‘le’ discussion, but that’s one thing that often trips me up, even though this is JumbLE.

Nice Everly Bros bird-dog in the URL!

    • Hey Steve. Hot smash? More like a hit and a miss, no? I’m good on defense! (We can discuss that fluke triple play on the other page). The “el” vs “le” might have been one of those private conversations you’re often RAVEN about, but I think it was here. Once again, no harm, no FOWL!
      Everly Brothers? Tweeeeet…Sweeeeeet!
Hope you have a great day! πŸ¦πŸ™‹πŸ»

  5. No problem with today’s clue words; however, at first glance, I felt that I would not take time to get answer to puzzle. As soon as I looked at clue letters the word “flap” revealed it’s self and I knew answer. The words “I feel good and I knew that I would” popped into my mind. Next thought was “oh no, I am turning into Steve and Angela.” LOL! Have a terrific day! 🌞 🌞

  6. HI, all! Loved the bird puzzle with the skittish bird & the unflappable one. We feed a lot of wild birds in our yard, especially gambol quail.
Angela, I was amazed at how many different birds you came up with & the clever way you used their names.
Mike, hope you & family are having fun, fun, fun!

  7. Hi, Steve! I won’t have the pleasure of conversing with you as much as I would enjoy until I finish with Jerry’s latest ailment. Yesterday Jerry’s cardiologist gave his OK for Jerry to have bladder surgery on Monday, July 31, so I want to get laundry caught up, groceries purchased, & food cooked so I can take care of him. His urology surgeon will scrape the inside of the bladder removing 2 polyps & check for gall stones to find out what’s causing the bleeding & stop it.
I will read what you say to others such as the fabulous article about the family with 3 children & 3 foul balls at the Red Sox game. I just wish they could have included the name & picture of the teenager who did not grab the first ball away from the little girl. We need to hear more about great kids like that.
